1 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

Demais veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:

2 ` And thou, son of man, dost thou judge? dost thou judge the city of blood? then thou hast caused it to know all its abominations,

Tu pois, ó filho do homem, acaso julgarás, julgarás mesmo a cidade sanguinária? Então faze-lhe conhecer todas as suas abominações,

3 a nd thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: The city is shedding blood in its midst, For the coming in of its time, And it hath made idols on it for defilement.

e dize: Assim diz o Senhor Deus: A cidade que derrama o sangue dentro de si, para que venha o seu tempo! que faz ídolos contra si mesma, para se contaminar!

4 B y thy blood that thou hast shed thou hast been guilty, And by thine idols that thou hast made thou hast been defiled, And thou causest thy days to draw near, And art come in unto thine years, Therefore I have given thee a reproach to nations, And a derision to all the lands.

Pelo teu sangue que derramaste te fizeste culpada, e pelos teus ídolos que fabricaste te contaminaste; e fizeste aproximar-se o teu dia, e é chegado o fim dos teus anos. Por isso eu te fiz o opróbrio das nações e o escárnio de todas as terras.

5 T he near and the far-off from thee scoff at thee, O defiled of name -- abounding in trouble.

As que estão perto e as que estão longe de ti escarnecerão de ti, infamada, cheia de tumulto.

6 L o, princes of Israel -- each according to his arm Have been in thee to shed blood.

Eis que os príncipes de Israel, que estão em ti, cada um conforme o seu poder, se esforçam para derramarem sangue.

7 F ather and mother made light of in thee, To a sojourner they dealt oppressively in thy midst, Fatherless and widow they oppressed in thee.

No meio de ti desprezaram ao pai e ã mãe; no meio de ti usaram de opressão para com o estrangeiro; no meio de ti foram injustos para com o órfão e a viúva.

8 M y holy things thou hast despised, And My sabbaths thou hast polluted.

As minhas coisas santas desprezaste, e os meus sábados profanaste.

9 M en of slander have been in thee to shed blood, And on the mountains they have eaten in thee, Wickedness they have done in thy midst.

Em ti se acham homens que caluniam para derramarem sangue; em ti há os que comem sobre os montes; e cometem perversidade no meio de ti.

10 T he nakedness of a father hath one uncovered in thee, The defiled of impurity they humbled in thee.

A vergonha do pai descobrem em ti; no meio de ti humilham a que está impura, na sua separação.

11 A nd each with the wife of his neighbour hath done abomination, And each his daughter-in-law hath defiled through wickedness, And each his sister, his father's daughter, hath humbled in thee.

Um comete abominação com a mulher do seu próximo, outro contamina abominavelmente a sua nora, e outro humilha no meio de ti a sua irmã, filha de seu pai.

12 A bribe they have taken in thee to shed blood, Usury and increase thou hast taken, And cuttest off thy neighbour by oppression, And Me thou hast forgotten, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!

Peitas se recebem no meio de ti para se derramar sangue; recebes usura e ganhos ilícitos, e usas de avareza com o teu próximo, oprimindo-o; mas de mim te esqueceste, diz o Senhor Deus.

13 A nd lo, I have smitten My hand, Because of thy dishonest gain that thou hast gained, And for thy blood that hath been in thy midst.

Eis que, portanto, bato as mãos contra o lucro desonesto que ganhaste, e por causa do sangue que houve no meio de ti.

14 D oth thy heart stand -- are thy hands strong, For the days that I am dealing with thee? I, Jehovah, have spoken and have done.

Poderá estar firme o teu coração? poderão estar fortes as tuas mãos, nos dias em que eu tratarei contigo? Eu, o Senhor, o disse, e o farei.

15 A nd I have scattered thee among nations, And have spread thee out among lands, And consumed thy uncleanness out of thee.

Espalhar-te-ei entre as nações e dispersar-te-ei pelas terras; e de ti consumirei a tua imundícia.

16 A nd thou hast been polluted in thyself Before the eyes of nations, And thou hast known that I Jehovah.'

E tu serás profanada em ti mesma, aos olhos das nações, e saberás que eu sou o Senhor.

17 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, `Son of man,

De novo veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:

18 T he house of Israel hath been to Me for dross, All of them brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, In the midst of a furnace -- dross hath silver been,

Filho do homem, a casa de Israel se tornou para mim em escória; todos eles são bronze, e estanho, e ferro, e chumbo no meio da fornalha; em escória de prata eles se tornaram.

19 T herefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of your all becoming dross, Therefore, lo, I am gathering you unto the midst of Jerusalem,

Portanto assim diz o Senhor Deus: Pois que todos vós vos tornastes em escória, por isso eis que eu vos ajuntarei no meio de Jerusalém.

20 A gathering of silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, Unto the midst of a furnace -- to blow on it fire, to melt it, So do I gather in Mine anger and in My fury, And I have let rest, and have melted you.

Como se ajuntam a prata, e o bronze, e o ferro, e o chumbo, e o estanho, no meio da fornalha, para assoprar o fogo sobre eles, a fim de se fundirem, assim vos ajuntarei na minha ira e no meu furor, e ali vos porei e vos fundirei.

21 A nd I have heaped you up, And blown on you in the fire of My wrath, And ye have been melted in its midst.

Sim, congregar-vos-ei, e assoprarei sobre vós o fogo da minha ira; e sereis fundidos no meio dela.

22 A s the melting of silver in the midst of a furnace, So are ye melted in its midst, And ye have known that I, Jehovah, I have poured out My fury upon you.'

Como se funde a prata no meio da fornalha, assim sereis fundidos no meio dela; e sabereis que eu, o Senhor, derramei o meu furor sobre vós.

23 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:

Também veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:

24 ` Son of man, say to it, Thou a land, It not cleansed nor rained on in a day of indignation.

Filho do homem, dize-lhe a ela: Tu és uma terra que não está purificada, nem regada de chuvas no dia da indignação.

25 A conspiracy of its prophets in its midst, as a roaring lion tearing prey; The soul they have devoured, Wealth and glory they have taken, Its widows have multiplied in its midst.

Conspiração dos seus profetas há no meio dela, como um leão que ruge, que arrebata a presa; eles devoram vidas humanas; tomam tesouros e coisas preciosas; multiplicam as suas viúvas no meio dela.

26 I ts priests have wronged My law, And they pollute My holy things, Between holy and common they have not made separation, And between the unclean and the clean they have not made known, And from my sabbaths they have hidden their eyes, And I am pierced in their midst.

Os seus sacerdotes violentam a minha lei, e profanam as minhas coisas santas; não fazem diferença entre o santo e o profano, nem ensinam a discernir entre o impuro e o puro; e de meus sábados escondem os seus olhos, e assim sou profanado no meio deles.

27 I ts princes in its midst as wolves, Tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, For the sake of gaining dishonest gain.

Os seus príncipes no meio dela são como lobos que arrebatam a presa: derramando o sangue, e destruindo vidas, para adquirirem lucro desonesto.

28 A nd its prophets have daubed for them with chalk, Seeing a vain thing, and divining for them a lie, Saying, `Thus said the Lord Jehovah:' And Jehovah hath not spoken.

E os profetas têm feito para eles reboco com argamassa fraca tendo visões falsas, e adivinhando-lhes mentira, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor Deus; sem que o Senhor tivesse falado.

29 T he people of the land have used oppression, And have taken plunder violently away, And humble and needy have oppressed, And the sojourner oppressed -- without judgment.

O povo da terra tem usado de opressão, e andado roubando e fazendo violência ao pobre e ao necessitado, e tem oprimido injustamente ao estrangeiro.

30 A nd I seek of them a man making a fence, And standing in the breach before Me, In behalf of the land -- not to destroy it, And I have not found.

E busquei dentre eles um homem que levantasse o muro, e se pusesse na brecha perante mim por esta terra, para que eu não a destruísse; porém a ninguém achei.

31 A nd I pour out on them mine indignation, By fire of My wrath I have consumed them, Their way on their own head I have put, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!'

Por isso eu derramei sobre eles a minha indignação; com o fogo do meu furor os consumi; fiz que o seu caminho lhes recaísse sobre a cabeça, diz o Senhor Deus.
