1 A nd Saul speaketh unto Jonathan his son, and unto all his servants, to put David to death,

Между това Саул каза на сина си Ионатана и на всичките си служители да убият Давида.

2 a nd Jonathan son of Saul delighted exceedingly in David, and Jonathan declareth to David, saying, `Saul my father is seeking to put thee to death, and, now, take heed, I pray thee, in the morning, and thou hast abode in a secret place, and been hidden,

Но Сауловият син Ионатан се радваше много на Давида, казвайки: Баща ми Саул търси случай да те убие; и тъй, пази се, моля, до утре, и стой на тайно място и крий се;

3 a nd I -- I go out, and have stood by the side of my father in the field where thou, and I speak of thee unto my father, and have seen what, and have declared to thee.'

а аз ще изляза и ще застана при баща си на нивата, гдето ще бъдеш ти, и ще говоря с баща си за тебе; и ако видя нещо, ще ти известя.

4 A nd Jonathan speaketh good of David unto Saul his father, and saith unto him, `Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works for thee very good;

И Ионатан говори добре за Давида на баща си Саула, като му каза: Да не съгреши царят против слугата си, против Давида; понеже не ти е съгрешил, и делата му са били много полезни за тебе;

5 y ea, he putteth his life in his hand, and smiteth the Philistine, and Jehovah worketh a great salvation for all Israel; thou hast seen, and dost rejoice, and why dost thou sin against innocent blood, to put David to death for nought?'

защото изложи живота си на опасност та уби филистимеца, и Господ извърши голямо избавление за целия Израил. Ти видя и се зарадва; защо, прочее, искаш да съгрешиш против невинна кръв, като убиеш Давида без причина?

6 A nd Saul hearkeneth to the voice of Jonathan, and Saul sweareth, `Jehovah liveth -- he doth not die.'

И Саул послуша Ионатановите думи; и Саул се закле в живота на Господа: <Давид> няма да бъде убит.

7 A nd Jonathan calleth for David, and Jonathan declareth to him all these words, and Jonathan bringeth in David unto Saul, and he is before him as heretofore.

Тогава Ионатан повика Давида и му извести всичко това. И Ионатан доведе Давида при Саула; <и> той стоеше пред него както по-напред.

8 A nd there addeth to be war, and David goeth out and fighteth against the Philistines, and smiteth among them -- a great smiting, and they flee from his face.

И пак избухна война; и Давид излезе та се би с филистимците, и порази ги с голямо клане, и те бягаха пред него.

9 A nd a spirit of sadness Jehovah is unto Saul, and he is sitting in his house, and his javelin in his hand, and David is playing with the hand,

А злият дух от Господа дойде върху Саула като седеше в къщата си с копието си в ръка; а Давид свиреше с ръката си.

10 a nd Saul seeketh to smite with the javelin through David, and through the wall, and he freeth himself from the presence of Saul, and he smiteth the javelin through the wall; and David hath fled and escapeth during that night.

И Саул поиска да закове Давида с копието до стената; но той се отклони от Сауловото присъствие, и <Саул> удари копието в стената; а Давид побягна та се избави през оная нощ.

11 A nd Saul sendeth messengers unto the house of David to watch him, and to put him to death in the morning; and Michal his wife declareth to David, saying, `If thou art not delivering thy life to-night -- tomorrow thou art put to death.'

Тогава Саул изпрати човеци в дома на Давида, за да го дебнат и да го убият на утринта; а Михала, жената на Давида, му извести, казвайки: Ако не избавиш живота си тая нощ, утре ще бъдеш убит.

12 A nd Michal causeth David to go down through the window, and he goeth on, and fleeth, and escapeth;

И Михала спусна Давида през прозореца; и той отиде, побягна и се избави.

13 a nd Michal taketh the teraphim, and layeth on the bed, and the mattress of goats' she hath put his pillows, and covereth with a garment.

Тогава Михала взе един домашен идол та го положи на леглото; тури под главата му възглавница от козина, и покри го с дреха.

14 A nd Saul sendeth messengers to take David, and she saith, `He sick.'

И когато Саул прати човеци, за да хванат Давида, тя рече: Болен е.

15 A nd Saul sendeth the messengers to see David, saying, `Bring him up in the bed unto me,' -- to put him to death.

Но Саул <пак> прати човеците, за да видят Давида, и каза: Донесете ми го на леглото, за да го убия.

16 A nd the messengers come in, and lo, the teraphim on the bed, and the mattress of goats', his pillows.

А когато влязоха човеците, ето домашният идол беше на леглото с възглавница от козина под главата му.

17 A nd Saul saith unto Michal, `Why thus hast thou deceived me -- that thou dost send away mine enemy, and he is escaped?' and Michal saith unto Saul, `He said unto me, Send me away: why do I put thee to death?'

И Саул каза на Михала: Ти защо ме излъга така, и пусна врага ми та се отърва? И Михала отговори на Саула: Той ми рече: Пусни ме, защо да те убия?

18 A nd David hath fled, and is escaped, and cometh in unto Samuel to Ramath, and declareth to him all that Saul hath done to him, and he goeth, he and Samuel, and they dwell in Naioth.

Така Давид побягна и се отърва; и дойде при Самуила в Рама та му извести всичко, що му беше сторил Саул. Тогава той и Самуил отидоха та седяха в Навиот.

19 A nd it is declared to Saul, saying, `Lo, David in Naioth in Ramah.'

След това, известиха на Саула, казвайки: Ето, Давид е в Навиот у Рама.

20 A nd Saul sendeth messengers to take David, and they see the assembly of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing, set over them, and the Spirit of God is on Saul's messengers, and they prophesy -- they also.

И Саул прати човеци да хванат Давида; но като видяха дружината на пророците, че пророкуваха, със Самуила началствувайки над тях, Божият Дух дойде на Сауловите пратеници, та пророкуваха и те.

21 A nd they declare to Saul, and he sendeth other messengers, and they prophesy -- they also; and Saul addeth and sendeth messengers a third time, and they prophesy -- they also.

И като се извести това на Саула, той прати още човеци; но и те пророкуваха. И пак трети път Саул прати човеци; но и те пророкуваха.

22 A nd he goeth -- he also -- to Ramath, and cometh in unto the great well which in Sechu, and asketh, and saith, `Where Samuel and David?' and saith, `Lo, in Naioth in Ramah.'

Тогава и сам той отиде в Рама; и като стигна до големия кладенец в Сокхо, попита казвайки: Где са Самуил и Давид? И казаха: Ето, те са в Навиот у Рама.

23 A nd he goeth thither -- unto Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God is upon him -- him also; and he goeth, going on, and he prophesyeth till his coming in to Naioth in Ramah,

И отиде там към Навиот у Рама; и Божият Дух дойде и на него, та като вървеше по пътя пророкуваше, докато стигна в Навиот у Рама.

24 a nd he strippeth off -- he also -- his garments, and prophesieth -- he also -- before Samuel, and falleth down naked all that day and all the night; therefore they say, `Is Saul also among the prophets?'

Съблече и той дрехите си, и пророкуваше и той пред Самуила, и лежеше гол през целия онзи ден и цялата оная нощ. Затова казват: И Саул ли е между пророците?
