1 B y David. Do not fret because of evil doers, Be not envious against doers of iniquity,

Давидів. Не розпалюйся гнівом своїм на злочинців, не май заздрости до беззаконних,

2 F or as grass speedily they are cut off, And as the greenness of the tender grass do fade.

бо вони, як трава, будуть скоро покошені, і мов та зелена билина пов'януть!

3 T rust in Jehovah, and do good, Dwell the land, and enjoy faithfulness,

Надійся на Господа й добре чини, землю замешкуй та правди дотримуй!

4 A nd delight thyself on Jehovah, And He giveth to thee the petitions of thy heart.

Хай Господь буде розкіш твоя, і Він сповнить тобі твого серця бажання!

5 R oll on Jehovah thy way, And trust upon Him, and He worketh,

На Господа здай дорогу свою, і на Нього надію клади, і Він зробить,

6 A nd hath brought out as light thy righteousness, And thy judgment as noon-day.

і Він випровадить, немов світло, твою справедливість, а правду твою немов південь.

7 B e silent for Jehovah, and stay thyself for Him, Do not fret because of him Who is making prosperous his way, Because of a man doing wicked devices.

Жди Господа мовчки й на Нього надійся, не розпалюйся гнівом на того, хто щасливою чинить дорогу свою, на людину, що виконує задуми злі.

8 D esist from anger, and forsake fury, Fret not thyself only to do evil.

Повстримайсь від гніву й покинь пересердя, не розпалюйся лютістю, щоб чинити лиш зло,

9 F or evil doers are cut off, As to those waiting on Jehovah, they possess the land.

бо витяті будуть злочинці, а ті, хто вповає на Господа землю вспадкують!

10 A nd yet a little, and the wicked is not, And thou hast considered his place, and it is not.

А ще трохи й не буде безбожного, і будеш дивитись на місце його і не буде його,

11 A nd the humble do possess the land, And they have delighted themselves In the abundance of peace.

а покірні вспадкують землю, і зарозкошують миром великим!

12 T he wicked is devising against the righteous, And gnashing against him his teeth.

Лихе замишляє безбожний на праведного, і скрегоче на нього своїми зубами,

13 T he Lord doth laugh at him, For He hath seen that his day cometh.

та Господь посміється із нього, бачить бо Він, що наближується його день!

14 A sword have the wicked opened, And they have trodden their bow, To cause to fall the poor and needy, To slaughter the upright of the way.

Безбожні меча добувають та лука свого натягають, щоб звалити нужденного й бідного, щоб порізати людей простої дороги,

15 T heir sword doth enter into their own heart, And their bows are shivered.

та ввійде їхній меч до їхнього власного серця, і поламані будуть їхні луки!

16 B etter the little of the righteous, Than the store of many wicked.

Краще мале справедливого, ніж велике багатство безбожних, і то багатьох,

17 F or the arms of the wicked are shivered, And Jehovah is sustaining the righteous.

бо зламані будуть рамена безбожних, а справедливих Господь підпирає!

18 J ehovah knoweth the days of the perfect, And their inheritance is -- to the age.

Знає Господь дні невинних, а їхня спадщина пробуде навіки,

19 T hey are not ashamed in a time of evil, And in days of famine they are satisfied.

за лихоліття не будуть вони посоромлені, і за днів голоду ситими будуть.

20 B ut the wicked perish, and the enemies of Jehovah, As the preciousness of lambs, Have been consumed, In smoke they have been consumed.

Бо загинуть безбожні, і Господні вороги, як овечий той лій, заникнуть, у димі заникнуть вони!

21 T he wicked is borrowing and repayeth not, And the righteous is gracious and giving.

Позичає безбожний і не віддає, а праведний милість висвідчує та роздає,

22 F or His blessed ones do possess the land, And His reviled ones are cut off.

бо благословенні від Нього вспадкують землю, а прокляті від Нього понищені будуть!

23 F rom Jehovah the steps of a man, They have been prepared, And his way he desireth.

Від Господа кроки людини побожної ставляться міцно, і Він любить дорогу її;

24 W hen he falleth, he is not cast down, For Jehovah is sustaining his hand.

коли ж упаде, то не буде покинена, бо руку її підпирає Господь.

25 Y oung I have been, I have also become old, And I have not seen the righteous forsaken, And his seed seeking bread.

Я був молодий і постарівся, та не бачив я праведного, щоб опущений був, ні нащадків його, щоб хліба просили.

26 A ll the day he is gracious and lending, And his seed for a blessing.

Кожен день виявляє він милість та позичає, і над потомством його благословення.

27 T urn aside from evil, and do good, and dwell to the age.

Ухиляйся від злого та добре чини, та й навіки живи!

28 F or Jehovah is loving judgment, And He doth not forsake His saintly ones, To the age they have been kept, And the seed of the wicked is cut off.

Бо любить Господь справедливість, і Він богобійних Своїх не покине, вони будуть навіки бережені, а насіння безбожних загине!

29 T he righteous possess the land, And they dwell for ever on it.

Успадкують праведні землю, і повік будуть жити на ній.

30 T he mouth of the righteous uttereth wisdom, And his tongue speaketh judgment.

Уста праведного кажуть мудрість, язик же його промовляє про право,

31 T he law of his God his heart, His steps do not slide.

Закон Бога його в його серці, кроки його не спіткнуться.

32 T he wicked is watching for the righteous, And is seeking to put him to death.

А безбожний чатує на праведного, і пильнує забити його,

33 J ehovah doth not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him in his being judged.

та Господь не зоставить його в руках того, і несправедливим не вчинить його, коли буде судити його.

34 L ook unto Jehovah, and keep His way, And He doth exalt thee to possess the land, In the wicked being cut off -- thou seest!

Надійся на Господа, та держися дороги Його, і піднесе Він тебе, щоб успадкувати землю, ти бачитимеш, як понижені будуть безбожні.

35 I have seen the wicked terrible, And spreading as a green native plant,

Я бачив безбожного, що збуджував пострах, що розкоренився, немов саморосле зелене те дерево,

36 A nd he passeth away, and lo, he is not, And I seek him, and he is not found!

та він проминув, й ось немає його, і шукав я його, й не знайшов!

37 O bserve the perfect, and see the upright, For the latter end of each peace.

Бережи неповинного та дивися на праведного, бо людині спокою належить майбутність,

38 A nd transgressors were destroyed together, The latter end of the wicked was cut off.

переступники ж разом понищені будуть, майбутність безбожних загине!

39 A nd the salvation of the righteous from Jehovah, Their strong place in a time of adversity.

А спасіння праведних від Господа, Він їхня твердиня за час лихоліття,

40 A nd Jehovah doth help them and deliver them, He delivereth them from the wicked, And saveth them, Because they trusted in Him!

і Господь їм поможе та їх порятує, визволить їх від безбожних і їх збереже, бо вдавались до Нього вони!
