1 A nd after the ceasing of the tumult, Paul having called near the disciples, and having embraced, went forth to go on to Macedonia;

А як заколот стих, то Павло скликав учнів, і, потішивши та попрощавшись із ними, вибрався йти в Македонію.

2 a nd having gone through those parts, and having exhorted them with many words, he came to Greece;

Перейшовши ж ті сторони та підбадьоривши їх довгим словом, прибув до Геллади,

3 h aving made also three months' -- a counsel of the Jews having been against him -- being about to set forth to Syria, there came a resolution of returning through Macedonia.

і прожив там три місяці. А як він захотів був відплинути в Сирію, то змову на нього вчинили юдеї, тому він узяв думку вертатись через Македонію.

4 A nd there were accompanying him unto Asia, Sopater of Berea, and of Thessalonians Aristarchus and Secundus, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus, and of Asiatics Tychicus and Trophimus;

Разом із ним пішов Сопатер Піррів із Верії, Аристарх та Секунд із Солуня, і Гай дерв'янин, і Тимофій, а з азійців Тихик та Трохим.

5 t hese, having gone before, did remain for us in Troas,

Вони відбули наперед, і нас дожидали в Троаді.

6 a nd we sailed, after the days of the unleavened food, from Philippi, and came unto them to Troas in five days, where we abode seven days.

А ми відпливли із Филипів по святах Опрісноків, і прибули днів за п'ять у Троаду до них, де сім день прожили.

7 A nd on the first of the week, the disciples having been gathered together to break bread, Paul was discoursing to them, about to depart on the morrow, he was also continuing the discourse till midnight,

А дня першого в тижні, як учні зібралися на ламання хліба, Павло мав промову до них, бо вранці збирався відбути, і затягнув своє слово до півночі.

8 a nd there were many lamps in the upper chamber where they were gathered together,

А в горниці, де зібралися ми, було багато світел.

9 a nd there was sitting a certain youth, by name Eutychus, upon the window -- being borne down by a deep sleep, Paul discoursing long -- he having sunk down from the sleep, fell down from the third story, and was lifted up dead.

Юнак же один, Євтих на ім'я, сидів на вікні. Його обгорнув міцний сон, бо задовго Павло промовляв, і він сонний хитнувся, і додолу упав із третього поверху, і підняли його мертвого...

10 A nd Paul, having gone down, fell upon him, and having embraced, said, `Make no tumult, for his life is in him;'

Зійшов же Павло та до нього припав, і, обнявши його, проказав: Заспокойтесь, бо душа його в ньому!

11 a nd having come up, and having broken bread, and having tasted, for a long time also having talked -- till daylight, so he went forth,

А вернувшись, він хліб переломив і спожив, і бесіду довго точив, аж до досвітку, потім відбув.

12 a nd they brought up the lad alive, and were comforted in no ordinary measure.

А хлопця живим привели, і зраділи немало.

13 A nd we having gone before unto the ship, did sail to Assos, thence intending to take in Paul, for so he had arranged, intending himself to go on foot;

А ми наперед пішли до корабля, та в Асс попливли, щоб звідти забрати Павла, бо він так ізвелів, сам бажаючи пішки піти.

14 a nd when he met with us at Assos, having taken him up, we came to Mitylene,

А коли він із нами зійшовся в Ассі, ми взяли його та прибули в Мітілену.

15 a nd thence having sailed, on the morrow we came over-against Chios, and the next day we arrived at Samos, and having remained in Trogyllium, on the following day we came to Miletus,

І, відплинувши звідти, ми назавтра пристали навпроти Хіосу, а другого дня припливли до Самосу, наступного ж ми прибули до Мілету.

16 f or Paul decided to sail past Ephesus, that there may not be to him a loss of time in Asia, for he hasted, if it were possible for him, on the day of the Pentecost to be at Jerusalem.

Бо Павло захотів поминути Ефес, щоб йому не баритися в Азії, бо він квапився, коли буде можливе, бути в Єрусалимі на день П'ятдесятниці.

17 A nd from Miletus, having sent to Ephesus, he called for the elders of the assembly,

А з Мілету послав до Ефесу, і прикликав пресвітерів Церкви.

18 a nd when they were come unto him, he said to them, `Ye -- ye know from the first day in which I came to Asia, how, with you at all times I was;

І, як до нього вони прибули, він промовив до них: Ви знаєте, як із першого дня, відколи прибув в Азію, я з вами ввесь час перебував,

19 s erving the Lord with all humility, and many tears, and temptations, that befell me in the counsels of the Jews against;

і служив Господеві з усією покорою, і з рясними слізьми та напастями, що спіткали мене від юдейської змови,

20 h ow nothing I did keep back of what things are profitable, not to declare to you, and to teach you publicly, and in every house,

як нічого корисного я не минув, щоб його вам звістити й навчити вас прилюдно і в домах.

21 t estifying fully both to Jews and Greeks, toward God reformation, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

І я свідчив юдеям та гелленам, щоб вони перед Богом покаялись, та ввірували в Господа нашого Ісуса Христа.

22 ` And now, lo, I -- bound in the Spirit -- go on to Jerusalem, the things that shall befall me in it not knowing,

І ось тепер, побуджений Духом, подаюсь я в Єрусалим, не відаючи, що там трапитись має мені,

23 s ave that the Holy Spirit in every city doth testify fully, saying, that for me bonds and tribulations remain;

тільки Дух Святий в кожному місті засвідчує, кажучи, що кайдани та муки чекають мене...

24 b ut I make account of none of these, neither do I count my life precious to myself, so that I finish my course with joy, and the ministration that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify fully the good news of the grace of God.

Але я ні про що не турбуюсь, і свого життя не вважаю для себе цінним, аби но скінчити дорогу свою та служіння, яке я одержав від Господа Ісуса, щоб засвідчити Євангелію благодаті Божої.

25 ` And now, lo, I have known that no more shall ye see my face, -- ye all among whom I did go preaching the reign of God;

І ось я знаю тепер, що обличчя мого більш не будете бачити всі ви, між якими ходив я, проповідуючи Царство Боже...

26 w herefore I take you to witness this day, that I clear from the blood of all,

Тому дня сьогоднішнього вам свідкую, що я чистий від крови всіх,

27 f or I did not keep back from declaring to you all the counsel of God.

бо я не вхилявсь об'являти вам усю волю Божу!

28 ` Take heed, therefore, to yourselves, and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit made you overseers, to feed the assembly of God that He acquired through His own blood,

Пильнуйте себе та всієї отари, в якій Святий Дух вас поставив єпископами, щоб пасти Церкву Божу, яку власною кров'ю набув Він.

29 f or I have known this, that there shall enter in, after my departing, grievous wolves unto you, not sparing the flock,

Бо я знаю, що як я відійду, то ввійдуть між вас вовки люті, що отари щадити не будуть...

30 a nd of your own selves there shall arise men, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

Із вас самих навіть мужі постануть, що будуть казати перекручене, аби тільки учнів тягнути за собою...

31 ` Therefore, watch, remembering that three years, night and day, I did not cease with tears warning each one;

Тому то пильнуйте, пам'ятаючи, що я кожного з вас день і ніч безперестань навчав зо слізьми ось три роки.

32 a nd now, I commend you, brethren, to God, and to the word of His grace, that is able to build up, and to give you an inheritance among all those sanctified.

А тепер доручаю вас Богові та слову благодаті Його, Який має силу будувати та дати спадщину, серед усіх освячених.

33 ` The silver or gold or garments of no one did I covet;

Ні срібла, ані золота, ні одежі чиєїсь я не побажав...

34 a nd ye yourselves know that to my necessities, and to those who were with me, minister did these hands;

Самі знаєте, що ці руки мої послужили потребам моїм та отих, хто був зо мною.

35 a ll things I did shew you, that, thus labouring, it behoveth to partake with the ailing, to be mindful also of the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.'

Я вам усе показав, що, працюючи так, треба поміч давати слабим, та пам'ятати слова Господа Ісуса, бо Він Сам проказав: Блаженніше давати, ніж брати!

36 A nd these things having said, having bowed his knees, with them all, he did pray,

Проказавши ж оце, він навколішки впав, та й із ними всіма помолився.

37 a nd there came a great weeping to all, and having fallen upon the neck of Paul, they were kissing him,

І знявсь між усіма плач великий, і вони припадали на Павлову шию, і його цілували...

38 s orrowing most of all for the word that he had said -- that they are about no more to see his face; and they were accompanying him to the ship.

А найтяжче вони сумували з-за слова, яке він прорік, що не бачитимуть більш обличчя його. І вони провели його до корабля.
