1 A nd David is old, and satisfied with days, and causeth his son Solomon to reign over Israel,

А коли Давид постарів і наситився днями, то він поставив царем над Ізраїлем сина свого Соломона.

2 a nd gathereth all the heads of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites;

І зібрав він усіх Ізраїлевих князів, і священиків та Левитів.

3 a nd the Levites are numbered from a son of thirty years and upward, and their number, by their polls, is of mighty men thirty and eight thousand.

І були перелічені Левити від віку тридцяти років і вище, і було число їх, за їхніми головами, за мужчинами тридцять і вісім тисяч.

4 O f these to preside over the work of the house of Jehovah twenty and four thousand, and officers and judges six thousand,

Із них для керування над роботою Господнього дому двадцять і чотири тисячі, а урядників та суддів шість тисяч,

5 a nd four thousand gatekeepers, and four thousand giving praise to Jehovah, `with instruments that I made for praising,'

і чотири тисячі придверних, і чотири тисячі тих, що славлять Господа на музичних знаряддях, які я зробив на славлення.

6 A nd David distributeth them into courses: Of the sons of Levi: of Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

І поділив їх Давид на черги за синами Левія, для Ґершона, Кегата та Мерарі.

7 O f the Gershonite: Laadan and Shimei.

З Ґершонівців Ладан і Шім'ї.

8 S ons of Laadan: the head Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.

9 S ons of Shimei Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three; these heads of the fathers of Laadan.

Сини Шім'ї: Шеломіт, і Хазаїл, і Гаран, троє, вони голови батьківських домів Ладана.

10 A nd sons of Shimei Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah; these sons of Shimei, four.

А сини Шім'ї: Яхат, Зіза, і Єуш, і Берія, оце сини Шім'ї, четверо.

11 A nd Jahath is the head, and Zizah the second, and Jeush and Beriah have not multiplied sons, and they become the house of a father by one numbering.

І був Яхат головою, а Зіза другий, а Єуш та Берія не мали багато синів, і стали за один батьківський дім при переліченні.

12 S ons of Kohath Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.

Кегатові сини: Амрам, Іцгар, Хеврон та Уззіїл, четверо.

13 S ons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron is separated for his sanctifying the holy of holies, he and his sons -- unto the age, to make perfume before Jehovah, to serve Him, and to bless in His name -- unto the age.

Амрамові сини: Аарон та Мойсей. І був відділений Аарон, щоб посвятити його до Святого Святих, його та синів його аж навіки, щоб кадити перед лицем Господа, щоб служити Йому та щоб благословляти Ім'ям Його аж навіки.

14 A s to Moses, the man of God, his sons are called after the tribe of Levi.

15 S ons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.

Сини Мойсеєві: Ґершом та Еліезер.

16 S ons of Gershom: Shebuel the head.

Сини Ґершомові: Шевуїл, голова.

17 A nd sons of Eliezer are Rehabiah the head, and Eliezer had no other sons, and the sons of Rehabiah have multiplied exceedingly.

А сини Еліезерові були: Рехавія, голова; і не було в Еліезера інших синів, а сини Рехавії сильно помножились.

18 S ons of Izhar: Shelomith the head.

Сини Їцгарові: Шеломіт, голова.

19 S ons of Hebron: Jeriah the head, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.

Сини Хевронові: Єрійя голова, Амарія другий, Яхазіїл третій, і Єкам'ам четвертий.

20 S ons of Uzziel: Micah the head, and Ishshiah, the second.

Сини Уззіїлові: Міхал голова, а Їшшійя другий.

21 S ons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.

Сини Мерарієві: Махлі й Муші. Сини Махлі: Елеазар і Кіш.

22 A nd Eleazar dieth, and he had no sons, but daughters, and sons of Kish their brethren take them.

І помер Елеазар, і не було в нього синів, бо тільки дочки, і їх побрали собі Кішові сини, їхні брати.

23 S ons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth, three.

Сини Мушієві: Махлі, і Едер, і Єремот, троє.

24 T hese sons of Levi, by the house of their fathers, heads of the fathers, by their appointments, in the number of names, by their polls, doing the work for the service of the house of Jehovah, from a son of twenty years and upward,

Оце сини Левієві за домом батьків їх, голови дому батьків за перегляненням їхнім, числом імен за особами їх, що чинили роботу для будови Господнього дому, від віку двадцяти років і вище.

25 f or David said, `Jehovah, God of Israel, hath given rest to His people, and He doth tabernacle in Jerusalem unto the age;'

Бо Давид сказав: Господь, Бог Ізраїля, дав мир Своєму народові, і він осівся в Єрусалимі аж навіки.

26 a nd also of the Levites, `None to bear the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service;'

І також Левитам не треба носити скинії та всіх речей її для служби їй,

27 f or by the last words of David they the number of the sons of Levi from a son of twenty years and upward,

бо за останніми наказами Давида вони становлять число Левієвих синів від віку двадцяти літ і вище.

28 f or their station at the side of the sons of Aaron, for the service of the house of Jehovah, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the cleansing of every holy thing, and the work of the service of the house of God,

Бо їхнє становище при руці Ааронових синів для служби Господнього дому над подвір'ями, і над кімнатами, і над чистістю усіх святощів та роботи служби Господнього дому,

29 a nd for the bread of the arrangement, and for fine flour for present, and for the thin unleavened cakes, and for the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all measure and measure;

і при хлібі виставнім, і при пшеничній муці на хлібну жертву та на прісні коржі, і при сковородах, і при праженні, і при всякій мірі ваги та мірі довжини.

30 a nd to stand, morning by morning, to give thanks, and to give praise to Jehovah, and so at evening;

І щоб ставати щоранку на подяку та на хвалу Господа, і так і на вечір.

31 a nd for all the burnt-offerings -- burnt-offerings to Jehovah for sabbaths, for new moons, and for appointed seasons, by number, according to the ordinance upon them continually, before Jehovah.

І при всякому спаленні цілопалень для Господа на суботи, на молодики, і на свята в числі за правом на них, завжди перед лицем Господнім.

32 A nd they have kept the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron, their brethren, for the service of the house of Jehovah.

І чинили вони охорону скинії заповіту, і сторожу святині, і охорону Ааронових синів, своїх братів, при службі Господнього дому.
