1 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth of the month, saying,

А за дев'ятого року, десятого місяця, десятого дня місяця було мені слово Господнє таке:

2 ` Son of man, write for thee the name of the day -- this self-same day leaned hath the king of Babylon toward Jerusalem in this self-same day --

Сину людський, напиши собі ім'я цього дня, цього самого дня, бо вавилонський цар саме цього дня наступив на Єрусалим.

3 a nd use unto the rebellious house a simile, and thou hast said unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: To set on the pot, to set on, and also to pour into it water,

І розкажи притчу на дім ворохобности, та й скажеш їм: Так говорить Господь Бог: Пристав ти котла, пристав та й налий води в нього.

4 T o gather its pieces unto it, every good piece, Thigh and shoulder, the choice of the bones to fill in.

Повкладай його кусні до нього, усякий добрий кусок, стегно та лопатку, наповни кістками добірними.

5 T he choice of the flock to take, And also to pile of the bones under it, Boil it thoroughly, yea, cook its bones in its midst.

Візьми добірніше з отари, розклади під ним дрова, звари його кусні, і щоб у ньому зварилися кості його.

6 T herefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Wo the city of blood, A pot whose scum in it, And its scum hath not come out of it, By piece of it, by piece of it bring it out, Not fallen on it hath a lot.

Тому так Господь Бог промовляє: Горе місту цьому душогубному, котлові, що іржа його в ньому, і що його іржа не сходить із нього! Кусок за куском повитягуй це з нього; на нього нехай не впаде жеребок!

7 F or her blood in her midst hath been, On a clear place of a rock she hath set it, She hath not poured it on the earth, To cover it over with dust.

Кров бо його серед нього, він на голу скелю її помістив, не вилив на землю її, щоб порохом вкрити її.

8 T o cause fury to come up to take vengeance, I have put her blood on a clear place of a rock -- not to be covered.

Щоб лютість підійняти, щоб помститися, Я дам його кров на голу скелю, щоб вона непокрита була.

9 T herefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Wo the city of blood, yea, I -- I make great the pile.

Тому так Господь Бог промовляє: Горе місту цьому душогубному, збільшу огнище й Я!

10 M ake abundant the wood, Kindle the fire, consume the flesh, And make the compound, And let the bones be burnt.

Підклади дров, розпали цей огонь, довари м'ясо, і вилий росіл, а кості хай спалені будуть.

11 A nd cause it to stand on its coals empty, So that its brass is hot and burning, Melted hath been in its midst its uncleanness, Consumed is its scum.

І постав його порожнім на вугілля його, щоб він розігрівся, і щоб мідь його розпалилась, і щоб розтопилась у ньому нечистість його, щоб іржа його зникла.

12 s orrows she hath wearied herself, And the abundance of her scum goeth not out of her, In the fire her scum.

Увесь труд надармо пішов, і не зійшла з нього його велика іржа, в огонь його з його іржею!

13 I n thine uncleanness wickedness, Because I have cleansed thee, And thou hast not been cleansed, From thine uncleanness thou art not cleansed again, Till I have caused My fury to rest on thee.

У твоїй нечистоті є розпуста. За те, що Я чистив тебе, але чистим не став ти, ти з своєї нечистости вже не відчистишся, аж поки Я не заспокою Свою лютість на тобі.

14 I , Jehovah, hath spoken, It hath come, and I have done, I do not free, nor do I spare, nor do I repent, According to thy ways, and according to thine acts, they have judged thee, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'

Я, Господь, це казав, і надійде воно! І зроблю, не звільню, і не змилуюся, за твоїми дорогами та за твоїми ділами засудять тебе, це Господь Бог промовляє!

15 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

І було мені слово Господнє таке:

16 ` Son of man, lo, I am taking from thee the desire of thine eyes by a stroke, and thou dost not mourn, nor weep, nor let thy tear come.

Сину людський, ось Я візьму від тебе несподіваним ударом утіху очей твоїх, а ти не голоси й не плач, і нехай не виступить сльоза твоя.

17 C ease to groan, the dead thou dost make no mourning, thy bonnet bind on thee, and thy shoes thou dost put on thy feet, and thou dost not cover over the upper lip, and bread of men thou dost not eat.'

Стогни собі тихо, жалоби по померлих не роби, прикрасу голови своєї обвий на себе, а взуття своє взуй на ноги свої, і не закривай вусів, і не їж жалобного хліба.

18 A nd I speak unto the people in the morning, and my wife dieth in the evening, and I do in the morning as I have been commanded.

І говорив я до народу рано, а ввечері померла мені жінка... І зробив я рано, як наказано мені.

19 A nd the people say unto me, `Dost thou not declare to us what these to us, that thou art doing?'

І сказав мені той народ: Чи не розповіси нам, що це нам таке, що ти робиш?

20 A nd I say unto them, `A word of Jehovah hath been unto me, saying:

І я їм сказав: Було мені слово Господнє таке:

21 S ay to the house of Israel: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am polluting My sanctuary, The excellency of your strength, The desire of your eyes, and the pitied of your soul, And your sons and your daughters whom ye have left, by sword they do fall.

Скажи Ізраїлевому дому: Так говорить Господь Бог: Ось Я збезчещу святиню Мою, опору вашої сили, утіху ваших очей та любе вашій душі. А ваші сини та ваші дочки, що ви покинули їх, попадають від меча...

22 A nd ye have done as I have done, On the upper lip ye are not covered, And bread of men ye do not eat.

І ви зробите, як зробив я: вусів не закриєте, і хліба жалобного не будете їсти...

23 A nd your bonnets on your heads, And your shoes on your feet, Ye do not mourn nor do ye weep, And ye have wasted away for your iniquities, And ye have howled one unto another.

А прикраси ваші будуть на ваших головах, і взуття ваше на ваших ногах, не будете голосити, і не будете плакати, а будете сохнути через свої гріхи, і будете стогнати один до одного...

24 A nd Ezekiel hath been to you for a type, According to all that he hath done ye do; In its coming in -- ye have known that I the Lord Jehovah.

І стане Єзекіїль вам за знака: усе, що робив він, будете робити і ви. І коли те прийде, то пізнаєте ви, що Я Господь Бог.

25 A nd thou, son of man, Is it not in the day of My taking from them their strength, The joy of their beauty, the desire of their eyes, And the song of their soul, Their sons and their daughters?

А ти, сину людський, того дня, коли візьму від них їхню силу, радість пишноти їхньої, утіху очей їхніх, прагнення їхньої душі, їхніх синів та дочок їхніх,

26 I n that day come doth the escaped one to thee. To cause the ears to hear.

того дня прийде до тебе врятований, щоб сповістити про це в твої вуха.

27 I n that day opened is thy mouth with the escaped, And thou speakest, and art not silent any more, And thou hast been to them for a type. And they have known that I Jehovah.'

Цього дня відкриються твої уста разом з цим урятованим, і будеш говорити, і не будеш уже німий, і станеш для них знаком. І пізнають, що Я Господь!
