1 A nd the messenger who is speaking with me doth turn back, and stir me up as one who is stirred up out of his sleep,

І вернувся той Ангол, що говорив зо мною, і збудив мене, як чоловіка, якого будять зо сну його.

2 a nd he saith unto me, `What art thou seeing?' And I say, `I have looked, and lo, a candlestick of gold -- all of it, and its bowl on its top, and its seven lamps upon it, and twice seven pipes to the lights that on its top,

І сказав він до мене: Що ти бачиш? А я відказав: Бачу я, ось світильник, увесь із золота, і чаша на верху його, і сім лямпад його на ньому, і по сім рурочок для лямпад, що на верху його.

3 a nd two olive-trees by it, one on the right of the bowl, and one on its left.'

І дві оливки на ньому, одна з правиці чаші, а одна на лівиці її.

4 A nd I answer and speak unto the messenger who is speaking with me, saying, `What these, my lord?'

І говорив я й сказав до Ангола, що говорив зо мною, кажучи: Що це, мій пане?

5 A nd the messenger who is speaking with me answereth and saith unto me, `Hast thou not known what these ?' And I say, `No, my lord.'

І відповів Ангол, що говорив зо мною, та й сказав мені: Чи ж ти не знаєш, що це таке? А я відказав: Ні, пане!

6 A nd he answereth and speaketh unto me, saying: `This a word of Jehovah unto Zerubbabel, saying: Not by a force, nor by power, But -- by My Spirit, said Jehovah of Hosts.

І відповів він, і сказав мені, говорячи: Оце таке Господнє слово до Зоровавеля: Не силою й не міццю, але тільки Моїм Духом, говорить Господь Саваот.

7 W ho thou, O great mountain Before Zerubbabel -- for a plain! And he hath brought forth the top-stone, Cries of Grace, grace -- to it.'

Хто ти, горо велика? Перед Зоровавелем ти станеш рівниною. І він винесе наріжного каменя при криках: Милість, милість йому!

8 A nd there is a word of Jehovah to me, saying,

І було мені слово Господнє таке:

9 H ands of Zerubbabel did found this house, And his hands do finish it, And thou hast known that Jehovah of Hosts Hath sent me unto you.

Зоровавелеві руки заклали цей дім, і руки його викінчать, і ти пізнаєш, що Господь Саваот послав мене до вас.

10 F or who trampled on the day of small things, They have rejoiced, And seen the tin weight in the hand of Zerubbabel, These seven the eyes of Jehovah, They are going to and fro in all the land.'

Бо хто буде погорджувати днем малих речей? Але будуть тішитися, і будуть дивитись на теслярського виска в руці Зоровавеля ті семеро, Господні очі, що ходять по всій землі.

11 A nd I answer and say unto him, `What these two olive-trees, on the right of the candlestick, and on its left?'

І заговорив я та й до нього сказав: Що це за дві оливки праворуч свічника й ліворуч його?

12 A nd I answer a second time, and say unto him, `What the two branches of the olive trees that, by means of the two golden pipes, are emptying out of themselves the oil?'

І заговорив я вдруге, та й до нього сказав: Що це за дві галузки оливок, що через дві золоті рурки виливають з себе золото?

13 A nd he speaketh unto me, saying, `Hast thou not known what these ?' And I say, `No, my lord.'

І сказав він до мене, говорячи: Хіба ти не знаєш, що це? А я відказав: Ні, пане!

14 A nd he saith, `These the two sons of the oil, who are standing by the Lord of the whole earth.'

І він сказав: Це два Помазанці, що стоять перед Господом всієї землі.
