1 ` And this the command, the statutes and the judgments which Jehovah your God hath commanded to teach you, to do in the land which ye are passing over thither to possess it,

А оце заповідь, постанови та закони, що наказав Господь, Бог ваш, щоб навчити вас виконувати їх у Краї, що ви переходите туди посісти його,

2 s o that thou dost fear Jehovah thy God, to keep all His statutes and His commands, which I am commanding thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all days of thy life, and so that thy days are prolonged.

щоб ти боявся Господа, Бога свого, щоб пильнувати всіх постанов Його та заповідей Його, що я наказую тобі, ти й син твій, та син твого сина по всі дні життя твого, і щоб були довгі твої дні.

3 ` And thou hast heard, O Israel, and observed to do, that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest multiply exceedingly, as Jehovah, God of thy fathers, hath spoken to thee, the land flowing with milk and honey.

І слухай, Ізраїлю, і пильнуй виконувати це, щоб було добре тобі, і щоб ви сильно розмножились, як прирік був Господь, Бог батьків твоїх, дати Край, що тече молоком та медом.

4 ` Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God one Jehovah;

Слухай, Ізраїлю: Господь, Бог наш Господь один!

5 a nd thou hast loved Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might,

І люби Господа, Бога твого, усім серцем своїм, і всією душею своєю, і всією силою своєю!

6 a nd these words which I am commanding thee to-day have been on thine heart,

І будуть ці слова, що Я сьогодні наказую, на серці твоїм.

7 a nd thou hast repeated them to thy sons, and spoken of them in thy sitting in thine house, and in thy walking in the way, and in thy lying down, and in thy rising up,

І пильно навчиш цього синів своїх, і будеш говорити про них, як сидітимеш удома, і як ходитимеш дорогою, і коли ти лежатимеш, і коли ти вставатимеш.

8 a nd hast bound them for a sign upon thy hand, and they have been for frontlets between thine eyes,

І прив'яжеш їх на ознаку на руку свою, і будуть вони пов'язкою між очима твоїми.

9 a nd thou hast written them on door-posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

І напишеш їх на бічних одвірках дому свого та на брамах своїх.

10 ` And it hath been, when Jehovah thy God doth bring thee in unto the land which He hath sworn to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to thee -- cities great and good, which thou hast not built,

І станеться, коли Господь, Бог твій, уведе тебе до того Краю, якого присягнув був батькам твоїм, Авраамові, Ісакові та Якову, щоб дати тобі великі та гарні міста, яких ти не будував,

11 a nd houses full of all good things which thou hast not filled, and wells digged which thou hast not digged, vineyards and olive-yards which thou hast not planted, and thou hast eaten, and been satisfied;

та доми, повні всякого добра, яких ти не наповнював, і тесані колодязі, яких ти не тесав, і виноградники та оливки, яких ти не садив, і ти будеш їсти й наситишся,

12 ` Take heed to thyself lest thou forget Jehovah who hath brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants;

стережися тоді, щоб ти не забув Господа, що вивів тебе з єгипетського краю, з дому рабства!

13 J ehovah thy God thou dost fear, and Him thou dost serve, and by His name thou dost swear;

Бійся Господа, Бога свого, і Йому будеш служити, і Йменням Його будеш присягати.

14 y e do not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who round about you;

Не будеш ходити за іншими богами з богів тих народів, що в околицях ваших,

15 f or a zealous God Jehovah thy God in thy midst -- lest the anger of Jehovah thy God burn against thee, and He hath destroyed thee from off the face of the ground.

бо Господь, Бог твій Бог заздрісний посеред тебе; щоб не запалився на тебе гнів Господа, Бога твого, і щоб Він не вигубив тебе з поверхні землі.

16 ` Ye do not try Jehovah your God as ye tried in Massah;

Не будете спокушати Господа, Бога вашого, як спокушали ви в Массі.

17 y e do diligently keep the commands of Jehovah your God, and His testimonies, and His statutes which He hath commanded thee,

Будете конче пильнувати заповідей Господа, Бога вашого, і свідоцтва Його, і постанови Його, що наказав Він тобі.

18 a nd thou hast done that which is right and good in the eyes of Jehovah, so that it is well with thee, and thou hast gone in and possessed the good land which Jehovah hath sworn to thy fathers,

І будеш робити справедливе та добре в Господніх очах, щоб було тобі добре, і щоб увійшов ти та посів той хороший Край, що Господь присягнув був батькам твоїм,

19 t o drive away all thine enemies from thy presence, as Jehovah hath spoken.

щоб вигнати всіх ворогів твоїх перед тобою, як говорив був Господь.

20 ` When thy son asketh thee hereafter, saying, What the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Jehovah our God hath commanded you?

Коли запитає тебе син твій колись, говорячи: Що це за свідоцтва й постанови та закони, що вам наказав Господь, Бог наш?

21 t hen thou hast said to thy son, Servants we have been to Pharaoh in Egypt, and Jehovah bringeth us out of Egypt by a high hand;

то скажеш синові своєму: Ми були раби фараонові в Єгипті, а Господь вивів нас із Єгипту сильною рукою.

22 a nd Jehovah giveth signs and wonders, great and sad, on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his house, before our eyes;

І дав Господь ознаки та чуда великі та страшні на Єгипет, і на фараона та ввесь дім його на наших очах.

23 a nd us He hath brought out thence, in order to bring us in, to give to us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.

А нас вивів звідти, щоб увести нас та дати той Край, що присягнув був Він нашим батькам.

24 A nd Jehovah commandeth us to do all these statutes, to fear Jehovah our God, for good to ourselves all the days, to keep us alive, as this day;

І наказав нам Господь чинити всі ті постанови, щоб боятися Господа, Бога нашого, щоб було добре нам усі дні, щоб утримати нас при житті, як дня цього.

25 a nd righteousness it is for us, when we observe to do all this command before Jehovah our God, as He hath commanded us.

І буде нам праведність у тому, коли будемо пильнувати виконувати всі ці заповіді перед лицем Господа, Бога нашого, як Він наказав нам.
