1 A nd a great sign was seen in the heaven, a woman arrayed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars,

І з'явилась на небі велика ознака: Жінка, зодягнена в сонце, а під ногами її місяць, а на її голові вінок із дванадцяти зір.

2 a nd being with child she doth cry out, travailing and pained to bring forth.

І вона мала в утробі, і кричала від болю, та муки терпіла від породу.

3 A nd there was seen another sign in the heaven, and, lo, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his head seven diadems,

І з'явилася інша ознака на небі, ось змій червоноогняний, великий, що мав сім голів та десять рогів, а на його головах сім вінців.

4 a nd his tail doth draw the third of the stars of the heaven, and he did cast them to the earth; and the dragon did stand before the woman who is about to bring forth, that when she may bring forth, her child he may devour;

Його хвіст змів третину зір із Неба та й кинув додолу. І змій стояв перед жінкою, що мала вродити, щоб з'їсти дитину її, коли вродить...

5 a nd she brought forth a male child, who is about to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, and caught away was her child unto God and His throne,

І дитину вродила вона чоловічої статі, що всі народи має пасти залізним жезлом. І дитина її була взята до Бога, і до престолу Його.

6 a nd the woman did flee to the wilderness, where she hath a place made ready from God, that there they may nourish her -- days a thousand, two hundred, sixty.

А жінка втекла на пустиню, де вона мала місце, від Бога для неї вготоване, щоб там годували її тисячу двісті шістдесят день.

7 A nd there came war in the heaven; Michael and his messengers did war against the dragon, and the dragon did war, and his messengers,

І сталась на небі війна: Михаїл та його Анголи вчинили зо змієм війну. І змій воював та його анголи,

8 a nd they did not prevail, nor was their place found any more in the heaven;

та не втрималися, і вже не знайшлося їм місця на небі.

9 a nd the great dragon was cast forth -- the old serpent, who is called `Devil,' and `the Adversary,' who is leading astray the whole world -- he was cast forth to the earth, and his messengers were cast forth with him.

І скинений був змій великий, вуж стародавній, що зветься диявол і сатана, що зводить усесвіт, і скинений був він додолу, а з ним і його анголи були скинені.

10 A nd I heard a great voice saying in the heaven, `Now did come the salvation, and the power, and the reign, of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because cast down was the accuser of our brethren, who is accusing them before our God day and night;

І я почув гучний голос на небі, який говорив: Тепер настало спасіння, і сила, і царство нашого Бога, і влада Христа Його, бо скинений той, хто братів наших скаржив, хто перед нашим Богом оскаржував їх день і ніч!

11 a nd they did overcome him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life -- unto death;

І вони його перемогли кров'ю Агнця та словом свого засвідчення, і не полюбили життя свого навіть до смерти!

12 b ecause of this be glad, ye heavens, and those in them who do tabernacle; wo to those inhabiting the land and the sea, because the Devil did go down unto you, having great wrath, having known that he hath little time.'

Через це звеселися ти, небо, та ті, хто на нім пробуває! Горе землі та морю, до вас бо диявол зійшов, маючи лютість велику, знаючи, що короткий час має!

13 A nd when the dragon saw that he was cast forth to the earth, he pursued the woman who did bring forth the male,

А коли змій побачив, що додолу він скинений, то став переслідувати жінку, що вродила хлоп'я.

14 a nd there were given to the woman two wings of the great eagle, that she may fly to the wilderness, to her place, where she is nourished a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent;

І жінці дані були дві крилі великого орла, щоб від змія летіла в пустиню до місця свого, де будуть її годувати час, і часи, і півчасу.

15 a nd the serpent did cast forth after the woman, out of his mouth, water as a river, that he may cause her to be carried away by the river,

І пустив змій за жінкою з уст своїх воду, як річку, щоб річка схопила її.

16 a nd the land did help the woman, and the land did open its mouth and did swallow up the river, that the dragon did cast forth out of his mouth;

Та жінці земля помогла, і розкрила земля свої уста, та й випила річку, яку змій був пустив із своїх уст...

17 a nd the dragon was angry against the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, those keeping the commands of God, and having the testimony of Jesus Christ.

І змій розлютувався на жінку, і пішов воювати з останком насіння її, що вони бережуть Божі заповіді та мають свідоцтво Ісусове.
