1 ` At that time hath Jehovah said unto me, Grave for thee two tables of stone, like the first, and come up unto Me, into the mount, and thou hast made for thee an ark of wood,

Того часу сказав був до мене Господь: Витеши собі дві камінні таблиці, як перші, та й вийде до Мене на гору, і зроби собі дерев'яного ковчега.

2 a nd I write on the tables the words which were on the first tables, which thou hast broken, and thou hast placed them in the ark;

А Я напишу на тих таблицях слова, що були на перших таблицях, які ти побив, і покладеш їх у ковчезі.

3 a nd I make an ark of shittim wood, and grave two tables of stone like the first, and go up to the mount, and the two tables in my hand.

І зробив я ковчега з акаційного дерева, і витесав я дві камінні таблиці, як перші, та й зійшов на гору, а обидві таблиці в руці моїй.

4 ` And He writeth on the tables, according to the first writing, the Ten Matters, which Jehovah hath spoken unto you in the mount, out of the midst of the fire, in the day of the assembly, and Jehovah giveth them unto me,

І Він написав на тих таблицях, як перше письмо, Десять Заповідей, що Господь говорив був до вас на горі з середини огню в день зборів. І Господь дав їх мені.

5 a nd I turn and come down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made, and they are there, as Jehovah commanded me.

І обернувся я, та й зійшов із гори, і поклав ті таблиці, що зробив, до ковчегу. І були вони там, як наказав був Господь.

6 ` And the sons of Israel have journeyed from Beeroth of the sons of Jaakan to Mosera, there Aaron died, and he is buried there, and Eleazar his son doth act as priest in his stead;

А Ізраїлеві сини рушили з Беероту Яаканових синів до Мосери. Там помер Аарон, і був там похований, а священиком став замість нього його син Елеазар.

7 t hence they journeyed to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water.

А звідти рушили до Ґудґоди, а з Ґудґоди до Йотвати, до краю водних потоків.

8 ` At that time hath Jehovah separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, to stand before Jehovah, to serve Him, and to bless in His name, unto this day,

Того часу Господь відділив був Левієве плем'я, щоб носило ковчега Господнього заповіту, щоб стояло перед Господнім лицем, щоб служило Йому, і щоб благословляло Його Йменням аж до цього дня.

9 t herefore there hath not been to Levi a portion and inheritance with his brethren; Jehovah Himself his inheritance, as Jehovah thy God hath spoken to him.

Тому не було Левієві частки та спадку з братами. Господь Він спадщина його, як промовляв був Господь, Бог твій, йому.

10 ` And I -- I have stood in the mount, as the former days, forty days and forty nights, and Jehovah hearkeneth unto me also at that time; Jehovah hath not willed to destroy thee.

А я стояв на горі, як за тих перших днів, сорок день і сорок ночей. І вислухав Господь мене також цього разу, не захотів Господь погубити тебе.

11 ` And Jehovah saith unto me, Rise, go to journey before the people, and they go in and possess the land which I have sworn to their fathers to give to them.

І сказав був до мене Господь: Устань, іди в похід перед народом. І ввійдуть вони, і посядуть той Край, що Я присягнув був їхнім батькам дати їм.

12 ` And now, Israel, what is Jehovah thy God asking from thee, except to fear Jehovah thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,

А тепер, Ізраїлю, чого жадає від тебе Господь, Бог твій? Тільки того, щоб боятися Господа, Бога твого, ходити всіма Його дорогами, і любити Його, і служити Господеві, Богу твоєму, усім серцем своїм і всією душею своєю,

13 t o keep the commands of Jehovah, and His statutes which I am commanding thee to-day, for good to thee?

виконувати заповіді Господа та постанови Його, що я наказую тобі сьогодні, щоб було тобі добре.

14 ` Lo, to Jehovah thy God the heavens and the heavens of the heavens, the earth and all that in it;

Тож належить Господеві, Богу твоєму, небо, і небо небес, земля й усе, що на ній.

15 o nly in thy fathers hath Jehovah delighted -- to love them, and He doth fix on their seed after them -- on you, out of all the peoples as this day;

Тільки батьків твоїх уподобав Господь, щоб любити їх, і вибрав вас, їхнє насіння по них, зо всіх народів, як бачиш цього дня.

16 a nd ye have circumcised the foreskin of your heart, and your neck ye do not harden any more;

І ви обріжете крайню плоть свого серця, а шиї своєї не зробите більше твердою,

17 f or Jehovah your God -- He God of the gods, and Lord of the lords; God, the great, the mighty, and the fearful; who accepteth not persons, nor taketh a bribe;

бо Господь, Бог ваш Він Бог богів і Пан панів, Бог великий, сильний, та страшний, що не подивиться на обличчя, і підкупу не візьме.

18 H e is doing the judgment of fatherless and widow, and loving the sojourner, to give to him bread and raiment.

Він чинить суд сироті та вдові, і любить приходька, щоб дати йому хліба й одежу.

19 ` And ye have loved the sojourner, for sojourners ye were in the land of Egypt.

І будете ви любити приходька, бо приходьками були ви самі в єгипетськім краї.

20 ` Jehovah thy God thou dost fear, Him thou dost serve, and to Him thou dost cleave, and by His name thou dost swear.

Господа, Бога свого, будеш любити, Йому будеш служити, і до Нього будеш горнутись, а Йменням Його будеш присягати.

21 H e thy praise, and He thy God, who hath done with thee these great and fearful which thine eyes have seen:

Він хвала твоя, і Він Бог твій, що з тобою зробив був великі та страшні діла, які бачили очі твої.

22 w ith seventy persons did thy fathers go down to Egypt, and now hath Jehovah thy God made thee as stars of the heavens for multitude.

Сімдесятьма душами зійшли були твої батьки до Єгипту, а тепер, щодо численности, Господь, Бог твій, зробив тебе, як зорі на небі!
