1 ` At that time hath Jehovah said unto me, Grave for thee two tables of stone, like the first, and come up unto Me, into the mount, and thou hast made for thee an ark of wood,

Naquele mesmo tempo me disse o Senhor: Alisa duas tábuas de pedra, como as primeiras, e sobe a mim ao monte, e faze uma arca de madeira.

2 a nd I write on the tables the words which were on the first tables, which thou hast broken, and thou hast placed them in the ark;

Nessas tábuas escreverei as palavras que estavam nas primeras tábuas, que quebras-te, e as porás na arca.

3 a nd I make an ark of shittim wood, and grave two tables of stone like the first, and go up to the mount, and the two tables in my hand.

Assim, fiz ume arca de madeira de acácia, alisei duas tábuas de pedra, como as primeiras, e subi ao monte com as duas tábuas nas mãos.

4 ` And He writeth on the tables, according to the first writing, the Ten Matters, which Jehovah hath spoken unto you in the mount, out of the midst of the fire, in the day of the assembly, and Jehovah giveth them unto me,

Então o Senhor escreveu nas tábuas, conforme a primeira escritura, os dez mandamentos, que ele vos falara no monte, do meio do fogo, no dia da assembléia; e o Senhor mas deu a mim.

5 a nd I turn and come down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made, and they are there, as Jehovah commanded me.

Virei-me, pois, desci do monte e pus as tábuas na arca que fizera; e ali estão, como o Senhor me ordenou.

6 ` And the sons of Israel have journeyed from Beeroth of the sons of Jaakan to Mosera, there Aaron died, and he is buried there, and Eleazar his son doth act as priest in his stead;

(Ora, partiram os filhos de Israel de Beerote-Bene-Jaacã para Mosera. Ali faleceu Arão e foi sepultado; e Eleazar, seu filho, administrou o sacerdócio em seu lugar.

7 t hence they journeyed to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water.

Dali partiram para Gudgoda, e de Gudgoda para Jotbatá, terra de ribeiros de águas.

8 ` At that time hath Jehovah separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, to stand before Jehovah, to serve Him, and to bless in His name, unto this day,

Por esse tempo o Senhor separou a tribo de Levi, para levar a arca do pacto do Senhor, para estar diante do Senhor, servindo-o, e para abençoar em seu nome até o dia de hoje.

9 t herefore there hath not been to Levi a portion and inheritance with his brethren; Jehovah Himself his inheritance, as Jehovah thy God hath spoken to him.

Pelo que Levi não tem parte nem herança com seus irmãos; o Senhor é a sua herança, como o Senhor teu Deus lhe disse.)

10 ` And I -- I have stood in the mount, as the former days, forty days and forty nights, and Jehovah hearkeneth unto me also at that time; Jehovah hath not willed to destroy thee.

Também, como antes, eu estive no monte quarenta dias e quarenta noites; e o Senhor me ouviu ainda essa vez; o Senhor não te quis destruir;

11 ` And Jehovah saith unto me, Rise, go to journey before the people, and they go in and possess the land which I have sworn to their fathers to give to them.

antes disse-me o Senhor: Levanta-te, põe-te a caminho diante do povo; eles entrarão e possuirão a terra que com juramento prometi a seus pais lhes daria.

12 ` And now, Israel, what is Jehovah thy God asking from thee, except to fear Jehovah thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,

Agora, pois, ó Israel, que é que o Senhor teu Deus requer de ti, senão que temas o Senhor teu Deus, que andes em todos os seus caminhos, e o ames, e sirvas ao Senhor teu Deus de todo o teu coração e de toda a tua alma,

13 t o keep the commands of Jehovah, and His statutes which I am commanding thee to-day, for good to thee?

que guardes os mandamentos do Senhor, e os seus estatutos, que eu hoje te ordeno para o teu bem?

14 ` Lo, to Jehovah thy God the heavens and the heavens of the heavens, the earth and all that in it;

Eis que do Senhor teu Deus são o céu e o céu dos céus, a terra e tudo o que nela há.

15 o nly in thy fathers hath Jehovah delighted -- to love them, and He doth fix on their seed after them -- on you, out of all the peoples as this day;

Entretanto o Senhor se afeiçoou a teus pais para os amar; e escolheu a sua descendência depois deles, isto é, a vós, dentre todos os povos, como hoje se vê.

16 a nd ye have circumcised the foreskin of your heart, and your neck ye do not harden any more;

Circuncidai, pois, o prepúcio do vosso coração, e não mais endureçais a vossa cerviz.

17 f or Jehovah your God -- He God of the gods, and Lord of the lords; God, the great, the mighty, and the fearful; who accepteth not persons, nor taketh a bribe;

Pois o Senhor vosso Deus, é o Deus dos deuses, e o Senhor dos senhores, o Deus grande, poderoso e terrível, que não faz acepção de pessoas, nem recebe peitas;

18 H e is doing the judgment of fatherless and widow, and loving the sojourner, to give to him bread and raiment.

que faz justiça ao órfão e ã viúva, e ama o estrangeiro, dando-lhe pão e roupa.

19 ` And ye have loved the sojourner, for sojourners ye were in the land of Egypt.

Pelo que amareis o estrangeiro, pois fostes estrangeiros na terra do Egito.

20 ` Jehovah thy God thou dost fear, Him thou dost serve, and to Him thou dost cleave, and by His name thou dost swear.

Ao Senhor teu Deus temerás; a ele servirás, e a ele te apegarás, e pelo seu nome; jurarás.

21 H e thy praise, and He thy God, who hath done with thee these great and fearful which thine eyes have seen:

Ele é o teu louvor e o teu Deus, que te fez estas grandes e terríveis coisas que os teus olhos têm visto.

22 w ith seventy persons did thy fathers go down to Egypt, and now hath Jehovah thy God made thee as stars of the heavens for multitude.

Com setenta almas teus pais desceram ao Egito; e agora o Senhor teu Deus te fez, em número, como as estrelas do céu.
