1 A nd I turn back, and lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, a flying roll.

І знову підніс я свої очі, та й побачив, аж ось летить звій.

2 A nd he saith unto me, `What art thou seeing?' And I say, `I am seeing a flying roll, its length twenty by the cubit, and its breadth ten by the cubit.'

І сказав він до мене: Що ти бачиш? А я відказав: Я бачу летючого звоя. Довжина його двадцять мірою ліктем, а ширина його десять ліктів.

3 A nd he saith unto me, `This the execration that is going forth over the face of all the land, for every one who is stealing, on the one side, according to it, hath been declared innocent, and every one who hath sworn, on the other side, according to it, hath been declared innocent.

І сказав він мені: Це те прокляття, що виходить на поверхню всієї землі. Бо кожен злодій буде безкарний згідно з тим, що з цього боку звою написане, і кожен, хто присягає ложно, буде безкарний згідно з тим, що з того боку звою написане.

4 ` I have brought it out -- an affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts -- and it hath come in unto the house of the thief, and unto the house of him who hath sworn in My name to a falsehood, and it hath remained in the midst of his house, and hath consumed it, both its wood and its stones.'

І привів Я його, прокляття, говорить Господь Саваот, і прийде воно до дому злодія, і до дому того, хто ложно присягає Йменням Моїм, і воно міцно осядеться в середині дому його, і вигубить його, і дерева його та каміння його.

5 A nd the messenger who is speaking with me goeth forth, and saith unto me, `Lift up, I pray thee, thine eyes, and see what this that is coming forth?'

І вийшов той Ангол, що говорив зо мною, та й до мене сказав: Зведи но свої очі й побач, що це виходить?

6 A nd I say, `What it?' And he saith, `This -- the ephah that is coming forth.' And he saith, `This their aspect in all the land.

І сказав я: Що це таке? А він відказав: Це ефа, що виходить. І ще він сказав: Це їхнє око в усьому Краї.

7 A nd lo, a cake of lead lifted up; and this a woman sitting in the midst of the ephah.'

Аж ось піднялася олив'яна покришка, а це була одна жінка, що сиділа посеред ефи.

8 A nd he saith, `This the wicked woman.' And he casteth her unto the midst of the ephah, and casteth the weight of lead on its mouth.

І він сказав: Це та несправедливість. І кинув її до середини ефи, і кинув олив'яного куска до її отвору.

9 A nd I lift up mine eyes, and see, and lo, two women are coming forth, and wind in their wings; and they have wings like wings of the stork, and they lift up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.

І звів я очі свої та й побачив, аж ось дві жінки виходять, і вітер гудів в їхніх крилах, а їхні крила як крила чорногуза. І підняли вони ефу між землею та між небом.

10 A nd I say unto the messenger who is speaking with me, `Whither they causing the ephah to go?'

І сказав я до Ангола, що зо мною говорив: Куди вони несуть цю ефу?

11 A nd he saith unto me, `To build to it a house in the land of Shinar.' And it hath been prepared and hath been placed there on its base.

І сказав він до мене: Щоб збудувати їй дім у краю Шін'ар. А коли він буде поставлений, то буде покладена там на місці своєму.
