1 A nd a rod hath come out from the stock of Jesse, And a branch from his roots is fruitful.

І вийде Пагінчик із пня Єссеєвого, і Галузка дасть плід із коріння його.

2 R ested on him hath the Spirit of Jehovah, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and might, The spirit of knowledge and fear of Jehovah.

І спочине на Нім Дух Господній, дух мудрости й розуму, дух поради й лицарства, дух пізнання та страху Господнього.

3 T o refresh him in the fear of Jehovah, And by the sight of his eyes he judgeth not, Nor by the hearing of his ears decideth.

Його уподобання в страху Господньому, і Він не на погляд очей своїх буде судити, і не на послух ушей Своїх буде рішати,

4 A nd he hath judged in righteousness the poor, And decided in uprightness for the humble of earth, And hath smitten earth with the rod of his mouth, And with the breath of his lips he putteth the wicked to death.

але буде судити убогих за правдою, і правосуддя чинитиме слушно сумирним землі. І вдарить Він землю жезлом Своїх уст, а віддихом губ Своїх смерть заподіє безбожному.

5 A nd righteousness hath been the girdle of his loins, And faithfulness -- the girdle of his reins.

І станеться поясом клубів Його справедливість, вірність же поясом стегон Його!

6 A nd a wolf hath sojourned with a lamb, And a leopard with a kid doth lie down, And calf, and young lion, and fatling together, And a little youth is leader over them.

І замешкає вовк із вівцею, і буде лежати пантера з козлям, і будуть разом телятко й левчук, та теля відгодоване, а дитина мала їх водитиме!

7 A nd cow and bear do feed, Together lie down their young ones, And a lion as an ox eateth straw.

А корова й ведмідь будуть пастися разом, разом будуть лежати їхні діти, і лев буде їсти солому, немов та худоба!

8 A nd played hath a suckling by the hole of an asp, And on the den of a cockatrice Hath the weaned one put his hand.

І буде бавитися немовлятко над діркою гада, і відняте від перс дитинча простягне свою руку над нору гадюки,

9 E vil they do not, nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For full hath been the earth with the knowledge of Jehovah, As the waters are covering the sea.

не вчинять лихого та шкоди не зроблять на всій святій Моїй горі, бо земля буде повна пізнання Господнього так, як море вода покриває!

10 A nd there hath been, in that day, A root of Jesse that is standing for an ensign of peoples, Unto him do nations seek, And his rest hath been -- honour!

І станеться в день той: до Кореня Єссеєвого, що стане прапором народам, погани звертатися будуть до Нього, і буде славою місце спочинку Його!

11 A nd it hath come to pass, in that day, The Lord addeth a second time his power, To get the remnant of His people that is left, From Asshur, and from Egypt, And from Pathros, and from Cush, And from Elam, and from Shinar, And from Hamath, and from isles of the sea,

І станеться в день той, і знову подруге простягне Господь Свою руку, щоб набути останок народу Свого, що полишиться з Ашшуру й з Єгипту, і з Патросу та з Етіопії, і з Еламу й з Шін'ару, і з Хамату, та з морських островів.

12 A nd He hath lifted up an ensign to nations, And gathereth the driven away of Israel, And the scattered of Judah He assembleth, From the four wings of the earth.

І поганам підійме Він прапора, і згромадить вигнанців Ізраїля, і розпорошення Юди збере з чотирьох країв світу!

13 A nd turned aside hath the envy of Ephraim, And the adversaries of Judah are cut off, Ephraim doth not envy Judah, And Judah doth not distress Ephraim.

І спиниться заздрість Єфрема, і витяті будуть супротивники Юди, не буде вже заздрити Юді Єфрем, а Юда не буде гнобити Єфрема.

14 A nd they have flown on the shoulder of the Philistines westward, Together they spoil the sons of the east, Edom and Moab sending forth their hand, And sons of Ammon obeying them.

І вони полетять на плече филистимлян до моря, пограбують гуртом синів сходу, на Едома й Моава вони накладуть свою руку, і діти Аммона їх слухати будуть.

15 A nd Jehovah hath devoted to destruction The tongue of the sea of Egypt, And hath waved His hand over the river, In the terror of his wind, And hath smitten it at the seven streams, And hath caused to tread with shoes.

І вчинить закляттям Господь затоку моря Єгипетського, і руку Свою простягне на ріку в сильнім вітрі Своїм, і на сім потоків розділить її, й буде можна її у взутті переходити.

16 A nd there hath been a highway, For the remnant of His people that is left, from Asshur, As there was for Israel in the day of his coming up out of the land of Egypt!

І буде широка дорога для решти народу Його, що з Ашшуру зостанеться, як була для Ізраїля в день, коли він виходив із краю єгипетського.
