1 A wake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion, Put on the garments of thy beauty, Jerusalem -- the Holy City; For enter no more into thee again, Do the uncircumcised and unclean.

Збудися, збудись, зодягнися, Сіоне, у силу свою, зодягнися у щати пишноти своєї, о Єрусалиме, о місто святе, бо вже необрізаний та занечищений більше не ввійде до тебе!

2 S hake thyself from dust, arise, sit, O Jerusalem, Bands of thy neck have loosed themselves, O captive, daughter of Zion.

Обтруси з себе порох, устань та сідай, Єрусалиме! Розв'яжи пута шиї своєї, о бранко, о дочко Сіону!

3 F or thus said Jehovah: `For nought ye have been sold, And not by money are ye redeemed.'

Бо Господь каже так: Задармо були ви попродані, тому будете викуплені не за срібло.

4 F or thus said the Lord Jehovah: `To Egypt My people went down at first to sojourn there, And Asshur -- for nought he hath oppressed it.

Бо так Господь Бог промовляє: До Єгипту зійшов був народ Мій впочатку, щоб мешкати там, а Ашшур за ніщо його тиснув.

5 A nd now, what -- to Me here, An affirmation of Jehovah, That taken is My people for nought? Its rulers cause howling, -- an affirmation of Jehovah, And continually all the day My name is despised.

А тепер що Мені тут, говорить Господь, коли взятий даремно народ Мій? Шаліють володарі їхні, говорить Господь, і постійно ввесь день Моє Ймення зневажене...

6 T herefore doth My people know My name, Therefore, in that day, Surely I He who is speaking, behold Me.'

Тому Моє Ймення пізнає народ Мій, тому того дня він пізнає, що Я то Отой, що говорить: Ось Я!

7 H ow comely on the mountains, Have been the feet of one proclaiming tidings, Sounding peace, proclaiming good tidings, Sounding salvation, Saying to Zion, `Reigned hath thy God.'

Які гарні на горах ноги благовісника, що звіщає про мир, що добро провіщає, що спасіння звіщає, що говорить Сіонові: Царює твій Бог!

8 T he voice of thy watchmen! They have lifted up the voice, together they cry aloud, Because eye to eye they see, in Jehovah's turning back Zion.

Слухай, твої сторожі зняли голос, укупі співають, бо бачать вони око-в-око, коли до Сіону Господь повертається.

9 B reak forth, sing together, O wastes of Jerusalem, For Jehovah hath comforted His people, He hath redeemed Jerusalem.

Радійте, співайте сумісно, о єрусалимські руїни, бо народа Свого Господь звеселив, викупив Єрусалима!

10 J ehovah hath made bare His holy arm Before the eyes of all the nations, And seen have all the ends of the earth, The salvation of our God.

Господь обнажив на очах усіх народів святеє рамено Своє, і спасіння від нашого Бога побачать всі кінці землі!

11 T urn aside, turn aside, go out thence, The unclean touch not, go out from her midst, Be ye pure, who are bearing the weapons of Jehovah.

Уступіться, вступіться та вийдіть ізвідти, нечистого не доторкайтеся, вийдіть з середини його, очистьтеся ви, що носите посуд Господній!

12 F or not in haste do ye go out, Yea, with flight ye go not on, For going before you Jehovah, And gathering you the God of Israel!

Бо не в поспіху вийдете і не навтеки ви підете, бо піде Господь перед вами, за вами ж Ізраїлів Бог.

13 L o, My servant doth act wisely, He is high, and hath been lifted up, And hath been very high.

Ось стане розумне робити Мій Отрок, підійметься й буде повищений, і височенним Він стане!

14 A s astonished at thee have been many, (So marred by man his appearance, And his form by sons of men.)

Як багато-хто Ним дивувались, такий то був змінений образ Його, що й не був людиною, а вигляд Його, що й не був сином людським!

15 S o doth he sprinkle many nations. Concerning him kings shut their mouth, For that which was not recounted to them they have seen, And that which they had not heard they have understood!

так Він здивує численних народів, царі свої уста замкнуть перед Ним, бо побачать, про що не говорено їм, і зрозуміють, чого не чували вони!...
