1 A nd as he is going forth out of the temple, one of his disciples saith to him, `Teacher, see! what stones! and what buildings!'

Quando saía do templo, disse-lhe um dos seus discípulos: Mestre, olha que pedras e que edifícios!

2 a nd Jesus answering said to him, `Seest thou these great buildings? there may not be left a stone upon a stone, that may not be thrown down.'

Ao que Jesus lhe disse: Vês estes grandes edifícios? Não se deixará aqui pedra sobre pedra que não seja derribada.

3 A nd as he is sitting at the mount of the Olives, over-against the temple, Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, were questioning him by himself,

Depois estando ele sentado no Monte das Oliveiras, defronte do templo, Pedro, Tiago, João e André perguntaram-lhe em particular:

4 ` Tell us when these things shall be? and what the sign when all these may be about to be fulfilled?'

Dize-nos, quando sucederão essas coisas, e que sinal haverá quando todas elas estiverem para se cumprir?

5 A nd Jesus answering them, began to say, `Take heed lest any one may lead you astray,

Então Jesus começou a dizer-lhes: Acautelai-vos; ninguém vos engane;

6 f or many shall come in my name, saying -- I am, and many they shall lead astray;

muitos virão em meu nome, dizendo: Sou eu; e a muitos enganarão.

7 a nd when ye may hear of wars and reports of wars, be not troubled, for these behove to be, but the end not yet;

Quando, porém, ouvirdes falar em guerras e rumores de guerras, não vos perturbeis; forçoso é que assim aconteça: mas ainda não é o fim.

8 f or nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles; beginnings of sorrows these.

Pois se levantará nação contra nação, e reino contra reino; e haverá terremotos em diversos lugares, e haverá fomes. Isso será o princípio das dores.

9 ` And take ye heed to yourselves, for they shall deliver you up to sanhedrims, and to synagogues, ye shall be beaten, and before governors and kings ye shall be set for my sake, for a testimony to them;

Mas olhai por vós mesmos; pois por minha causa vos hão de entregar aos sinédrios e

10 a nd to all the nations it behoveth first that the good news be proclaimed.

Mas importa que primeiro o evangelho seja pregado entre todas as nações.

11 ` And when they may lead you, delivering up, be not anxious beforehand what ye may speak, nor premeditate, but whatever may be given to you in that hour, that speak ye, for it is not ye who are speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

Quando, pois, vos conduzirem para vos entregar, não vos preocupeis com o que haveis de dizer; mas, o que vos for dado naquela hora, isso falai; porque não sois vós que falais, mas sim o Espírito Santo.

12 ` And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and father child, and children shall rise up against parents, and shall put them to death,

Um irmão entregará ã morte a seu irmão, e um pai a seu filho; e filhos se levantarão contra os pais e os matarão.

13 a nd ye shall be hated by all because of my name, but he who hath endured to the end -- he shall be saved.

E sereis odiados de todos por causa do meu nome; mas aquele que perseverar até o fim, esse será salvo.

14 ` And when ye may see the abomination of the desolation, that was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (whoever is reading let him understand), then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains;

Ora, quando vós virdes a abominação da desolação estar onde não deve estar (quem lê, entenda), então os que estiverem na Judéia fujam para os montes;

15 a nd he upon the house-top, let him not come down to the house, nor come in to take anything out of his house;

quem estiver no eirado não desça, nem entre para tirar alguma coisa da sua casa;

16 a nd he who is in the field, let him not turn to the things behind, to take up his garment.

e quem estiver no campo não volte atrás para buscar a sua capa.

17 ` And wo to those with child, and to those giving suck, in those days;

Mas ai das que estiverem grávidas, e das que amamentarem naqueles dias!

18 a nd pray ye that your flight may not be in winter,

Orai, pois, para que isto não suceda no inverno;

19 f or those days shall be tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the creation that God created, till now, and may not be;

porque naqueles dias haverá uma tribulação tal, qual nunca houve desde o princípio da criação, que Deus criou, até agora, nem jamais haverá.

20 a nd if the Lord did not shorten the days, no flesh had been saved; but because of the chosen, whom He did choose to Himself, He did shorten the days.

Se o Senhor não abreviasse aqueles dias, ninguém se salvaria mas ele, por causa dos eleitos que escolheu, abreviou aqueles dias.

21 ` And then, if any may say to you, Lo, here the Christ, or, Lo, there, ye may not believe;

Então, se alguém vos disser: Eis aqui o Cristo! ou: Ei-lo ali! não acrediteis.

22 f or there shall rise false Christs and false prophets, and they shall give signs and wonders, to seduce, if possible, also the chosen;

Porque hão de surgir falsos cristos e falsos profetas, e farão sinais e prodígios para enganar, se possível, até os escolhidos.

23 a nd ye, take heed; lo, I have foretold you all things.

Ficai vós, pois, de sobreaviso; eis que de antemão vos tenho dito tudo.

24 ` But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

Mas naqueles dias, depois daquela tribulação, o sol escurecerá, e a lua não dará a sua luz;

25 a nd the stars of the heaven shall be falling, and the powers that are in the heavens shall be shaken.

as estrelas cairão do céu, e os poderes que estão nos céus, serão abalados.

26 ` And then they shall see the Son of Man coming in clouds with much power and glory,

Então verão vir o Filho do homem nas nuvens, com grande poder e glória.

27 a nd then he shall send his messengers, and gather together his chosen from the four winds, from the end of the earth unto the end of heaven.

E logo enviará os seus anjos, e ajuntará os seus eleitos, desde os quatro ventos, desde a extremidade da terra até a extremidade do céu.

28 ` And from the fig-tree learn ye the simile: when the branch may already become tender, and may put forth the leaves, ye know that nigh is the summer;

Da figueira, pois, aprendei a parábola: Quando já o seu ramo se torna tenro e brota folhas, sabeis que está próximo o verão.

29 s o ye, also, when these ye may see coming to pass, ye know that it is nigh, at the doors.

Assim também vós, quando virdes sucederem essas coisas, sabei que ele está próximo, mesmo

30 V erily I say to you, that this generation may not pass away till all these things may come to pass;

Em verdade vos digo que não passará esta geração, até que todas essas coisas aconteçam.

31 t he heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Passará o céu e a terra, mas as minhas palavras não passarão.

32 ` And concerning that day and the hour no one hath known -- not even the messengers who are in the heaven, not even the Son -- except the Father.

Quanto, porém, ao dia e ã hora, ninguém sabe, nem os anjos no céu nem o Filho, senão o Pai.

33 T ake heed, watch and pray, for ye have not known when the time is;

Olhai! vigiai! porque não sabeis quando chegará o tempo.

34 a s a man who is gone abroad, having left his house, and given to his servants the authority, and to each one his work, did command also the porter that he may watch;

É como se um homem, devendo viajar, ao deixar a sua casa, desse autoridade aos seus servos, a cada um o seu trabalho, e ordenasse também ao porteiro que vigiasse.

35 w atch ye, therefore, for ye have not known when the lord of the house doth come, at even, or at midnight, or at cock-crowing, or at the morning;

Vigiai, pois; porque não sabeis quando virá o senhor da casa; se ã tarde, se ã meia-noite, se ao cantar do galo, se pela manhã;

36 l est, having come suddenly, he may find you sleeping;

para que, vindo de improviso, não vos ache dormindo.

37 a nd what I say to you, I say to all, Watch.'

O que vos digo a vós, a todos o digo: Vigiai.
