А в Ашхура, батька Текої, були дві жінки: Хел'а та Наара.

І породила йому Наара Ахуззама, і Хефера, і Темені, і Ахаштарі, оце сини Наарині.

7 A nd sons of Helah: Zereth, and Zohar, and Ethnan.

А сини Хел'ині: Церет, і Цохар, і Етнан.

8 A nd Coz begat Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel son of Harum.

А Коц породив Анува, і Гаццовеву, і роди Ахархела, сина Гарумового.

9 A nd Jabez is honoured above his brethren, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, `Because I have brought forth with grief.'

А сини Калева, Єфуннеєвого сина: Іру, Ела та Наам. А Елин син Кеназ.

А сини Єгаллел'їлові: Зіф і Зіфа, Тір'я й Асар'їл.

А сини Езри: Єтер, і Меред, і Ефер, і Ялон. А оце сини Біт'ї, фараонової дочки, що взяв Меред; і вона зачала й породила Мір'яма, і Шаммая, і Їшбаха, батька Ештемої.

А жінка його юдеянка породила Єреда, батька Ґедору, і Хевера, батька Сохо, і Єкутіїла, батька Заноаха.

Сини Шели, Юдиного сина: Ер, батько Лехи, і Лада, батько Мареші, і роди дому робітників віссону, з дому Ашбеа.

І Йокін, і люди Козеви, і Йоаш, і Сараф, що володіли Моавом, і Яшуві-Лехем. Та це справи стародавні.

Вони були ганчарі, і замешкували садки та городи; вони жили там у царя для його роботи.

А сини Мішми: Хаммуїл син його, його син Заккур, його син Шім'ї.

А в Шім'ї було шістнадцять синів та шість дочок, а брати його не мали багатьох синів, і не помножили ввесь свій рід так, як сини Юдині.

І осілися вони в Беер-Шеві, і в Моладі, і в Хацар-Шуалі,

і в Білзі, і в Ецемі, і в Толаді,

30 a nd in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag,

і в Бетуїлі, і в Хормі, і в Ціклаґу,

31 a nd in Beth-Marcaboth, and in Hazar-Susim, and in Beth-Birei, and in Shaarim; these their cities till the reigning of David.

і в Бет-Маркавоті, і в Хацар-Сусімі, і в Бет-Бір'і, і в Шаараїмі, оце їхні міста аж до зацарювання Давидового.

32 A nd their villages Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities,

А їхні осади: Етам, і Аїн, Ріммон, і Тохен, і Ашан, п'ятеро міст.

33 a nd all their villages that round about these cities unto Baal; these their dwellings, and they have their genealogy:

А всі їхні осади, що навколо тих міст, аж до Баалу; це місця їх оселення та родоводи їх про них.

34 e ven Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah son of Amaziah,

А Мешовав, і Ямлех, і Йоша, син Амації,

35 a nd Joel, and Jehu son of Josibiah, son of Seraiah, son of Asiel,

і Йоїл, і Єгу, син Йошів'ї, сина Сераї, сина Асіїлового,

36 a nd Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

і Елйоенай, і Якова, і Шохая, і Асая, і Адіїл, і Єсіміїл, і Беная,

37 a nd Ziza son of Shiphi, son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah.

і Зіза, син Шіф'і, сина Аллона, сина Єдаї, сина Шімрі, сина Шемаї.

38 T hese who are coming in by name princes in their families, and the house of their fathers have broken forth into a multitude;

Це ті, що входять в імена князів у свої роди, а дім своїх батьків сильно розмножили.

39 a nd they go to the entrance of Gedor, unto the east of the valley, to seek pasture for their flock,

І пішли вони до Мево-Ґедору, аж до східнього боку долини, щоб пошукати пасовиська для своїх отар.

40 a nd they find pasture, fat and good, and the land broad of sides, and quiet, and safe, for of Ham are those dwelling there before.

І знайшли вони пасовисько сите та добре, а той край був просторий, і тихий та спокійний, бо від Хама походили ті, що сиділи там колись.

41 A nd these who are written by name come in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smite their tents, and the habitations that have been found there, and devote them to destruction unto this day, and dwell in their stead, because pasture for their flock there.

І пішли ці, записані іменами за днів Єзекії, царя Юдиного, і розбили їхні намети там, і побили меінітів, що були знайдені там, що їх учинили закляттям аж до цього дня, й осілися замість них, бо там пасовисько для їхньої дрібної худоби.

42 A nd of them, of the sons of Simeon, there have gone to mount Seir, five hundred men, and Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, sons of Ishi, at their head,

А з них, з Симеонових синів, пішли на гору Сеїр п'ять сотень чоловіка, а Пелатія, і Неарія, і Рефая, і Уззіїл, сини Їш'ї, були на чолі їх.

43 a nd they smite the remnant of those escaped of Amalek, and dwell there unto this day.

І вони побили останок урятованих Амалика, й осілися там аж до цього дня.
