1 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah a second time -- and he yet detained in the court of the prison -- saying:

E veio a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, segunda vez, estando ele ainda encarcerado no pátio da guarda, dizendo:

2 T hus said Jehovah its maker, Jehovah its former, at establishing it, Jehovah His name:

Assim diz o Senhor que faz isto, o Senhor que forma isto, para o estabelecer; o Senhor é o seu nome.

3 C all unto Me, and I do answer thee, yea, I declare to thee great and fenced things -- thou hast not known them.

Clama a mim, e responder-te-ei, e anunciar-te-ei coisas grandes e ocultas, que não sabes.

4 F or thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, that are broken down for the mounts, and for the tool;

Pois assim diz o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, acerca das casas desta cidade, e acerca das casas dos reis de Judá, que foram demolidas para fazer delas uma defesa contra os valados e contra a espada;

5 t hey are coming in to fight with the Chaldeans, and to fill them with the carcases of men, whom I have smitten in Mine anger, and in My fury, and whom I have hidden My face from this city, because of all their evil:

entrementes os caldeus estão entrando a pelejar para os encher de cadáveres de homens que ferirei na minha ira e no meu furor; porquanto escondi o meu rosto desta cidade, por causa de toda a sua maldade.

6 L o, I am increasing to it health and cure, And have healed them, and revealed to them The abundance of peace and truth.

Eis que lhe trarei a ela saúde e cura, e os sararei, e lhes manifestarei abundância de paz e de segurança.

7 A nd I have turned back the captivity of Judah, And the captivity of Israel, And I have built them as at the first,

E farei voltar do cativeiro os exilados de Judá e de Israel, e os edificarei como ao princípio.

8 A nd cleansed them from all their iniquity, That they have sinned against Me, And I have pardoned all their iniquities, That they have sinned against Me, And that they transgressed against Me.

E os purificarei de toda a iniqüidade do seu pecado contra mim; e perdoarei todas as suas iniqüidades, com que pecaram e transgrediram contra mim.

9 A nd it hath been to Me for a name of joy, For praise, and for beauty, to all nations of the earth, Who hear of all the good that I am doing them, And they have feared, And they have trembled for all the good, And for all the peace, that I am doing to it.

E esta cidade me servirá de nome de gozo, de louvor e de glória, diante de todas as nações da terra que ouvirem de todo o bem que eu lhe faço; e espantar-se-ão e perturbar-se-ão por causa de todo o bem, e por causa de toda a paz que eu lhe dou.

10 T hus said Jehovah: Again heard in this place of which ye are saying, Waste it, without man and without beast, In cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, That are desolated, without man, And without inhabitant, and without beast,

Assim diz o Senhor: Neste lugar do qual vós dizeis: E uma desolação, sem homens nem animais, sim, nas cidades de Judá, e nas ruas de Jerusalém, que estão assoladas, sem homens, sem moradores e sem animais, ainda se ouvira

11 I s a voice of joy and a voice of gladness, Voice of bridegroom, and voice of bride, The voice of those saying, Thank Jehovah of Hosts, for Jehovah good, For His kindness to the age, Who are bringing in thanksgiving to the house of Jehovah, For I turn back the captivity of the land, As at the first, said Jehovah.

a voz de gozo e a voz de alegria, a voz de noivo e a voz de noiva, e a voz dos que dizem: Dai graças ao Senhor dos exércitos, porque bom é o Senhor, porque a sua benignidade dura para sempre; também se ouvirá a voz dos que trazem ã casa do Senhor sacrifícios de ação de graças. Pois farei voltar a esta terra os seus exilados como no princípio, diz o Senhor.

12 T hus said Jehovah of Hosts: Again there is in this place -- that is waste, Without man and beast, And in all its cities -- a habitation of shepherds, Causing the flock to lie down.

Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Ainda neste lugar, que está deserto, sem homens, e sem animais, e em todas as suas cidades, haverá uma morada de pastores que façam repousar aos seus rebanhos.

13 I n the cities of the hill-country, In the cities of the low country, And in the cities of the south, And in the land of Benjamin, And in the suburbs of Jerusalem, And in the cities of Judah, Again doth the flock pass by under the hands of the numberer, said Jehovah.

Nas cidades da região montanhosa, nas cidades das planícies, e nas cidades do sul, e na terra de Benjamim, e nos contornos de Jerusalém, e nas cidades de Judá, ainda passarão os rebanhos pelas mãos dos contadores, diz o Senhor.

14 L o, days are coming, an affirmation of Jehovah, And I have established the good word That I spake unto the house of Israel, And concerning the house of Judah.

Eis que vêm os dias, diz o Senhor, em que cumprirei a boa palavra que falei acerca da casa de Israel e acerca da casa de Judá.

15 I n those days, and at that time, I cause to shoot up to David a shoot of righteousness, And he hath done judgment and righteousness in the earth.

Naqueles dias e naquele tempo farei que brote a Davi um Renovo de justiça; ele executará juízo e justiça na terra.

16 I n those days is Judah saved, And Jerusalem doth dwell confidently, And this he whom Jehovah proclaimeth to her: `Our Righteousness.'

Naqueles dias Judá será salvo e Jerusalém habitará em segurança; e este é o nome que lhe chamarão: O SENHOR É NOSSA JUSTIÇA.

17 F or thus said Jehovah: `Not cut off to David is one sitting on the throne of the house of Israel,

Pois assim diz o Senhor: Nunca faltará a Davi varão que se assente sobre o trono da casa de Israel;

18 A nd to the priests -- the Levites, Not cut off from before Me is one, Causing a burnt-offering to ascend, And perfuming a present, and making sacrifice -- all the days.'

nem aos sacerdotes levíticos faltará varão diante de mim para oferecer holocaustos, e queimar ofertas de cereais e oferecer sacrifícios continuamente.

19 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah, saying,

E veio a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, dizendo:

20 ` Thus said Jehovah: If ye do break My covenant of the day, And My covenant of the night, So that they are not daily and nightly in their season,

Assim diz o Senhor: se puderdes invalidar o meu pacto com o dia, e o meu pacto com a noite, de tal modo que não haja dia e noite a seu tempo,

21 A lso My covenant is broken with David My servant, So that he hath not a son reigning on his throne, And with the Levites the priests, My ministers.

também se poderá invalidar o meu pacto com Davi, meu servo, para que não tenha filho que reine no seu trono; como também o pacto com os sacerdotes levíticos, meus ministros.

22 A s the host of the heavens is not numbered, Nor the sand of the sea measured, So I multiply the seed of David My servant, And the Levites My ministers.'

Assim como não se pode contar o exército dos céus, nem medir-se a areia do mar, assim multiplicarei a descendência de Davi, meu servo, e os levitas, que ministram diante de mim.

23 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah, saying:

E veio ainda a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, dizendo:

24 ` Hast thou not considered what this people have spoken, saying: The two families on which Jehovah fixed, He doth reject them, And my people they despise -- So that they are no more a people before them!

Acaso não observaste o que este povo está dizendo: As duas famílias que o Senhor escolheu, agora as rejeitou? Assim desprezam o meu povo, como se não fora um povo diante deles.

25 T hus said Jehovah: If My covenant not daily and nightly, The statutes of heaven and earth I have not appointed --

Assim diz o Senhor: Se o meu pacto com o dia e com a noite não permanecer, e se eu não tiver determinado as ordenanças dos céus e da terra,

26 A lso the seed of Jacob, and David My servant, I reject, Against taking from his seed rulers For the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, For I turn back their captivity, and have pitied them.'

também rejeitarei a descendência de Jacó, e de Davi, meu servo, de modo que não tome da sua descendência os que dominem sobre a descendência de Abraão, Isaque, e Jacó; pois eu os farei voltar do seu cativeiro, e apiedar-me-ei deles.
