1 ` Say ye to your brethren -- Ammi, And to your sisters -- Ruhamah.

(2-3) Скажіть своїм братам: Народ Мій, а своїм сестрам: Помилувана.

2 P lead ye with your mother -- plead, (For she not My wife, and I not her husband,) And she turneth her whoredoms from before her, And her adulteries from between her breasts,

(2-4) Судіться з вашою матір'ю, судіться, бо вона не жінка Моя, а Я не її чоловік, і нехай вона відкине від себе свій блуд, і з-поміж своїх перс свій перелюб,

3 L est I strip her naked. And have set her up as the day of her birth, And have made her as a wilderness, And have set her as a dry land, And have put her to death with thirst.

(2-5) щоб Я не роздягнув її до нага, і не поставив її такою, як у день її народження, і щоб не зробив Я її пустинею, і не обернув її на суху землю, і не забив її спрагою.

4 A nd her sons I do not pity, For sons of whoredoms they,

(2-6) Над синами ж її Я не змилуюся, бо вони сини блуду,

5 F or gone a-whoring hath their mother, Acted shamefully hath their conceiver, For she hath said, I go after my lovers, Those giving my bread and my water, My wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.

(2-7) бо їхня мати блудлива була, та, що ними була вагітна, сором чинила, бо казала вона: Я піду за своїми полюбовниками, що дають мені хліб мій та воду мою, мою вовну та льон мій, оливу мою та напої мої.

6 T herefore, lo, I am hedging up thy way with thorns, And I have made for her a wall, And her paths she doth not find.

(2-8) Тому то ось Я вкрию твою дорогу тернями, і обгороджу її огорожею, і стежок своїх не знайде вона.

7 A nd she hath pursued her lovers, And she doth not overtake them, And hath sought them, and doth not find, And she hath said: I go, and I turn back unto My first husband, For -- better to me then than now.

(2-9) І буде вона гнатися за своїми полюбовниками, але не дожене їх, і буде шукати їх, та не знайде. І скаже вона: Піду я, і вернуся до мого першого чоловіка, бо краще було мені тоді, як тепер.

8 A nd she knew not that I had given to her, The corn, and the new wine, and the oil. Yea, silver I did multiply to her, And the gold they prepared for Baal.

(2-10) А вона не знає, що то Я давав їй збіжжя, і виноградний сік, і свіжу оливу, і примножив їй срібло та золото, яке вони звернули на Ваала.

9 T herefore do I turn back, And I have taken My corn in its season, And My new wine in its appointed time, And I have taken away My wool and My flax, covering her nakedness.

(2-11) Тому то заберу назад Своє збіжжя в його часі, а Мій сік виноградний в його умовленому часі, і заберу Свою вовну та Свій льон, що був на покриття її наготи.

10 A nd now do I reveal her dishonour before the eyes of her lovers, And none doth deliver her out of My hand.

(2-12) А тепер відкрию її наготу на очах її коханців, і ніхто не врятує її від Моєї руки.

11 A nd I have caused to cease all her joy, Her festival, her new moon, and her sabbath, Even all her appointed times,

(2-13) І зроблю кінець усякій радості її, святу її, новомісяччю її, і суботі її, та всякому святковому часові.

12 A nd made desolate her vine and her fig-tree, Of which she said, A gift they to me, That my lovers have given to me, And I have made them for a forest, And consumed them hath a beast of the field.

(2-14) І спустошу її виноградника та її фіґове дерево, про які вона говорила: Це мені дар за блудодійство, що дали мені мої полюбовники. А Я оберну їх на ліс, і їх пожере польова звірина!

13 A nd I have charged on her the days of the Baalim, To whom she maketh perfume, And putteth on her ring and her ornament, And goeth after her lovers, And Me forgat -- an affirmation of Jehovah.

(2-15) І навіщу її за дні Ваалів, коли вона кадила. І приоздоблювалася ти своєю носовою сережкою та своїм нашийником, і ходила за своїми полюбовниками, а Мене забувала, говорить Господь.

14 T herefore, lo, I am enticing her, And have caused her to go to the wilderness, And I have spoken unto her heart,

(2-16) Тому то ось Я намовлю її, і попроваджу її до пустині, і буду говорити до серця її.

15 A nd given to her her vineyards from thence, And the valley of Achor for an opening of hope, And she hath responded there as in the days of her youth, And as in the day of her coming up out of the land of Egypt.

(2-17) І дам їй виноградники звідти та долину Ахор за двері надії, і вона буде там співати, як за днів своєї молодости, як за дня виходу її з єгипетського краю.

16 A nd it hath come to pass, in that day, An affirmation of Jehovah, Thou dost call Me -- My husband, And dost not call Me any more -- My lord.

(2-18) І станеться, того дня говорить Господь ти кликатимеш: Чоловіче мій, і не будеш більше кликати Мене: Мій ваале.

17 A nd I have turned aside the names of the lords from her mouth, And they are not remembered any more by their name.

(2-19) І усуну імена Ваалів з її уст, і вони не будуть більше згадувані своїм іменем.

18 A nd I have made to them a covenant in that day, with the beast of the field, And with the fowl of the heavens, And the creeping thing of the ground, And bow, and sword, and war I break from off the land, And have caused them to lie down confidently.

(2-20) І складу їм заповіта того дня з польовою звіриною, і з птаством небесним, та з плазуючим по землі, і лука й меча та війну знищу з землі, і покладу їх безпечно.

19 A nd I have betrothed thee to Me to the age, And betrothed thee to Me in righteousness, And in judgment, and kindness, and mercies,

(2-21) І заручуся з тобою навіки, і заручуся з тобою справедливістю, і правосуддям, і милістю та любов'ю.

20 A nd betrothed thee to Me in faithfulness, And thou hast known Jehovah.

(2-22) І заручуся з тобою вірністю, і ти пізнаєш Господа.

21 A nd it hath come to pass in that day, I answer -- an affirmation of Jehovah, I answer the heavens, and they answer the earth.

(2-23) І станеться того дня, Я почую, говорить Господь, почую небо, а воно почує землю,

22 A nd the earth doth answer the corn, And the new wine, and the oil, And they answer Jezreel.

(2-24) а земля задоволить збіжжя, і виноградний сік, і оливу, а вони задовольнять Їзреела.

23 A nd I have sowed her to Me in the land, And I have pitied Lo-Ruhamah, And I have said to Lo-Ammi, My people thou, and it saith, My God!'

(2-25) І обсію її Собі на землі, і змилуюся над Ло-Рухамою, і скажу до Ло-Амі: Ти народ Мій, а він скаже: Мій Боже!
