1 A nd gathered together unto him are the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, having come from Jerusalem,

Foram ter com Jesus os fariseus, e alguns dos escribas vindos de Jerusalém,

2 a nd having seen certain of his disciples with defiled hands -- that is, unwashed -- eating bread, they found fault;

e repararam que alguns dos seus discípulos comiam pão com as mãos impuras, isto é, por lavar.

3 f or the Pharisees, and all the Jews, if they do not wash the hands to the wrist, do not eat, holding the tradition of the elders,

Pois os fariseus, e todos os judeus, guardando a tradição dos anciãos, não comem sem lavar as mãos cuidadosamente;

4 a nd, from the market-place, if they do not baptize themselves, they do not eat; and many other things there are that they received to hold, baptisms of cups, and pots, and brazen vessels, and couches.

e quando voltam do mercado, se não se purificarem, não comem. E muitas outras coisas há que receberam para observar, como a lavagem de copos, de jarros e de vasos de bronze.

5 T hen question him do the Pharisees and the scribes, `Wherefore do thy disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but with unwashed hands do eat the bread?'

Perguntaram-lhe, pois, os fariseus e os escribas: Por que não andam os teus discípulos conforme a tradição dos anciãos, mas comem o pão com as mãos por lavar?

6 a nd he answering said to them -- `Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, hypocrites, as it hath been written, This people with the lips doth honor Me, and their heart is far from Me;

Respondeu-lhes: Bem profetizou Isaías acerca de vós, hipócritas, como está escrito: Este povo honra-me com os lábios; o seu coração, porém, está longe de mim;

7 a nd in vain do they worship Me, teaching teachings, commands of men;

mas em vão me adoram, ensinando doutrinas que são preceitos de homens.

8 f or, having put away the command of God, ye hold the tradition of men, baptisms of pots and cups; and many other such like things ye do.'

Vós deixais o mandamento de Deus, e vos apegais ã tradição dos homens.

9 A nd he said to them, `Well do ye put away the command of God that your tradition ye may keep;

Disse-lhes ainda: Bem sabeis rejeitar o mandamento de deus, para guardardes a vossa tradição.

10 f or Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, He who is speaking evil of father or mother -- let him die the death;

Pois Moisés disse: Honra a teu pai e a tua mãe; e: Quem maldisser ao pai ou ã mãe, certamente morrerá.

11 a nd ye say, If a man may say to father or to mother, Korban (that is, a gift), whatever thou mayest be profited out of mine,

Mas vós dizeis: Se um homem disser a seu pai ou a sua mãe: Aquilo que poderías aproveitar de mim é Corbã, isto é, oferta ao Senhor,

12 a nd no more do ye suffer him to do anything for his father or for his mother,

não mais lhe permitis fazer coisa alguma por seu pai ou por sua mãe,

13 s etting aside the word of God for your tradition that ye delivered; and many such like things ye do.'

invalidando assim a palavra de Deus pela vossa tradição que vós transmitistes; também muitas outras coisas semelhantes fazeis.

14 A nd having called near all the multitude, he said to them, `Hearken to me, ye all, and understand;

E chamando a si outra vez a multidão, disse-lhes: Ouvi-me vós todos, e entendei.

15 t here is nothing from without the man entering into him that is able to defile him, but the things coming out from him, those are the things defiling the man.

Nada há fora do homem que, entrando nele, possa contaminá-lo; mas o que sai do homem, isso é que o contamina.

16 I f any hath ears to hear -- let him hear.'

17 A nd when he entered into a house from the multitude, his disciples were questioning him about the simile,

Depois, quando deixou a multidão e entrou em casa, os seus discípulos o interrogaram acerca da parábola.

18 a nd he saith to them, `So also ye are without understanding! Do ye not perceive that nothing from without entering into the man is able to defile him?

Respondeu-lhes ele: Assim também vós estais sem entender? Não compreendeis que tudo o que de fora entra no homem não o pode contaminar,

19 b ecause it doth not enter into his heart, but into the belly, and into the drain it doth go out, purifying all the meats.'

porque não lhe entra no coração, mas no ventre, e é lançado fora? Assim declarou puros todos os alimentos.

20 A nd he said -- `That which is coming out from the man, that doth defile the man;

E prosseguiu: O que sai do homem, isso é que o contamina.

21 f or from within, out of the heart of men, the evil reasonings do come forth, adulteries, whoredoms, murders,

Pois é do interior, do coração dos homens, que procedem os maus pensamentos, as prostituições, os furtos, os homicídios, os adultérios,

22 t hefts, covetous desires, wickedness, deceit, arrogance, an evil eye, evil speaking, pride, foolishness;

a cobiça, as maldades, o dolo, a libertinagem, a inveja, a blasfêmia, a soberba, a insensatez;

23 a ll these evils do come forth from within, and they defile the man.'

todas estas más coisas procedem de dentro e contaminam o homem.

24 A nd from thence having risen, he went away to the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and having entered into the house, he wished none to know, and he was not able to be hid,

Levantando-se dali, foi para as regiões de Tiro e Sidom. E entrando numa casa, não queria que ninguém o soubesse, mas não pode ocultar-se;

25 f or a woman having heard about him, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having come, fell at his feet, --

porque logo, certa mulher, cuja filha estava possessa de um espírito imundo, ouvindo falar dele, veio e prostrou-se-lhe aos pés;

26 a nd the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phenician by nation -- and was asking him, that the demon he may cast forth out of her daughter.

(ora, a mulher era grega, de origem siro-fenícia) e rogava-lhe que expulsasse de sua filha o demônio.

27 A nd Jesus said to her, `Suffer first the children to be filled, for it is not good to take the children's bread, and to cast to the little dogs.'

Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Deixa que primeiro se fartem os filhos; porque não é bom tomar o pão dos filhos e lança-lo aos cachorrinhos.

28 A nd she answered and saith to him, `Yes, sir; for the little dogs also under the table do eat of the children's crumbs.'

Ela, porém, replicou, e disse-lhe: Sim, Senhor; mas também os cachorrinhos debaixo da mesa comem das migalhas dos filhos.

29 A nd he said to her, `Because of this word go; the demon hath gone forth out of thy daughter;'

Então ele lhe disse: Por essa palavra, vai; o demônio já saiu de tua filha.

30 a nd having come away to her house, she found the demon gone forth, and the daughter laid upon the couch.

E, voltando ela para casa, achou a menina deitada sobre a cama, e que o demônio já havia saído.

31 A nd again, having gone forth from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis,

Tendo Jesus partido das regiões de Tiro, foi por Sidom até o mar da Galiléia, passando pelas regiões de Decápolis.

32 a nd they bring to him a deaf, stuttering man, and they call on him that he may put the hand on him.

E trouxeram-lhe um surdo, que falava dificilmente; e rogaram-lhe que pusesse a mão sobre ele.

33 A nd having taken him away from the multitude by himself, he put his fingers to his ears, and having spit, he touched his tongue,

Jesus, pois, tirou-o de entre a multidão, ã parte, meteu-lhe os dedos nos ouvidos e, cuspindo, tocou-lhe na língua;

34 a nd having looked to the heaven, he sighed, and saith to him, `Ephphatha,' that is, `Be thou opened;'

e erguendo os olhos ao céu, suspirou e disse-lhe: Efatá; isto é Abre-te.

35 a nd immediately were his ears opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he was speaking plain.

E abriram-se-lhe os ouvidos, a prisão da língua se desfez, e falava perfeitamente.

36 A nd he charged them that they may tell no one, but the more he was charging them, the more abundantly they were proclaiming,

Então lhes ordenou Jesus que a ninguém o dissessem; mas, quando mais lho proibia, tanto mais o divulgavam.

37 a nd they were being beyond measure astonished, saying, `Well hath he done all things; both the deaf he doth make to hear, and the dumb to speak.'

E se maravilhavam sobremaneira, dizendo: Tudo tem feito bem; faz até os surdos ouvir e os mudos falar.
