1 A nd Saul speaketh unto Jonathan his son, and unto all his servants, to put David to death,

Falou, pois, Saul a Jônatas, seu filho, e a todos os seus servos, para que matassem a Davi. Porém Jônatas, filho de Saul, estava muito afeiçoado a Davi.

2 a nd Jonathan son of Saul delighted exceedingly in David, and Jonathan declareth to David, saying, `Saul my father is seeking to put thee to death, and, now, take heed, I pray thee, in the morning, and thou hast abode in a secret place, and been hidden,

Pelo que Jônatas o anunciou a Davi, dizendo: Saul, meu pai, procura matar-te; portanto, guarda-te amanhã pela manhã, fica num lugar oculto e esconde-te;

3 a nd I -- I go out, and have stood by the side of my father in the field where thou, and I speak of thee unto my father, and have seen what, and have declared to thee.'

eu sairei e me porei ao lado de meu pai no campo em que estiveres; falarei acerca de ti a meu pai, verei o que há, e to anunciarei.

4 A nd Jonathan speaketh good of David unto Saul his father, and saith unto him, `Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works for thee very good;

Então Jônatas falou bem de Davi a Saul, seu pai, e disse-lhe: Não peque o rei contra seu servo Davi, porque ele não pecou contra ti, e porque os seus feitos para contigo têm sido muito bons.

5 y ea, he putteth his life in his hand, and smiteth the Philistine, and Jehovah worketh a great salvation for all Israel; thou hast seen, and dost rejoice, and why dost thou sin against innocent blood, to put David to death for nought?'

Porque expôs a sua vida e matou o filisteu, e o Senhor fez um grande livramento para todo o Israel. Tu mesmo o viste, e te alegraste; por que, pois, pecarias contra o sangue inocente, matando sem causa a Davi?

6 A nd Saul hearkeneth to the voice of Jonathan, and Saul sweareth, `Jehovah liveth -- he doth not die.'

E Saul deu ouvidos ã voz de Jônatas, e jurou: Como vive o Senhor, Davi não morrera.

7 A nd Jonathan calleth for David, and Jonathan declareth to him all these words, and Jonathan bringeth in David unto Saul, and he is before him as heretofore.

Jônatas, pois, chamou a Davi, contou-lhe todas estas palavras, e o levou a Saul; e Davi o assistia como dantes.

8 A nd there addeth to be war, and David goeth out and fighteth against the Philistines, and smiteth among them -- a great smiting, and they flee from his face.

Depois tornou a haver guerra; e saindo Davi, pelejou contra os filisteus, e os feriu com grande matança, e eles fugiram diante dele.

9 A nd a spirit of sadness Jehovah is unto Saul, and he is sitting in his house, and his javelin in his hand, and David is playing with the hand,

Então o espírito maligno da parte do Senhor veio sobre Saul, estando ele sentado em sua casa, e tendo na mão a sua lança; e Davi estava tocando a harpa.

10 a nd Saul seeketh to smite with the javelin through David, and through the wall, and he freeth himself from the presence of Saul, and he smiteth the javelin through the wall; and David hath fled and escapeth during that night.

E Saul procurou encravar a Davi na parede, porém ele se desviou de diante de Saul, que fincou a lança na parede. Então Davi fugiu, e escapou naquela mesma noite.

11 A nd Saul sendeth messengers unto the house of David to watch him, and to put him to death in the morning; and Michal his wife declareth to David, saying, `If thou art not delivering thy life to-night -- tomorrow thou art put to death.'

Mas Saul mandou mensageiros ã casa de Davi, para que o vigiassem, e o matassem pela manhã; porém Mical, mulher de Davi, o avisou, dizendo: Se não salvares a tua vida esta noite, amanhã te matarão.

12 A nd Michal causeth David to go down through the window, and he goeth on, and fleeth, and escapeth;

Então Mical desceu Davi por uma janela, e ele se foi e, fugindo, escapou.

13 a nd Michal taketh the teraphim, and layeth on the bed, and the mattress of goats' she hath put his pillows, and covereth with a garment.

Mical tomou uma estátua, deitou-a na cama, pôs-lhe ã cabeceira uma pele de cabra, e a cobriu com uma capa.

14 A nd Saul sendeth messengers to take David, and she saith, `He sick.'

Quando Saul enviou mensageiros para prenderem a Davi, ela disse: Está doente.

15 A nd Saul sendeth the messengers to see David, saying, `Bring him up in the bed unto me,' -- to put him to death.

Tornou Saul a enviá-los, para que vissem a Davi, dizendo-lhes: Trazei-mo na cama, para que eu o mate.

16 A nd the messengers come in, and lo, the teraphim on the bed, and the mattress of goats', his pillows.

Vindo, pois, os mensageiros, eis que estava a estátua na cama, e a pele de cabra ã sua cabeceira.

17 A nd Saul saith unto Michal, `Why thus hast thou deceived me -- that thou dost send away mine enemy, and he is escaped?' and Michal saith unto Saul, `He said unto me, Send me away: why do I put thee to death?'

Então perguntou Saul a Mical: Por que assim me enganaste, e deixaste o meu inimigo ir e escapar? Respondeu Mical a Saul: Porque ele me disse: Deixa-me ir! Por que hei de matar-te?

18 A nd David hath fled, and is escaped, and cometh in unto Samuel to Ramath, and declareth to him all that Saul hath done to him, and he goeth, he and Samuel, and they dwell in Naioth.

Assim Davi fugiu e escapou; e indo ter com Samuel, em Ramá, contou-lhe tudo quanto Saul lhe fizera; foram, pois, ele e Samuel, e ficaram em Naiote.

19 A nd it is declared to Saul, saying, `Lo, David in Naioth in Ramah.'

E foi dito a Saul: Eis que Davi está em Naiote, em Ramá.

20 A nd Saul sendeth messengers to take David, and they see the assembly of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing, set over them, and the Spirit of God is on Saul's messengers, and they prophesy -- they also.

Então enviou Saul mensageiros para prenderem a Davi; quando eles viram a congregação de profetas profetizando, e Samuel a presidi-los, o Espírito de Deus veio sobre os mensageiros de Saul, e também eles profetizaram.

21 A nd they declare to Saul, and he sendeth other messengers, and they prophesy -- they also; and Saul addeth and sendeth messengers a third time, and they prophesy -- they also.

Avisado disso, Saul enviou outros mensageiros, e também estes profetizaram. Ainda terceira vez enviou Saul mensageiros, os quais também profetizaram.

22 A nd he goeth -- he also -- to Ramath, and cometh in unto the great well which in Sechu, and asketh, and saith, `Where Samuel and David?' and saith, `Lo, in Naioth in Ramah.'

Então foi ele mesmo a Rama e, chegando ao poço grande que estava em Sécu, perguntou: Onde estão Samuel e Davi? Responderam-lhe: Eis que estão em Naiote, em Ramá.

23 A nd he goeth thither -- unto Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God is upon him -- him also; and he goeth, going on, and he prophesyeth till his coming in to Naioth in Ramah,

Foi, pois, para Naiote, em Ramá; e o Espírito de Deus veio também sobre ele, e ele ia caminhando e profetizando, até chegar a Naiote, em Ramá.

24 a nd he strippeth off -- he also -- his garments, and prophesieth -- he also -- before Samuel, and falleth down naked all that day and all the night; therefore they say, `Is Saul also among the prophets?'

E despindo as suas vestes, ele também profetizou diante de Samuel; e esteve nu por terra todo aquele dia e toda aquela noite. Pelo que se diz: Está também Saul entre os profetas?
