1 A nd Korah, son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, taketh both Dathan and Abiram sons of Eliab, and On son of Peleth, sons of Reuben,

Ora, Corá, filho de Izar, filho de Coate, filho de Levi, juntamente com Datã e Abirão, filhos de Eliabe, e Om, filho de Pelete, filhos de Rúben, tomando certos homens,

2 a nd they rise up before Moses, with men of the sons of Israel, two hundred and fifty, princes of the company, called of the convention, men of name,

levantaram-se perante Moisés, juntamente com duzentos e cinqüenta homens dos filhos de Israel, príncipes da congregação, chamados ã assembléia, varões de renome;

3 a nd they are assembled against Moses and against Aaron, and say unto them, `Enough of you! for all the company -- all of them holy, and in their midst Jehovah; and wherefore do ye lift yourselves up above the assembly of Jehovah?'

e ajuntando-se contra Moisés e contra Arão, disseram-lhes: Demais é o que vos arrogais a vós, visto que toda a congregação e santa, todos eles são santos, e o Senhor está no meio deles; por que, pois, vos elevais sobre a assembléia do Senhor?

4 A nd Moses heareth, and falleth on his face,

Quando Moisés ouviu isso, caiu com o rosto em terra;

5 a nd he speaketh unto Korah, and unto all his company, saying, `Morning! -- and Jehovah is knowing those who are his, and him who is holy, and hath brought near unto Him; even him whom He doth fix on He bringeth near unto Him.

depois falou a Corá e a toda a sua companhia, dizendo: Amanhã pela manhã o Senhor fará saber quem é seu, e quem é o santo, ao qual ele fará chegar a si; e aquele a quem escolher fará chegar a si.

6 T his do: take to yourselves censers, Korah, and all his company,

Fazei isto: Corá e toda a sua companhia, tomai para vós incensários;

7 a nd put in them fire, and put on them perfume, before Jehovah to-morrow, and it hath been, the man whom Jehovah chooseth, he the holy one; -- enough of you, sons of Levi.'

e amanhã, pondo fogo neles, sobre eles deitai incenso perante o Senhor; e será que o homem a quem o Senhor escolher, esse será o santo; demais é o que vos arrogais a vós, filhos de Levi.

8 A nd Moses saith unto Korah, `Hear ye, I pray you, sons of Levi;

Disse mais Moisés a Corá: Ouvi agora, filhos de Levi!

9 i s it little to you that the God of Israel hath separated you from the company of Israel to bring you near unto Himself, to do the service of the tabernacle of Jehovah, and to stand before the company to serve them? --

Acaso é pouco para vós que o Deus de Israel vos tenha separado da congregação de Israel, para vos fazer chegar a si, a fim de fazerdes o serviço do tabernáculo do Senhor e estardes perante a congregação para ministrar-lhe,

10 y ea, He doth bring thee near, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee -- and ye have sought also the priesthood!

e te fez chegar, e contigo todos os teus irmãos, os filhos de Levi? procurais também o sacerdócio?

11 T herefore, thou and all thy company who are met against Jehovah; and Aaron, what he, that ye murmur against him?'

Pelo que tu e toda a tua companhia estais congregados contra o Senhor; e Arão, quem é ele, para que murmureis contra ele?

12 A nd Moses sendeth to call for Dathan and for Abiram sons of Eliab, and they say, `We do not come up;

Então Moisés mandou chamar a Datã e a Abirão, filhos de Eliabe; eles porém responderam: Não subiremos.

13 i s it little that thou hast brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey to put us to death in a wilderness that thou also certainly makest thyself prince over us?

É pouco, porventura, que nos tenhas feito subir de uma terra que mana leite e mel, para nos matares no deserto, para que queiras ainda fazer-te príncipe sobre nós?

14 Y ea, unto a land flowing with milk and honey thou hast not brought us in, nor dost thou give to us an inheritance of field and vineyard; the eyes of these men dost thou pick out? we do not come up.'

Ademais, não nos introduziste em uma terra que mana leite e mel, nem nos deste campos e vinhas em herança; porventura cegarás os olhos a estes homens? Não subiremos.

15 A nd it is very displeasing to Moses, and he saith unto Jehovah, `Turn not Thou unto their present; not one ass from them have I taken, nor have I afflicted one of them.'

Então Moisés irou-se grandemente, e disse ao Senhor: Não atentes para a sua oferta; nem um só jumento tenho tomado deles, nem a nenhum deles tenho feito mal.

16 A nd Moses saith unto Korah, `Thou and all thy company, be ye before Jehovah, thou, and they, and Aaron, to-morrow;

Disse mais Moisés a Corá: Comparecei amanhã tu e toda a tua companhia perante o Senhor; tu e eles, e Arão.

17 a nd take ye each his censer, and ye have put on them perfume, and brought near before Jehovah, each his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; and thou and Aaron, each his censer.'

Tome cada um o seu incensário, e ponha nele incenso; cada um traga perante o Senhor o seu incensário, duzentos e cinqüenta incensários; também tu e Arão, cada qual o seu incensário.

18 A nd they take each his censer, and put on them fire, and lay on them perfume, and they stand at the opening of the tent of meeting, with Moses and Aaron.

Tomou, pois, cada qual o seu incensário, e nele pôs fogo, e nele deitou incenso; e se puseram ã porta da tenda da revelação com Moisés e Arão.

19 A nd Korah assembleth against them all the company unto the opening of the tent of meeting, and the honour of Jehovah is seen by all the company.

E Corá fez ajuntar contra eles toda o congregação ã porta da tenda da revelação; então a glória do Senhor apareceu a toda a congregação.

20 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

Então disse o senhor a Moisés e a Arão:

21 ` Be ye separated from the midst of this company, and I consume them in a moment;'

Apartai-vos do meio desta congregação, para que eu, num momento, os possa consumir.

22 a nd they fall on their faces, and say, `God, God of the spirits of all flesh -- the one man sinneth, and against all the company Thou art wroth!'

Mas eles caíram com os rostos em terra, e disseram: ç Deus, Deus dos espíritos de toda a carne, pecará um só homem, e indignar-te-ás tu contra toda esta congregação?

23 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Respondeu o Senhor a Moisés:

24 ` Speak unto the company, saying, Go ye up from round about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.'

Fala a toda esta congregação, dizendo: Subi do derredor da habitação de Corá, Datã e Abirão.

25 A nd Moses riseth, and goeth unto Dathan and Abiram, and the elders of Israel go after him,

Então Moisés levantou-se, e foi ter com Datã e Abirão; e seguiram-nos os anciãos de Israel.

26 a nd he speaketh unto the company, saying, `Turn aside, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and come not against anything that they have, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.'

E falou ã congregação, dizendo: Retirai-vos, peço-vos, das tendas desses homens ímpios, e não toqueis nada do que é seu, para que não pereçais em todos os seus pecados.

27 A nd they go up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan and Abiram, from round about, and Dathan, and Abiram have come out, standing at the opening of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their infants.

Subiram, pois, do derredor da habitação de Corá, Datã e Abirão. E Datã e Abirão saíram, e se puseram ã porta das suas tendas, juntamente com suas mulheres, e seus filhos e seus pequeninos.

28 A nd Moses saith, `By this ye do know that Jehovah hath sent me to do all these works, that not from my own heart;

Então disse Moisés: Nisto conhecereis que o Senhor me enviou a fazer todas estas obras; pois não as tenho feito de mim mesmo.

29 i f according to the death of all men these die -- or the charge of all men is charged upon them -- Jehovah hath not sent me;

Se estes morrerem como morrem todos os homens, e se forem visitados como são visitados todos os homens, o Senhor não me enviou.

30 a nd if a strange thing Jehovah do, and the ground hath opened her mouth and swallowed them, and all that they have, and they have gone down alive to Sheol -- then ye have known that these men have despised Jehovah.'

Mas, se o Senhor criar alguma coisa nova, e a terra abrir a boca e os tragar com tudo o que é deles, e vivos descerem ao Seol, então compreendereis que estes homens têm desprezado o Senhor.

31 A nd it cometh to pass at his finishing speaking all these words, that the ground which under them cleaveth,

E aconteceu que, acabando ele de falar todas estas palavras, a terra que estava debaixo deles se fendeu;

32 a nd the earth openeth her mouth, and swalloweth them, and their houses, and all the men who for Korah, and all the goods,

e a terra abriu a boca e os tragou com as suas famílias, como também a todos os homens que pertenciam a Corá, e a toda a sua fazenda.

33 a nd they go down, they, and all that they have, alive to Sheol, and the earth closeth over them, and they perish from the midst of the assembly;

Assim eles e tudo o que era seu desceram vivos ao Seol; e a terra os cobriu, e pereceram do meio da congregação,

34 a nd all Israel who round about them have fled at their voice, for they said, `Lest the earth swallow us;'

E todo o Israel, que estava ao seu redor, fugiu ao clamor deles, dizendo: não suceda que a terra nos trague também a nós.

35 a nd fire hath come out from Jehovah, and consumeth the two hundred and fifty men bringing near the perfume.

Então saiu fogo do Senhor, e consumiu os duzentos e cinqüenta homens que ofereciam o incenso.

36 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Então disse o Senhor a Moisés:

37 ` Say unto Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, and he lifteth up the censers from the midst of the burning, and the fire scatter thou yonder, for they have been hallowed,

Dize a Eleazar, filho de Arão, o sacerdote, que tire os incensários do meio do incêndio; e espalha tu o fogo longe; porque se tornaram santos

38 t he censers of these sinners against their own souls; and they have made them spread-out plates, a covering for the altar, for they have brought them near before Jehovah, and they are hallowed; and they are become a sign to the sons of Israel.'

os incensários daqueles que pecaram contra as suas almas; deles se façam chapas, de obra batida, para cobertura do altar; porquanto os trouxeram perante o Senhor, por isso se tornaram santos; e serão por sinal aos filhos de Israel.

39 A nd Eleazar the priest taketh the brazen censers which they who are burnt had brought near, and they spread them out, a covering for the altar --

Eleazar, pois, o sacerdote, tomou os incensários de bronze, os quais aqueles que foram queimados tinham oferecido; e os converteram em chapas para cobertura do altar,

40 a memorial to the sons of Israel, so that a stranger who is not of the seed of Aaron doth not draw near to make a perfume before Jehovah, and is not as Korah, and as his company, -- as Jehovah hath spoken by the hand of Moses to him.

para servir de memória aos filhos de Israel, a fim de que nenhum estranho, ninguém que não seja da descendência de Arão, se chegue para queimar incenso perante o Senhor, para que não seja como Corá e a sua companhia; conforme o Senhor dissera a Eleazar por intermédio de Moisés.

41 A nd all the company of the sons of Israel murmur, on the morrow, against Moses and against Aaron, saying, `Ye -- ye have put to death the people of Jehovah.'

Mas no dia seguinte toda oa congregação dos filhos de Israel murmurou contra Moisés e Arão, dizendo: Vós matastes o povo do Senhor.

42 A nd it cometh to pass, in the company being assembled against Moses and against Aaron, that they turn towards the tent of meeting, and lo, the cloud hath covered it, and the honour of Jehovah is seen;

E tendo-se sublevado a congregação contra Moisés e Arão, dirigiu-se para a tenda da revelação, e eis que a nuvem a cobriu, e a glória do Senhor apareceu.

43 a nd Moses cometh -- Aaron also -- unto the front of the tent of meeting.

Vieram, pois, Moisés e Arão ã frente da tenda da revelação.

44 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Então disse o Senhor a Moisés:

45 ` Get you up from the midst of this company, and I consume them in a moment;' and they fall on their faces,

Levantai-vos do meio desta congregação, para que eu, num momento, a possa consumir. Então caíram com o rosto em terra.

46 a nd Moses saith unto Aaron, `Take the censer, and put on it fire from off the altar, and place perfume, and go, hasten unto the company, and make atonement for them, for the wrath hath gone out from the presence of Jehovah -- the plague hath begun.'

Depois disse Moisés a Arão: Toma o teu incensário, põe nele fogo do altar, deita incenso sobre ele e leva-o depressa ã congregação, e faze expiação por eles; porque grande indignação saiu do Senhor; já começou a praga.

47 A nd Aaron taketh as Moses hath spoken, and runneth unto the midst of the assembly, and lo, the plague hath begun among the people; and he giveth the perfume, and maketh atonement for the people,

Tomou-o Arão, como Moisés tinha falado, e correu ao meio da congregação; e eis que já a praga havia começado entre o povo; e deitando o incenso no incensário, fez expiação pelo povo.

48 a nd standeth between the dead and the living, and the plague is restrained;

E pôs-se em pé entre os mortos e os vivos, e a praga cessou.

49 a nd those who die by the plague are fourteen thousand and seven hundred, apart from those who die for the matter of Korah;

Ora, os que morreram da praga foram catorze mil e setecentos, além dos que morreram no caso de Corá.

50 a nd Aaron turneth back unto Moses, unto the opening of the tent of meeting, and the plague hath been restrained.

E voltou Arão a Moisés ã porta da tenda da revelação, pois cessara a praga.
