1 A nd it cometh to pass, at the end of two years of days that Pharaoh is dreaming, and lo, he is standing by the River,

І сталося по закінченні двох літ часу, і сниться фараонові, ось він стоїть над Річкою.

2 a nd lo, from the River coming up are seven kine, of fair appearance, and fat flesh, and they feed among the reeds;

І ось виходять із Річки семеро корів гарного вигляду й ситого тіла, і паслися на лузі.

3 a nd lo, seven other kine are coming up after them out of the River, of bad appearance, and lean flesh, and they stand near the kine on the edge of the River,

А ось виходять із Річки за ними семеро корів інших, бридкі виглядом і худі тілом. І вони стали при тих коровах на березі Річки.

4 a nd the kine of bad appearance and lean flesh eat up the seven kine of fair appearance, and fat -- and Pharaoh awaketh.

І корови бридкі виглядом і худі тілом поз'їдали сім корів гарних виглядом і ситих. І прокинувся фараон.

5 A nd he sleepeth, and dreameth a second time, and lo, seven ears are coming up on one stalk, fat and good,

І знову заснув він. І снилося йому вдруге, аж ось сходять на однім стеблі семеро колосків здорових та добрих.

6 a nd lo, seven ears, thin, and blasted with an east wind, are springing up after them;

А ось виростає за ними семеро колосків тонких та спалених східнім вітром.

7 a nd the thin ears swallow the seven fat and full ears -- and Pharaoh awaketh, and lo, a dream.

І проковтнули ті тонкі колоски сім колосків здорових та повних. І прокинувся фараон, а то був сон.

8 A nd it cometh to pass in the morning, that his spirit is moved, and he sendeth and calleth all the scribes of Egypt, and all its wise men, and Pharaoh recounteth to them his dream, and there is no interpreter of them to Pharaoh.

І сталося рано, і занепокоївся дух його. І послав він, і поскликав усіх ворожбитів Єгипту та всіх мудреців його. І фараон розповів їм свій сон, та ніхто не міг відгадати їх фараонові.

9 A nd the chief of the butlers speaketh with Pharaoh, saying, `My sin I mention this day:

І говорив начальник чашників з фараоном, кажучи: Я сьогодні згадую гріхи свої.

10 P haraoh hath been wroth against his servants, and giveth me into charge in the house of the chief of the executioners, me and the chief of the bakers;

Розгнівався був фараон на рабів своїх, і вмістив мене під варту дому начальника царської сторожі, мене й начальника пекарів.

11 a nd we dream a dream in one night, I and he, each according to the interpretation of his dream we have dreamed.

І однієї ночі снився нам сон, мені та йому, кожному снився сон за своїм значенням.

12 A nd there with us a youth, a Hebrew, servant to the chief of the executioners, and we recount to him, and he interpreteth to us our dreams, each according to his dream hath he interpreted,

А там з нами був єврейський юнак, раб начальника царської сторожі. І ми розповіли йому, а він відгадав нам наші сни, кожному за сном його відгадав.

13 a nd it cometh to pass, as he hath interpreted to us so it hath been, me he put back on my station, and him he hanged.'

І сталося, як він відгадав нам, так і трапилося: мене ти вернув на становище моє, а того повісив.

14 A nd Pharaoh sendeth and calleth Joseph, and they cause him to run out of the pit, and he shaveth, and changeth his garments, and cometh in unto Pharaoh.

І послав фараон, і покликав Йосипа, і його сквапно вивели з в'язниці. І оголився, і змінив одежу свою, і він прибув до фараона.

15 A nd Pharaoh saith unto Joseph, `A dream I have dreamed, and there is no interpreter of it, and I -- I have heard concerning thee, saying, Thou understandest a dream to interpret it,'

І промовив фараон до Йосипа: Снився мені сон, та нема, хто б відгадав його. А я чув про тебе таке: ти вислухуєш сон, щоб відгадати його.

16 a nd Joseph answereth Pharaoh, saying, `Without me -- God doth answer Pharaoh with peace.'

А Йосип сказав до фараона, говорячи: Не я, Бог дасть у відповідь мир фараонові.

17 A nd Pharaoh speaketh unto Joseph: `In my dream, lo, I am standing by the edge of the River,

І сказав фараон до Йосипа: Бачив я в сні своїм ось я стою на березі Річки.

18 a nd lo, out of the River coming up are seven kine, fat flesh, and of fair form, and they feed among the reeds;

І ось виходять із Річки семеро корів ситих тілом і гарних виглядом. І вони паслися на лузі.

19 a nd lo, seven other kine are coming up after them, thin, and of very bad form, and lean flesh; I have not seen like these in all the land of Egypt for badness.

А ось виходять за ними семеро корів інші, бідні та дуже бридкі виглядом і худі тілом. Таких бридких, як вони, я не бачив у всьому краї єгипетському.

20 ` And the lean and the bad kine eat up the first seven fat kine,

І корови худі та бридкі поз'їдали сім корів перших ситих.

21 a nd they come in unto their midst, and it hath not been known that they have come in unto their midst, and their appearance bad as at the commencement; and I awake.

І ввійшли вони до черева їхнього, та не було знати, що ввійшли вони до черева їхнього, і вигляд їх був лихий, як на початку. І я прокинувся.

22 ` And I see in my dream, and lo, seven ears are coming up on one stalk, full and good;

І побачив я в сні своїм знов, аж ось сходять на однім стеблі семеро колосків повних та добрих.

23 a nd lo, seven ears, withered, thin, blasted with an east wind, are springing up after them;

А ось виростає за ними семеро колосків худих, тонких, спалених східнім вітром.

24 a nd the thin ears swallow the seven good ears; and I tell unto the scribes, and there is none declaring to me.'

І проковтнули ті тонкі колоски сім колосків добрих. І розповів я те ворожбитам, та не було, хто б мені роз'яснив.

25 A nd Joseph saith unto Pharaoh, `The dream of Pharaoh is one: that which God is doing he hath declared to Pharaoh;

І сказав Йосип до фараона: Сон фараонів один він. Що Бог робить, те Він звістив фараонові.

26 t he seven good kine are seven years, and the seven good ears are seven years, the dream is one;

Семеро корів добрих то сім літ, і семеро колосків добрих сім літ вони. А сон один він.

27 a nd the seven thin and bad kine which are coming up after them are seven years, and the seven empty ears, blasted with an east wind, are seven years of famine;

А сім корів худих і бридких, що вийшли за ними, сім літ вони, і сім колосків порожніх і спалених східнім вітром то будуть сім літ голодних.

28 t his the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: That which God is doing, he hath shewn Pharaoh.

Оце та річ, що я сказав був фараонові: Що Бог робить, те Він показав фараонові.

29 ` Lo, seven years are coming of great abundance in all the land of Egypt,

Ось приходять сім літ, великий достаток у всім краї єгипетськім.

30 a nd seven years of famine have arisen after them, and all the plenty is forgotten in the land of Egypt, and the famine hath finished the land,

А по них настануть сім літ голодних, і буде забутий увесь той достаток в єгипетській землі, і голод винищить край.

31 a nd the plenty is not known in the land because of that famine afterwards, for it very grievous.

І не буде видно того достатку в краї через той голод, що настане потім, бо він буде дуже тяжкий.

32 ` And because of the repeating of the dream unto Pharaoh twice, surely the thing is established by God, and God is hastening to do it.

А що сон повторився фараонові двічі, це значить, що справа ця постановлена від Бога, і Бог незабаром виконає її.

33 ` And now, let Pharaoh provide a man, intelligent and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt;

А тепер нехай фараон наздрить чоловіка розумного й мудрого, і нехай поставить його над єгипетською землею.

34 l et Pharaoh make and appoint overseers over the land, and receive a fifth of the land of Egypt in the seven years of plenty,

Нехай учинить фараон, і нехай призначить урядників над краєм, і нехай за сім літ достатку збирає п'ятину врожаю єгипетської землі.

35 a nd they gather all the food of these good years that are coming, and heap up corn under the hand of Pharaoh -- food in the cities; and they have kept,

І нехай вони позбирають усю їжу тих добрих років, що приходять, і нехай вони позбирають збіжжя під руку фараонову, на їжу по містах, і нехай бережуть.

36 a nd the food hath been for a store for the land, for the seven years of famine which are in the land of Egypt; and the land is cut off by the famine.'

І буде та їжа на запас для краю на сім літ голодних, що настануть в єгипетській землі, і край не буде знищений голодом.

37 A nd the thing is good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants,

І була ця річ добра в очах фараона та в очах усіх його рабів.

38 a nd Pharaoh saith unto his servants, `Do we find like this, a man in whom the spirit of God ?'

І сказав фараон своїм рабам: Чи знайдеться чоловік, як оцей, що Дух Божий у нім?

39 a nd Pharaoh saith unto Joseph, `After God's causing thee to know all this, there is none intelligent and wise as thou;

І сказав фараон Йосипові: Що Бог відкрив тобі це все, то немає такого розумного й мудрого, як ти.

40 t hou -- thou art over my house, and at thy mouth do all my people kiss; only in the throne I am greater than thou.'

Ти будеш над домом моїм, а слів твоїх уст буде слухатися ввесь народ мій. Тільки троном я буду вищий від тебе.

41 A nd Pharaoh saith unto Joseph, `See, I have put thee over all the land of Egypt.'

І сказав фараон Йосипові: Дивись, я поставив тебе над усім краєм єгипетським.

42 A nd Pharaoh turneth aside his seal-ring from off his hand, and putteth it on the hand of Joseph, and clotheth him garments of fine linen, and placeth a chain of gold on his neck,

І зняв фараон персня свого з своєї руки, та й дав його на руку Йосипову, і зодягнув його в одежу віссонну, а на шию йому повісив золотого ланцюга.

43 a nd causeth him to ride in the second chariot which he hath, and they proclaim before him, `Bow the knee!' and -- to put him over all the land of Egypt.

І зробив, що він їздив його другим повозом, і кричали перед обличчям його: Кланяйтеся! І поставив його над усім єгипетським краєм.

44 A nd Pharaoh saith unto Joseph, `I Pharaoh, and without thee a man doth not lift up his hand and his foot in all the land of Egypt;'

І сказав фараон Йосипові: Я фараон, а без тебе ніхто не підійме своєї руки та своєї ноги в усім краї єгипетськім.

45 a nd Pharaoh calleth Joseph's name Zaphnath-Paaneah, and he giveth to him Asenath daughter of Poti-Pherah, priest of On, for a wife, and Joseph goeth out over the land of Egypt.

І назвав фараон ім'я Йосипові: Цофнат-Панеах, і дав йому за жінку Оснату, дочку Поті-Фера, жерця Ону. І Йосип піднявся над єгипетським краєм.

46 A nd Joseph a son of thirty years in his standing before Pharaoh king of Egypt, and Joseph goeth out from the presence of Pharaoh, and passeth over through all the land of Egypt;

А Йосип був віку тридцяти літ, коли він став перед лицем фараона, царя єгипетського. І пішов Йосип від лиця фараонового, і перейшов через увесь єгипетський край.

47 a nd the land maketh in the seven years of plenty by handfuls.

А земля в сім літ достатку родила на повні жмені.

48 A nd he gathereth all the food of the seven years which have been in the land of Egypt, and putteth food in the cities; the food of the field which round about city hath he put in its midst;

І зібрав він усю їжу семи літ, що була в єгипетськім краї, і вмістив їжу по містах: їжу поля міста, що навколо нього, вмістив у ньому.

49 a nd Joseph gathereth corn as sand of the sea, multiplying exceedingly, until that he hath ceased to number, for there is no number.

І зібрав Йосип збіжжя дуже багато, як морський пісок, аж перестав рахувати, бо не було вже числа.

50 A nd to Joseph were born two sons before the year of famine cometh, whom Asenath daughter of Poti-Pherah, priest of On, hath borne to him,

А Йосипові, поки прийшов рік голодний, уродилися два сини, що вродила йому Осната, дочка Поті-Фера, жерця Ону.

51 a nd Joseph calleth the name of the first-born Manasseh: `for, God hath made me to forget all my labour, and all the house of my father;'

І назвав Йосип ім'я перворідному: Манасія, бо Бог зробив мені, що я забув усе своє терпіння та ввесь дім мого батька.

52 a nd the name of the second he hath called Ephraim: `for, God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of mine affliction.'

А ймення другому назвав: Єфрем, бо розмножив мене Бог у краї недолі моєї.

53 A nd the seven years of plenty are completed which have been in the land of Egypt,

І скінчилися сім літ достатку, що були в єгипетськім краї.

54 a nd the seven years of famine begin to come, as Joseph said, and famine is in all the lands, but in all the land of Egypt hath been bread;

І зачали наступати сім літ голодні, як сказав був Йосип. І був голод по всіх краях, а в усім єгипетськім краї був хліб.

55 a nd all the land of Egypt is famished, and the people crieth unto Pharaoh for bread, and Pharaoh saith to all the Egyptians, `Go unto Joseph; that which he saith to you -- do.'

Але виголоднів увесь єгипетський край, а народ став кричати до фараона про хліб. І сказав фараон усьому Єгиптові: Ідіть до Йосипа. Що він вам скаже, те робіть.

56 A nd the famine has been over all the face of the land, and Joseph openeth all which have in them, and selleth to the Egyptians; and the famine is severe in the land of Egypt,

І був той голод на всій поверхні землі. І відчинив Йосип усе, що було в них, і продавав поживу Єгиптові. А голод зміцнявся в єгипетськім краї.

57 a nd all the earth hath come to Egypt, to buy, unto Joseph, for the famine was severe in all the earth.

І прибували зо всієї землі до Йосипа купити поживи, бо голод зміцнявся по всій землі.
