1 A nd David gathered again every chosen one in Israel, thirty thousand,

Tornou Davi a ajuntar todos os escolhidos de Israel, em número de trinta mil.

2 a nd David riseth and goeth, and all the people who with him, from Baale-Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God, whose name hath been called -- the name of Jehovah of Hosts, inhabiting the cherubs -- upon it.

Depois levantou-se Davi, e partiu para Baal-Judá com todo o povo que tinha consigo, para trazerem dali para cima a arca de Deus, a qual é chamada pelo Nome, o nome do Senhor dos exércitos, que se assenta sobre os querubins.

3 A nd they cause the ark of God to ride on a new cart, and lift it up from the house of Abinadab, which in the height, and Uzzah and Ahio sons of Abinadab are leading the new cart;

Puseram a arca de Deus em um carro novo, e a levaram da casa de Abinadabe, que estava sobre o outeiro; e Uzá e Aiô, filhos de Abinadabe, guiavam o carro novo.

4 a nd they lift it up from the house of Abinadab, which in the height, with the ark of God, and Ahio is going before the ark,

Foram, pois, levando-o da casa de Abinadabe, que estava sobre o outeiro, com a arca de Deus; e Aiô ia adiante da arca.

5 a nd David and all the house of Israel are playing before Jehovah, with all kinds of of fir-wood, even with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cornets, and with cymbals.

E Davi, e toda a casa de Israel, tocavam perante o Senhor, com toda sorte de instrumentos de pau de faia, como também com harpas, saltérios, tamboris, pandeiros e címbalos.

6 A nd they come unto the threshing-floor of Nachon, and Uzzah putteth forth unto the ark of God, and layeth hold on it, for they released the oxen;

Quando chegaram ã eira de Nacom, Uzá estendeu a mão ã arca de Deus, e pegou nela, porque os bois tropeçaram.

7 a nd the anger of Jehovah burneth against Uzzah, and God smiteth him there for the error, and he dieth there by the ark of God.

Então a ira do Senhor se acendeu contra Uzá, e Deus o feriu ali; e Uzá morreu ali junto ã arca de Deus.

8 A nd it is displeasing to David, because that Jehovah hath broken forth a breach upon Uzzah, and calleth that place Perez-Uzzah, unto this day;

E Davi se contristou, porque o Senhor abrira rotura em Uzá; e passou-se a chamar

9 a nd David feareth Jehovah on that day, and saith, `How doth the ark of Jehovah come in unto me?'

Davi, pois, teve medo do Senhor naquele dia, e disse: Como virá a mim a arca do Senhor?

10 A nd David hath not been willing to turn aside unto himself the ark of Jehovah, to the city of David, and David turneth it aside to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite,

E não quis levar a arca do Senhor para a cidade de Davi; mas fê-la entrar na casa de Obede-Edom, o gitita.

11 a nd the ark of Jehovah doth inhabit the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months, and Jehovah blesseth Obed-Edom and all his house.

E ficou a arca do Senhor três meses na casa de Obede-Edom, o gitita, e o Senhor o abençoou e a toda a sua casa.

12 A nd it is declared to king David, saying, `Jehovah hath blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that he hath, because of the ark of God;' and David goeth and bringeth up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the city of David with joy.

Então informaram a Davi, dizendo: O Senhor abençoou a casa de Obede-Edom, e tudo quanto é dele, por causa da arca de Deus. Foi, pois, Davi, e com alegria fez subir a arca de Deus, da casa de Obede-Edom para a cidade de Davi.

13 A nd it cometh to pass, when those bearing the ark of Jehovah have stepped six steps, that he sacrificeth an ox and a fatling.

Quando os que levavam a arca do Senhor tinham dado seis passos, ele sacrificou um boi e um animal cevado.

14 A nd David is dancing with all strength before Jehovah, and David is girded with a linen ephod,

E Davi dançava com todas as suas forças diante do Senhor; e estava Davi cingido dum éfode de linho.

15 a nd David and all the house of Israel are bringing up the ark of Jehovah with shouting, and with the voice of a trumpet,

Assim Davi e toda a casa de Israel subiam, trazendo a arca do Senhor com júbilo e ao som de trombetas.

16 a nd it hath come to pass, the ark of Jehovah hath come in to the city of David, and Michal daughter of Saul, hath looked through the window, and seeth king David moving and dancing before Jehovah, and despiseth him in her heart.

Quando entrava a arca do Senhor na cidade de Davi, Mical, filha de Saul, estava olhando pela janela; e, vendo ao rei Davi saltando e dançando diante do senhor, o desprezou no seu coraçao.

17 A nd they bring in the ark of Jehovah, and set it up in its place, in the midst of the tent which David hath spread out for it, and David causeth to ascend burnt-offerings before Jehovah, and peace-offerings.

Introduziram, pois, a arca do Senhor, e a puseram no seu lugar, no meio da tenda que Davi lhe armara; e Davi ofereceu holocaustos e ofertas pacíficas perante o Senhor.

18 A nd David finisheth from causing to ascend the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings, and blesseth the people in the name of Jehovah of Hosts,

Quando Davi acabou de oferecer os holocaustos e ofertas pacíficas, abençoou o povo em nome do Senhor dos exércitos.

19 a nd he apportioneth to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, from man even unto woman, to each, one cake of bread, and one eshpar, and one ashisha, and all the people go, each to his house.

Depois repartiu a todo o povo, a toda a multidão de Israel, tanto a homens como a mulheres, a cada um, um bolo de pão, um bom pedaço de carne e um bolo de passas. Em seguida todo o povo se retirou, cada um para sua casa.

20 A nd David turneth back to bless his house, and Michal daughter of Saul goeth out to meet David, and saith, `How honourable to-day was the king of Israel, who was uncovered to-day before the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain ones is openly uncovered!'

Então Davi voltou para abençoar a sua casa; e Mical, filha de Saul, saiu a encontrar-se com Davi, e disse: Quão honrado foi o rei de Israel, descobrindo-se hoje aos olhos das servas de seus servos, como sem pejo se descobre um indivíduo qualquer.

21 A nd David saith unto Michal, `-- Before Jehovah, who fixed on me above thy father, and above all his house, to appoint me leader over the people of Jehovah, and over Israel, -- yea, I played before Jehovah;

Disse, porém, Davi a Mical: Perante o Senhor, que teu escolheu a mim de preferência a teu pai e a toda a sua casa, estabelecendo-me por chefe sobre o povo do Senhor, sobre Israel, sim, foi perante Senhor que dancei; e perante ele ainda hei de dançar

22 a nd I have been more vile than this, and have been low in mine eyes, and with the handmaids whom thou hast spoken of, with them I am honoured.'

Também ainda mais do que isso me envilecerei, e me humilharei aos meus olhos; mas das servas, de quem falaste, delas serei honrado.

23 A s to Michal daughter of Saul, she had no child till the day of her death.

E Mical, filha de Saul não teve filhos, até o dia de sua morte.
