1 A nd Elisha the prophet hath called to one of the sons of the prophets, and saith to him, `Gird up thy loins, and take this vial of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth-Gilead,

Depois o profeta Eliseu chamou um dos filhos dos profetas, e lhe disse: Cinge os teus lombos, toma na mão este vaso de azeite e vai a Ramote-Gileade;

2 a nd thou hast gone in there, and see thou there Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, and thou hast gone in, and caused him to rise out of the midst of his brethren, and brought him in to the inner part of an inner-chamber,

quando lá chegares, procura a Jeú, filho de Jeosafá, filho de Ninsi; entra, faze que ele se levante do meio de seus irmãos, e leva-o para uma câmara interior.

3 a nd taken the vial of oil, and poured on his head, and said, Thus said Jehovah, I have anointed thee for king unto Israel; and thou hast opened the door, and fled, and dost not wait.'

Toma, então, o vaso de azeite, derrama-o sobre a sua cabeça, e dize: Assim diz o Senhor: Ungi-te rei sobre Israel. Então abre a porta, foge e não te detenhas.

4 A nd the young man goeth -- the young man the prophet -- to Ramoth-Gilead,

Foi, pois, o jovem profeta, a Ramote-Gileade.

5 a nd cometh in, and lo, chiefs of the force are sitting, and he saith, `I have a word unto thee, O chief!' and Jehu saith, `Unto which of all of us?' and he saith, `Unto thee, O chief.'

E quando chegou, eis que os chefes do exército estavam sentados ali; e ele disse: Chefe, tenho uma palavra para te dizer. E Jeú perguntou: A qual de todos nós? Respondeu ele: A ti, chefe!

6 A nd he riseth and cometh in to the house, and he poureth the oil on his head, and saith to him, `Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, I have anointed thee for king unto the people of Jehovah, unto Israel,

Então Jeú se levantou, e entrou na casa; e o mancebo derramou-lhe o azeite sobre a cabeça, e lhe disse: Assim diz o Senhor Deus de Israel: Ungi-te rei sobre o povo do Senhor, sobre Israel.

7 a nd thou hast smitten the house of Ahab thy lord, and I have required the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Jehovah, from the hand of Jezebel;

Ferirás a casa de Acabe, teu senhor, para que eu vingue da mão de Jezabel o sangue de meus servos, os profetas, e o sangue de todos os servos do Senhor.

8 a nd perished hath all the house of Ahab, and I have cut off to Ahab those sitting on the wall, and restrained, and left, in Israel,

Pois toda a casa de Acabe perecerá; e destruirei de Acabe todo filho varão, tanto o escravo como o livre em Israel.

9 a nd I have given up the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and as the house of Baasha son of Ahijah,

Porque hei de fazer a casa de Acabe como a casa de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, e como a casa de Baasa, filho de Aías.

10 a nd Jezebel do the dogs eat in the portion of Jezreel, and there is none burying;' and he openeth the door and fleeth.

Os cães comerão a Jezabel no campo de Jizreel; não haverá quem a enterre. Então o mancebo abriu a porta e fugiu.

11 A nd Jehu hath gone out unto the servants of his lord, and saith to him, `Is there peace? wherefore came this madman unto thee?' and he saith unto them, `Ye have known the man and his talk.'

Saiu então Jeú aos servos de seu senhor; e um lhe perguntou: Vai tudo bem? Por que veio a ti esse louco? E ele lhes respondeu: Bem conheceis o homem e o seu falar.

12 A nd they say, `False, declare, we pray thee, to us;' and he saith, `Thus and thus spake he unto me, saying, Thus said Jehovah, I have anointed thee for king unto Israel.'

Mas eles replicaram. É mentira; dize-no-lo, pedimos-te. Ao que disse Jeú: Assim e assim ele me falou, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor: Ungi-te rei sobre Israel.

13 A nd they haste and take each his garment, and put under him at the top of the stairs, and blow with a trumpet, and say, `Reigned hath Jehu!'

Então se apressaram, e cada um tomou a sua capa e a pôs debaixo dele, no mais alto degrau; e tocaram a buzina, e disseram: Jeú reina!

14 A nd Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspireth against Joram -- (and Joram was keeping in Ramoth-Gilead, he and all Israel, from the presence of Hazael king of Aram,

Assim Jeú, filho de Jeosafá, filho de Ninsi, conspirou contra Jorão. (Ora, tinha Jorão cercado a Ramote-Gileade, ele e todo o Israel, por causa de Hazael, rei da Síria;

15 a nd king Joram turneth back to be healed in Jezreel, of the wounds with which the Aramaeans smite him, in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram) -- and Jehu saith, `If it is your mind, let not an escaped one go out from the city, to go to declare in Jezreel.'

porém o rei Jorão tinha voltado para se curar em Jizreel das feridas que os sírios lhe fizeram, quando pelejou contra Hazael, rei da Síria.) E disse Jeú: Se isto é o vosso parecer, ninguém escape nem saia da cidade para ir dar a nova em Jizreel.

16 A nd Jehu rideth, and goeth to Jezreel, for Joram is lying there, and Ahaziah king of Judah hath gone down to see Joram.

Então Jeú subiu a um carro, e foi a Jizreel; porque Jorão estava acamado ali; e também Acazias, rei de Judá, descera para ver Jorão.

17 A nd the watchman is standing on the tower in Jezreel, and seeth the company of Jehu in his coming, and saith, `A company I see;' and Joram saith, `Take a rider and send to meet them, and let him say, Is there peace?'

O atalaia que estava na torre de Jizreel viu a tropa de Jeú, que vinha e disse: Vejo uma tropa. Disse Jorão: Toma um cavaleiro, e envia-o ao seu encontro a perguntar: Há paz?

18 a nd the rider on the horse goeth to meet him, and saith, `Thus said the king, Is there peace?' and Jehu saith, `What -- to thee and to peace? turn round behind me.' And the watchman declareth, saying, `The messenger came unto them, and he hath not returned.'

E o cavaleiro lhe foi ao encontro, e disse: Assim diz o rei: Há paz? Respondeu Jeú: Que tens tu que fazer com a paz? Passa para trás de mim. E o atalaia deu aviso, dizendo: Chegou a eles o mensageiro, porém não volta.

19 A nd he sendeth a second rider on a horse, and he cometh in unto them, and saith, `Thus said the king, Is there peace?' and Jehu saith, `What -- to thee and to peace? turn round behind me.'

Então Jorão enviou outro cavaleiro; e, chegando este a eles, disse Assim diz o rei: Há paz? Respondeu Jeú: Que tens tu que fazer com a paz? Passa para trás de mim.

20 A nd the watchman declareth, saying, `He came unto them, and he hath not returned, and the driving like the driving of Jehu son of Nimshi, for with madness he driveth.'

E o atalaia deu aviso, dizendo: Também este chegou a eles, porém não volta; e o andar se parece com o andar de Jeú, filho de Ninsi porque anda furiosamente.

21 A nd Jehoram saith, `Harness;' and his chariot is harnessed, and Jehoram king of Israel goeth out, and Ahaziah king of Judah, each in his chariot, and they go out to meet Jehu, and find him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

Disse Jorão: Aparelha-me o carro! E lho aparelharam. Saiu Jorão, rei de Israel, com Acazias, rei de Judá, cada um em seu carro para irem ao encontro de Jeú, e o encontraram no campo de Nabote, o jizreelita.

22 A nd it cometh to pass, at Jehoram's seeing Jehu, that he saith, `Is there peace, Jehu?' and he saith, `What the peace, while the whoredoms of Jezebel thy mother, and her witchcrafts, are many?'

E sucedeu que, vendo Jorão a Jeú, perguntou: Há paz, Jeú? Respondeu ele: Que paz, enquanto as prostituições da tua mãe Jezabel e as suas feitiçarias são tantas?

23 A nd Jehoram turneth his hands, and fleeth, and saith unto Ahaziah, `Deceit, O Ahaziah!'

Então Jorão deu volta, e fugiu, dizendo a Acazias: Há traição, Acazias!

24 A nd Jehu hath filled his hand with a bow, and smiteth Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow goeth out from his heart, and he boweth down in his chariot.

Mas Jeú, entesando o seu arco com toda a força, feriu Jorão entre as espáduas, e a flecha lhe saiu pelo coração; e ele caiu no seu carro.

25 A nd saith unto Bidkar his captain, `Lift up, cast him into the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite -- for, remember, I and thou were riding together after Ahab his father, and Jehovah lifted upon him this burden:

Disse então Jeú a Bidcar, seu ajudante: Levanta-o, e lança-o no campo da herança de Nabote, o jizreelita; pois lembra-te de indo eu e tu juntos a cavalo após seu pai Acabe, o Senhor pôs sobre ele esta sentença, dizendo:

26 H ave I not the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons seen yesternight -- the affirmation of Jehovah -- yea, I have recompensed to thee in this portion -- the affirmation of Jehovah; -- and now, lift up, cast him into the portion, according to the word of Jehovah.'

Certamente vi ontem o sangue de Nabote e o sangue de seus filhos, diz o Senhor; e neste mesmo campo te retribuirei, diz o Senhor. Agora, pois, levanta-o, e lança-o neste campo, conforme a palavra do Senhor.

27 A nd Ahaziah king of Judah hath seen, and fleeth the way of the garden-house, and Jehu pursueth after him, and saith, `Smite him -- also him -- in the chariot,' in the going up to Gur, that Ibleam, and he fleeth to Megiddo, and dieth there,

Quando Acazias, rei de Judá, viu isto, fugiu pelo caminho da casa do jardim. E Jeú o perseguiu, dizendo: A este também! Matai-o! Então o feriram no carro, ã subida de Gur, que está junto a Ibleão; mas ele fugiu para Megido, e ali morreu.

28 a nd his servants carry him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and bury him in his burying-place, with his fathers, in the city of David.

E seus servos o levaram num carro a Jerusalém, e o sepultaram na sua sepultura junto a seus pais, na cidade de Davi.

29 A nd in the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab reign did Ahaziah over Judah.

Ora, Acazias começara a reinar sobre Judá no ano undécimo de Jorão, filho de Acabe.

30 A nd Jehu cometh in to Jezreel, and Jezebel hath heard, and putteth her eyes in paint and maketh right her head, and looketh out through the window.

Depois Jeú veio a Jizreel; o que ouvindo Jezabel, pintou-se em volta dos olhos, e enfeitou a sua cabeça, e olhou pela janela.

31 A nd Jehu hath come into the gate, and she saith, `Was there peace Zimri -- slayer of his lord?'

Quando Jeú entrava pela porta, disse ela: Teve paz Zinri, que matou a seu senhor ?

32 A nd he lifteth up his face unto the window, and saith, `Who with me? -- who?' and look out unto him do two three eunuchs;

Ao que ele levantou o rosto para a janela e disse: Quem é comigo? quem? E dois ou três eunucos olharam para ele.

33 A nd he saith, `Let her go;' and they let her go, and of her blood is sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses, and he treadeth her down.

Então disse ele: Lançai-a daí abaixo. E lançaram-na abaixo; e foram salpicados com o sangue dela a parede e os cavalos; e ele a atropelou.

34 A nd he cometh in, and eateth, and drinketh, and saith, `Look after, I pray you, this cursed one, and bury her, for she a king's daughter.'

E tendo ele entrado, comeu e bebeu; depois disse: Olhai por aquela maldita, e sepultai-a, porque é filha de rei.

35 A nd they go to bury her, and have not found of her except the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands.

Foram, pois, para a sepultar; porém não acharam dela senão a caveira, os pés e as palmas das mãos.

36 A nd they turn back, and declare to him, and he saith, `The word of Jehovah it, that He spake by the hand of this servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel do the dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel,

Então voltaram, e lho disseram. Pelo que ele disse: Esta é a palavra do Senhor, que ele falou por intermédio de Elias, o tisbita, seu servo, dizendo: No campo de Jizreel os cães comerão a carne de Jezabel,

37 a nd the carcase of Jezebel hath been as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, that they say not, This Jezebel.'

e o seu cadáver será como esterco sobre o campo, na herdade de Jizreel; de modo que não se poderá dizer: Esta é Jezabel.
