1 T he thing that Isaiah son of Amoz hath seen concerning Judah and Jerusalem:

A visão que teve Isaías, filho de Amoz, a respeito de Judá e de Jerusalém.

2 A nd it hath come to pass, In the latter end of the days, Established is the mount of Jehovah's house, Above the top of the mounts, And it hath been lifted up above the heights, And flowed unto it have all the nations.

Acontecerá nos últimos dias que se firmará o monte da casa do Senhor, será estabelecido como o mais alto dos montes e se elevará por cima dos outeiros; e concorrerão a ele todas as nações.

3 A nd gone have many peoples and said, `Come, and we go up unto the mount of Jehovah, Unto the house of the God of Jacob, And He doth teach us of His ways, And we walk in His paths, For from Zion goeth forth a law, And a word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.

Irão muitos povos, e dirão: Vinde, e subamos ao monte do Senhor, ã casa do Deus de Jacó, para que nos ensine os seus caminhos, e andemos nas suas veredas; porque de Sião sairá a lei, e de Jerusalém a palavra do Senhor.

4 A nd He hath judged between the nations, And hath given a decision to many peoples, And they have beat their swords to ploughshares, And their spears to pruning-hooks, Nation doth not lift up sword unto nation, Nor do they learn any more -- war.

E ele julgará entre as nações, e repreenderá a muitos povos; e estes converterão as suas espadas em relhas de arado, e as suas lanças em foices; uma nação não levantará espada contra outra nação, nem aprenderão mais a guerra.

5 O house of Jacob, come, And we walk in the light of Jehovah.'

Vinde, ó casa de Jacó, e andemos na luz do Senhor.

6 F or Thou hast left Thy people, the house of Jacob. For they have been filled from the east, And sorcerers like the Philistines, And with the children of strangers strike hands.

Mas tu rejeitaste o teu povo, a casa de Jacó; porque estão cheios de adivinhadores do Oriente, e de agoureiros, como os filisteus, e fazem alianças com os filhos dos estrangeiros.

7 A nd its land is full of silver and gold, And there is no end to its treasures, And its land is full of horses, And there is no end to its chariots,

A sua terra está cheia de prata e ouro, e são sem limite os seus tesouros; a sua terra está cheia de cavalos, e os seus carros não tem fim.

8 A nd its land is full of idols, To the work of its hands it boweth itself, To that which its fingers have made,

Também a sua terra está cheia de ídolos; inclinam-se perante a obra das suas mãos, diante daquilo que os seus dedos fabricaram.

9 A nd the low boweth down, and the high is humbled, And Thou acceptest them not.

Assim, pois, o homem é abatido, e o varão é humilhado; não lhes perdoes!

10 E nter into a rock, and be hidden in dust, Because of the fear of Jehovah, And because of the honour of His excellency.

Entra nas rochas, e esconde-te no pó, de diante da espantosa presença do Senhor e da glória da sua majestade.

11 T he haughty eyes of man have been humbled, And bowed down hath been the loftiness of men, And set on high hath Jehovah alone been in that day.

Os olhos altivos do homem serão abatidos, e a altivez dos varões será humilhada, e só o Senhor será exaltado naquele dia.

12 F or a day to Jehovah of Hosts, For every proud and high one, And for every lifted up and low one,

Pois o Senhor dos exércitos tem um dia contra todo soberbo e altivo, e contra todo o que se exalta, para que seja abatido;

13 A nd for all cedars of Lebanon, The high and the exalted ones, And for all oaks of Bashan,

contra todos os cedros do Líbano, altos e sublimes; e contra todos os carvalhos de Basã;

14 A nd for all the high mountains, And for all the exalted heights,

contra todos os montes altos, e contra todos os outeiros elevados;

15 A nd for every high tower, And for every fenced wall,

contra toda torre alta, e contra todo muro fortificado;

16 A nd for all ships of Tarshish, And for all desirable pictures.

e contra todos os navios de Társis, e contra toda a nau vistosa.

17 A nd bowed down hath been the haughtiness of man, And humbled the loftiness of men, And set on high hath Jehovah alone been in that day.

E a altivez do homem será humilhada, e o orgulho dos varões se abaterá, e só o Senhor será exaltado naquele dia.

18 A nd the idols -- they completely pass away.

E os ídolos desaparecerão completamente.

19 A nd have entered into caverns of rocks, And into caves of dust, Because of the fear of Jehovah, And because of the honour of His excellency, In His rising to terrify the earth.

Então os homens se meterão nas cavernas das rochas, e nas covas da terra, por causa da presença espantosa do Senhor, e da glória da sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para assombrar a terra.

20 I n that day doth man cast his idols of silver, And his idols of gold, That they have made for him to worship, To moles, and to bats,

Naquele dia o homem lançará

21 T o enter into cavities of the rocks, And into clefts of the high places, Because of the fear of Jehovah, And because of the honour of His excellency, In His rising to terrify the earth.

para se meter nas fendas das rochas, e nas cavernas das penhas, por causa da presença espantosa do Senhor e da glória da sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para assombrar a terra.

22 C ease for you from man, Whose breath in his nostrils, For -- in what is he esteemed?

Deixai-vos pois do homem cujo fôlego está no seu nariz; porque em que se deve ele estimar?
