1 I n those days hath Hezekiah been sick unto death, and come unto him doth Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, and saith unto him, `Thus said Jehovah: Give a charge to thy house, for thou art dying, and dost not live.'

Por aquele tempo Ezequias ficou doente, ã morte. O profeta Isaías, filho de Amoz, veio ter com ele, e lhe disse: Assim diz, o Senhor: Põe em ordem a tua casa porque morrerás, e não viverás.

2 A nd he turneth round his face unto the wall, and prayeth unto Jehovah, saying,

Então o rei virou o rosto para a parede, e orou ao Senhor, dizendo:

3 ` I pray Thee, O Jehovah, remember, I pray Thee, how I have walked habitually before Thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and that which good in Thine eyes I have done;' and Hezekiah weepeth -- a great weeping.

Lembra-te agora, ó Senhor, te peço, de como tenho andado diante de ti com fidelidade e integridade de coração, e tenho feito o que era reto aos teus olhos. E Ezequias chorou muitíssimo.

4 A nd it cometh to pass -- Isaiah hath not gone out to the middle court -- that the word of Jehovah hath been unto him, saying,

E sucedeu que, não havendo Isaías ainda saído do meio do pátio, veio a ele a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:

5 ` Turn back, and thou hast said unto Hezekiah, leader of My people: Thus said Jehovah, God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tear, lo, I give healing to thee, on the third day thou dost go up to the house of Jehovah;

Volta, e dize a Ezequias, príncipe do meu povo: Assim diz o Senhor Deus de teu pai Davi: Ouvi a tua oração, e vi as tuas lágrimas. Eis que eu te sararei; ao terceiro dia subirás ã casa do Senhor.

6 a nd I have added to thy days fifteen years, and out of the hand of the king of Asshur I deliver thee and this city, and have covered over this city for Mine own sake, and for the sake of David My servant.'

Acrescentarei aos teus dias quinze anos; e das mãos do rei da Assíria te livrarei, a ti e a esta cidade; e defenderei esta cidade por amor de mim, e por amor do meu servo Davi.

7 A nd Isaiah saith, `Take ye a cake of figs;' and they take and lay on the boil, and he reviveth.

Disse mais Isaías: Tomai uma pasta de figos e ponde-a sobre a úlcera; e ele sarará.

8 A nd Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, `What the sign that Jehovah doth give healing to me, that I have gone up on the third day to the house of Jehovah?'

Perguntou, pois, Ezequias a Isaías: Qual é o sinal de que o Senhor me sarará, e de que ao terceiro dia subirei ã casa do Senhor?

9 A nd Isaiah saith, `This to thee the sign from Jehovah, that Jehovah doth the thing that He hath spoken -- The shadow hath gone on ten degrees, or it doth turn back ten degrees?'

Respondeu Isaías: Isto te será sinal, da parte do Senhor, de que o Senhor cumprirá a palavra que disse: Adiantar-se-á a sombra dez graus, ou voltará dez graus atrás?

10 A nd Hezekiah saith, `It hath been light for the shadow to incline ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow turn backward ten degrees.'

Então disse Ezequias: É fácil que a sombra decline dez graus; não seja assim, antes volte a sombra dez graus atrás.

11 A nd Isaiah the prophet calleth unto Jehovah, and He bringeth back the shadow by the degrees that it had gone down in the degrees of Ahaz -- backward ten degrees.

Então o profeta Isaías clamou ao Senhor, que fez voltar a sombra dez graus atrás, pelos graus que já tinha declinado no relógio de sol de Acaz.

12 A t that time hath Berodach-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah, for he heard that Hezekiah had been sick;

Naquele tempo Berodaque-Baladã, filho de Baladã, rei de Babilônia, enviou cartas e um presente a Ezequias, porque ouvira que Ezequias tinha estado doente.

13 a nd Hezekiah hearkeneth unto them, and sheweth them all the house of his treasury, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the good ointment, and all the house of his vessels, and all that hath been found in his treasuries; there hath not been a thing that Hezekiah hath not shewed them, in his house, and in all his dominion.

E Ezequias deu audiência aos mensageiros, e lhes mostrou toda a casa de seu tesouro, a prata e o ouro, as especiarias e os melhores ungüentos, a sua casa de armas e tudo quanto havia nos seus tesouros; coisa nenhuma houve que lhes não mostrasse, nem em sua casa, nem em todo o seu domínio.

14 A nd Isaiah the prophet cometh in unto king Hezekiah, and saith unto him, `What said these men? and whence come they unto thee?' And Hezekiah saith, `From a land afar off they have come -- from Babylon.'

Então o profeta Isaías veio ao rei Ezequias, e lhe perguntou: Que disseram aqueles homens, e donde vieram a ti? Respondeu Ezequias: Vieram de um país mui remoto, de Babilônia.

15 A nd he saith, `What saw they in thy house?' and Hezekiah saith, `All that in my house they saw; there hath not been a thing that I have not shewed them among my treasures.'

E disse ele: Que viram em tua casa? E disse Ezequias: Viram tudo quanto há em minha casa; não há coisa nenhuma nos meus tesouros que eu não lhes mostrasse.

16 A nd Isaiah saith unto Hezekiah, `Hear a word of Jehovah:

Então disse Isaías a Ezequias: Ouve a palavra do Senhor:

17 L o, days are coming, and borne hath been all that in thy house, and that thy father have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Jehovah;

Eis que vêm dias em que será levado para a Babilônia tudo quanto houver em minha casa, bem como o que os teus pais entesouraram até o dia de hoje; não ficará coisa alguma, diz o Senhor.

18 a nd of thy sons who go out from thee, whom thou begettest, they take away, and they have been eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.'

E até mesmo alguns de teus filhos, que procederem de ti, e que tu gerares, levarão; e eles serão eunucos no paço do rei de Babilônia.

19 A nd Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, `Good the word of Jehovah that thou hast spoken;' and he saith, `Is it not -- if peace and truth are in my days?'

Então disse Ezequias a Isaías: Boa é a palavra do Senhor que disseste. Disse mais: Pois não é assim, se em meus dias vai haver paz e segurança?

20 A nd the rest of the matters of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and bringeth in the waters to the city, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Ora, o restante dos atos de Ezequias, e todo o seu poder, e como fez a piscina e o aqueduto, e como fez vir a água para a cidade, porventura não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Judá?

21 A nd Hezekiah lieth with his fathers, and reign doth Manasseh his son in his stead.

E Ezequias dormiu com seus pais. E Manassés, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
