1 I n those days hath Hezekiah been sick unto death, and come unto him doth Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, and saith unto him, `Thus said Jehovah: Give a charge to thy house, for thou art dying, and dost not live.'

Тими днями смертельно захворів був Єзекія. І прийшов до нього Ісая, Амосів син, пророк, і сказав до нього: Так сказав Господь: Заряди своїм домом, бо ти вмреш, а не видужаєш.

2 A nd he turneth round his face unto the wall, and prayeth unto Jehovah, saying,

А той відвернув обличчя своє до стіни, і помолився до Господа, говорячи:

3 ` I pray Thee, O Jehovah, remember, I pray Thee, how I have walked habitually before Thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and that which good in Thine eyes I have done;' and Hezekiah weepeth -- a great weeping.

О, Господи, згадай же, що я ходив перед лицем Твоїм правдою та цілим серцем, і робив я добре в очах Твоїх. І заплакав Єзекія ревним плачем...

4 A nd it cometh to pass -- Isaiah hath not gone out to the middle court -- that the word of Jehovah hath been unto him, saying,

І сталося, Ісая не вийшов ще з середини міста, а до нього було Господнє слово, говорячи:

5 ` Turn back, and thou hast said unto Hezekiah, leader of My people: Thus said Jehovah, God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tear, lo, I give healing to thee, on the third day thou dost go up to the house of Jehovah;

Вернися, і скажеш до Єзекії, володаря Мого народу: Так сказав Господь, Бог батька твого Давида: Почув Я молитву твою, побачив Я сльозу твою! Ось Я вилікую тебе, третього дня зійдеш ти до Господнього дому!

6 a nd I have added to thy days fifteen years, and out of the hand of the king of Asshur I deliver thee and this city, and have covered over this city for Mine own sake, and for the sake of David My servant.'

І до днів твоїх Я додам п'ятнадцять літ, і з руки асирійського царя врятую тебе та це місто, й обороню це місто ради Себе та ради раба Свого Давида.

7 A nd Isaiah saith, `Take ye a cake of figs;' and they take and lay on the boil, and he reviveth.

А Ісая сказав: Візьміть грудку фіґ. І взяли й поклали на того гнояка, і він видужав...

8 A nd Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, `What the sign that Jehovah doth give healing to me, that I have gone up on the third day to the house of Jehovah?'

І сказав Єзекія до Ісаї: Який знак, що Господь мене вилікує, і що я третього дня зійду до Господнього дому?

9 A nd Isaiah saith, `This to thee the sign from Jehovah, that Jehovah doth the thing that He hath spoken -- The shadow hath gone on ten degrees, or it doth turn back ten degrees?'

І сказав Ісая: Ось тобі знак той від Господа, що Господь зробить ту річ, про яку говорив: Чого хочеш, щоб пішла тінь уперед на десять ступенів, чи щоб вернулася на десять ступенів?

10 A nd Hezekiah saith, `It hath been light for the shadow to incline ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow turn backward ten degrees.'

І сказав Єзекія: Легко тіні похилитися вперед на десять ступенів; ні, а нехай тінь вернеться назад на десять ступенів!

11 A nd Isaiah the prophet calleth unto Jehovah, and He bringeth back the shadow by the degrees that it had gone down in the degrees of Ahaz -- backward ten degrees.

І кликнув пророк Ісая до Господа, і Він завернув тінь на ступенях, де вона спускалася на ступені Ахазові, на десять ступенів...

12 A t that time hath Berodach-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah, for he heard that Hezekiah had been sick;

Того часу послав Беродах-Бал'адан, син Бал'аданів, вавилонський цар, листа та дарунка до Єзекії, бо прочув був, що Єзекія захворів.

13 a nd Hezekiah hearkeneth unto them, and sheweth them all the house of his treasury, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the good ointment, and all the house of his vessels, and all that hath been found in his treasuries; there hath not been a thing that Hezekiah hath not shewed them, in his house, and in all his dominion.

І вислухав їх Єзекія, і показав їм усю скарбницю свою, і срібло, і золото, і пахощі, і добру оливу, і всю зброївню свою, і все, що знаходилося в його скарбницях. Не було речі, якої не показав би їм Єзекія в домі своїм та в усім володінні своїм.

14 A nd Isaiah the prophet cometh in unto king Hezekiah, and saith unto him, `What said these men? and whence come they unto thee?' And Hezekiah saith, `From a land afar off they have come -- from Babylon.'

І прийшов пророк Ісая до царя Єзекії та й сказав до нього: Що говорили ці люди? І звідки вони прийшли до тебе? А Єзекія сказав: Вони прийшли з далекого краю, з Вавилону.

15 A nd he saith, `What saw they in thy house?' and Hezekiah saith, `All that in my house they saw; there hath not been a thing that I have not shewed them among my treasures.'

І той сказав: Що вони бачили в домі твоїм? І Єзекія сказав: Усе, що в домі моїм, вони бачили, не було речі, якої не показав би я їм у скарбницях своїх.

16 A nd Isaiah saith unto Hezekiah, `Hear a word of Jehovah:

І сказав Ісая до Єзекії: Послухай Господнього слова:

17 L o, days are coming, and borne hath been all that in thy house, and that thy father have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Jehovah;

Ось приходять дні, і все, що в домі твоєму, і що були зібрали батьки твої аж до цього дня, буде винесене до Вавилону. Нічого не позостанеться, говорить Господь!

18 a nd of thy sons who go out from thee, whom thou begettest, they take away, and they have been eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.'

А з синів твоїх, що вийдуть із тебе, яких ти породиш, декого заберуть, і вони будуть євнухами в палатах вавилонського царя!

19 A nd Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, `Good the word of Jehovah that thou hast spoken;' and he saith, `Is it not -- if peace and truth are in my days?'

І сказав Єзекія до Ісаї: Добре Господнє слово, яке ти сказав! І подумав собі: Так, мир та безпека буде за моїх днів!

20 A nd the rest of the matters of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and bringeth in the waters to the city, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

А решта діл Єзекії та вся лицарськість його, і як він зробив става та водотяга, і впровадив воду до міста, ото вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Юдиних царів.

21 A nd Hezekiah lieth with his fathers, and reign doth Manasseh his son in his stead.

І спочив Єзекія зо своїми батьками, а замість нього зацарював син його Манасія.
