1 A nd David gathered again every chosen one in Israel, thirty thousand,

А Давид знову зібрав вибране військо в Ізраїлі, тридцять тисяч.

2 a nd David riseth and goeth, and all the people who with him, from Baale-Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God, whose name hath been called -- the name of Jehovah of Hosts, inhabiting the cherubs -- upon it.

І встав та й пішов Давид та ввесь народ, що був з ним з Юдиного Баалу, щоб винести звідти Божого ковчега, що над ним кличеться Ім'я, Ім'я Господа Саваота, що замешкує на херувимах.

3 A nd they cause the ark of God to ride on a new cart, and lift it up from the house of Abinadab, which in the height, and Uzzah and Ahio sons of Abinadab are leading the new cart;

І вони поставили Божого ковчега на нового воза, і винесли його з Авінадавового дому, що в Ґів'ї. А Узза та Ахйо, сини Авінадавові, провадили того нового воза.

4 a nd they lift it up from the house of Abinadab, which in the height, with the ark of God, and Ahio is going before the ark,

І несли його з Авінадавового дому, що в Ґів'ї, і йшли з ковчегом Божим, а Ахйо йшов перед ковчегом.

5 a nd David and all the house of Israel are playing before Jehovah, with all kinds of of fir-wood, even with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cornets, and with cymbals.

А Давид та ввесь Ізраїлів дім грали перед Божим лицем усією силою та піснями, і на цитрах, і на арфах, і на бубнах, на гуслах, і на цимбалах.

6 A nd they come unto the threshing-floor of Nachon, and Uzzah putteth forth unto the ark of God, and layeth hold on it, for they released the oxen;

І прийшли вони аж до Ґорен-Нахону, а Узза простяг руку до Божого ковчегу, і схопив його, бо зноровилась була худоба.

7 a nd the anger of Jehovah burneth against Uzzah, and God smiteth him there for the error, and he dieth there by the ark of God.

І запалився Господній гнів на Уззу, і Бог уразив його там за цю провину. І він помер там при Божому ковчезі.

8 A nd it is displeasing to David, because that Jehovah hath broken forth a breach upon Uzzah, and calleth that place Perez-Uzzah, unto this day;

І запалився Давидів гнів за те, що Господь покарав Уззу, і він назвав ім'я тому місцю: Перец-Узза, і так воно зветься аж до цього дня.

9 a nd David feareth Jehovah on that day, and saith, `How doth the ark of Jehovah come in unto me?'

І Давид злякався Господа того дня та й сказав: Як увійде до мене Господній ковчег?

10 A nd David hath not been willing to turn aside unto himself the ark of Jehovah, to the city of David, and David turneth it aside to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite,

І не хотів Давид переносити Господнього ковчега до себе, до Давидового Міста, а скерував його Давид до дому ґатянина Овед-Едома.

11 a nd the ark of Jehovah doth inhabit the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months, and Jehovah blesseth Obed-Edom and all his house.

І пробував Господній ковчег у домі ґатянина Овед-Едома три місяці, і Господь поблагословив Овед-Едома та ввесь його дім.

12 A nd it is declared to king David, saying, `Jehovah hath blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that he hath, because of the ark of God;' and David goeth and bringeth up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the city of David with joy.

І донесено цареві Давидові, говорячи: Господь поблагословив дім Овед-Едома та все, що його, ради ковчегу Божого. І пішов Давид, і виніс Божого ковчега з дому Овед-Едома до Давидового Міста з радістю.

13 A nd it cometh to pass, when those bearing the ark of Jehovah have stepped six steps, that he sacrificeth an ox and a fatling.

І сталося, коли ті, хто ніс Господнього ковчега, ступали шість кроків, то він приносив у жертву вола та відгодовану штуку худоби.

14 A nd David is dancing with all strength before Jehovah, and David is girded with a linen ephod,

А Давид танцював перед Господнім лицем зо всієї сили. І Давид був оперезаний лляним ефодом.

15 a nd David and all the house of Israel are bringing up the ark of Jehovah with shouting, and with the voice of a trumpet,

І Давид та ввесь Ізраїлів дім несли Господнього ковчега з окриком та з сурмленням сурми.

16 a nd it hath come to pass, the ark of Jehovah hath come in to the city of David, and Michal daughter of Saul, hath looked through the window, and seeth king David moving and dancing before Jehovah, and despiseth him in her heart.

І сталося, коли Господній ковчег увійшов до Давидового Міста, то Мелхола, Саулова дочка, виглядала через вікно, і побачила царя Давида, що танцював та скакав перед Господнім лицем. І вона погордила ним у серці своєму.

17 A nd they bring in the ark of Jehovah, and set it up in its place, in the midst of the tent which David hath spread out for it, and David causeth to ascend burnt-offerings before Jehovah, and peace-offerings.

І принесли Господнього ковчега, і поставили його на місці його серед намету, що для нього поставив Давид. І приніс Давид цілопалення перед Господнім лицем та жертву мирну.

18 A nd David finisheth from causing to ascend the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings, and blesseth the people in the name of Jehovah of Hosts,

А коли Давид скінчив приносити цілопалення та мирні жертви, то він поблагословив народ Іменем Господа Саваота.

19 a nd he apportioneth to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, from man even unto woman, to each, one cake of bread, and one eshpar, and one ashisha, and all the people go, each to his house.

І він роздав для всього народу, для всього Ізраїлевого натовпу, від чоловіка й аж до жінки, для кожного по одному буханцеві хліба, по одному кавалкові печеного м'яса та по одному виноградному калачеві. І пішов увесь народ кожен до дому свого.

20 A nd David turneth back to bless his house, and Michal daughter of Saul goeth out to meet David, and saith, `How honourable to-day was the king of Israel, who was uncovered to-day before the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain ones is openly uncovered!'

І вернувся Давид, щоб поблагословити свій дім. І вийшла Мелхола, Саулова дочка, навпроти Давида й сказала: Який славний був сьогодні Ізраїлів цар, що обнажався сьогодні на очах невільниць своїх рабів, як обнажується який з пустунів!

21 A nd David saith unto Michal, `-- Before Jehovah, who fixed on me above thy father, and above all his house, to appoint me leader over the people of Jehovah, and over Israel, -- yea, I played before Jehovah;

І сказав Давид до Мелхоли: Перед лицем Господа, що вибрав мене над твого батька та над увесь дім його, і наказав мені бути володарем над Господнім народом, над Ізраїлем, буду веселитися перед Господнім лицем!

22 a nd I have been more vile than this, and have been low in mine eyes, and with the handmaids whom thou hast spoken of, with them I am honoured.'

І коли я буду погорджений ще більш від того, і буду низький у своїх очах, то при невільницях, що ти говорила, і при них я буду шанований!

23 A s to Michal daughter of Saul, she had no child till the day of her death.

І в Мелхоли, Саулової дочки, по цьому не було їй дитини аж до дня смерти її.
