1 H earken unto Me, ye pursuing righteousness, Seeking Jehovah, Look attentively unto the rock -- ye have been hewn, And unto the hole of the pit -- ye have been digged.

Ouvi-me vós, os que seguis a justiça, os que buscais ao Senhor; olhai para a rocha donde fostes cortados, e para a caverna do poço donde fostes cavados.

2 L ook attentively unto Abraham your father, And unto Sarah -- she bringeth you forth, For -- one -- I have called him, And I bless him, and multiply him.

Olhai para Abraão, vosso pai, e para Sara, que vos deu ã luz; porque ainda quando ele era um só, eu o chamei, e o abençoei e o multipliquei.

3 F or Jehovah hath comforted Zion, He hath comforted all her wastes, And He setteth her wilderness as Eden, And her desert as a garden of Jehovah, Joy, yea, gladness is found in her, Confession, and the voice of song.

Porque o Senhor consolará a Sião; consolará a todos os seus lugares assolados, e fará o seu deserto como o Edem e a sua solidão como o jardim do Senhor; gozo e alegria se acharão nela, ação de graças, e voz de cântico.

4 A ttend unto Me, O My people, And, O My nation, unto Me give ear. For a law from Me goeth out, And My judgment to the light, Peoples I do cause to rest.

Atendei-me, povo meu, e nação minha, inclinai os ouvidos para mim; porque de mim sairá a lei, e estabelecerei a minha justiça como luz dos povos.

5 N ear My righteousness, Gone out hath My salvation and Mine arms, Peoples they judge, on Me isles do wait, Yea, on Mine arm they do wait with hope.

Perto está a minha justiça, vem saindo a minha salvação, e os meus braços governarão os povos; as ilhas me aguardam, e no meu braço esperam.

6 L ift ye up to the heavens your eyes, And look attentively unto the earth beneath, For the heavens as smoke have vanished, And the earth as a garment weareth out, And its inhabitants as gnats do die, And My salvation is to the age, And My righteousness is not broken.

Levantai os vossos olhos para os céus e olhai para a terra em baixo; porque os céus desaparecerão como a fumaça, e a terra se envelhecerá como um vestido; e os seus moradores morrerão semelhantemente; a minha salvação, porém, durará para sempre, e a minha justiça não será abolida.

7 H earken unto Me, ye who know righteousness, A people, in whose heart My law, Fear ye not the reproach of men, And for their reviling be not affrighted,

Ouvi-me, vós que conheceis a justiça, vós, povo, em cujo coração está a minha lei; não temais o opróbrio dos homens, nem vos turbeis pelas suas injúrias.

8 F or as a garment eat them doth a moth, And as wool eat them doth a worm, And My righteousness is to the age, And My salvation to all generations.

Pois a traça os roerá como a um vestido, e o bicho os comerá como ã lã; a minha justiça, porém, durará para sempre, e a minha salvação para todas as gerações.

9 A wake, awake, put on strength, O arm of Jehovah, Awake, as days of old, generations of the ages, Art not Thou it that is hewing down Rahab, Piercing a dragon!

Desperta, desperta, veste-te de força, ó braço do Senhor; desperta como nos dias da antigüidade, como nas gerações antigas. Porventura não és tu aquele que cortou em pedaços a Raabe, e traspassou ao dragão,

10 A rt not Thou it that is drying up a sea, Waters of a great deep? That hath made deep places of a sea A way for the passing of the redeemed?

Não és tu aquele que secou o mar, as águas do grande abismo? o que fez do fundo do mar um caminho, para que por ele passassem os remidos?

11 A nd the ransomed of Jehovah turn back, And they have come to Zion with singing, And joy age-during on their head, Gladness and joy they attain, Fled away have sorrow and sighing,

Assim voltarão os resgatados do Senhor, e virão com júbilo a Sião; e haverá perpétua alegria sobre as suas cabeças; gozo e alegria alcançarão, a tristeza e o gemido fugirão.

12 I -- I He -- your comforter, Who thou -- and thou art afraid of man? he dieth! And of the son of man -- grass he is made!

Eu, eu sou aquele que vos consola; quem, pois, és tu, para teres medo dum homem, que é mortal, ou do filho do homem que se tornará como feno;

13 A nd thou dost forget Jehovah thy maker, Who is stretching out the heavens, and founding earth, And thou dost fear continually all the day, Because of the fury of the oppressor, As he hath prepared to destroy. And where the fury of the oppressor?

e te esqueces de Senhor, o teu Criador, que estendeu os céus, e fundou a terra, e temes continuamente o dia todo por causa do furor do opressor, quando se prepara para destruir? Onde está o furor do opressor?

14 H astened hath a wanderer to be loosed, And he doth not die at the pit, And his bread is not lacking.

O exilado cativo depressa será solto, e não morrerá para ir ã sepultura, nem lhe faltará o pão.

15 A nd I Jehovah thy God, Quieting the sea, when its billows roar, Jehovah of Hosts His name.

Pois eu sou o Senhor teu Deus, que agita o mar, de modo que bramem as suas ondas. O Senhor dos exércitos é o seu nome.

16 A nd I put My words in thy mouth, And with the shadow of My hand have covered thee, To plant the heavens, and to found earth, And to say to Zion, `My people thou.'

E pus as minhas palavras na tua boca, e te cubro com a sombra da minha mão; para plantar os céus, e para fundar a terra, e para dizer a Sião: Tu és o meu povo.

17 S tir thyself, stir thyself, rise, Jerusalem, Who hast drunk from the hand of Jehovah The cup of His fury, The goblet, the cup of trembling, thou hast drunk, Thou hast wrung out.

Desperta, desperta, levanta-te, ó Jerusalém, que bebeste da mão do Senhor o cálice do seu furor; que bebeste da taça do atordoamento, e a esgotaste.

18 T here is not a leader to her Out of all the sons she hath borne, And there is none laying hold on her hand Out of all the sons she hath nourished.

De todos os filhos que ela teve, nenhum há que a guie; e de todos os filhos que criou, nenhum há que a tome pela mão.

19 T hese two are meeting thee, who is moved for thee? Spoiling and destruction -- Famine and sword, who -- I comfort thee?

Estas duas coisas te aconteceram; quem terá compaixão de ti? a assolação e a ruína, a fome e a espada; quem te consolará?

20 T hy sons have been wrapt up, they have lain down, At the head of all out places, as a wild ox a net, They are full of the fury of Jehovah, The rebuke of Thy God.

Os teus filhos já desmaiaram, jazem nas esquinas de todas as ruas, como o antílope tomado na rede; cheios estão do furor do Senhor, e da repreensão do teu Deus.

21 T herefore, hear, I pray thee, this, O afflicted and drunken one, and not with wine,

Pelo que agora ouve isto, ó aflita, e embriagada, mas não de vinho.

22 T hus said thy Lord Jehovah, and thy God, He pleadeth his people: `Lo, I have taken out of thy hand the cup of trembling, The goblet, the cup of My fury, Thou dost not add to drink it any more.

Assim diz o Senhor Deus e o teu Deus, que pleiteia a causa do seu povo: Eis que eu tiro da tua mão a taça de atordoamento e o cálice do meu furor; nunca mais dele beberás;

23 A nd I have put it into the hand of those afflicting thee, Who have said to thy soul, Bow down, and we pass over, And thou makest as the earth thy body, And as the street to those passing by!'

mas pô-lo-ei nas mãos dos que te afligem, os quais te diziam: Abaixa-te, para que passemos sobre ti; e tu puseste as tuas costas como o chão, e como a rua para os que passavam.
