1 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Speak unto the priests, sons of Aaron, and thou hast said unto them, For person is not defiled among his people,

Depois disse o senhor a Moisés: Fala aos sacerdotes, filhos de Arão, e dize-lhes: O sacerdote não se contaminará por causa dum morto entre o seu povo,

2 e xcept for his relation who near unto him -- for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother.

salvo por um seu parente mais chegado: por sua mãe ou por seu pai, por seu filho ou por sua filha, por seu irmão,

3 a nd for his sister, the virgin, who is near unto him, who hath not been to a man; for her he is defiled.

ou por sua irmã virgem, que lhe é chegada, que ainda não tem marido; por ela também pode contaminar-se.

4 ` A master doth not defile himself among his people -- to pollute himself;

O sacerdote, sendo homem principal entre o seu povo, não se profanará, assim contaminando-se.

5 t hey do not make baldness on their head, and the corner of their beard they do not shave, and in their flesh they do not make a cutting;

Não farão os sacerdotes calva na cabeça, e não raparão os cantos da barba, nem farão lacerações na sua carne.

6 t hey are holy to their God, and they pollute not the name of their God, for the fire-offerings of Jehovah, bread of their God, they are bringing near, and have been holy.

santos serão para seu Deus, e não profanarão o nome do seu Deus; porque oferecem as ofertas queimadas do senhor, que são o pão do seu Deus; portanto serão santos.

7 ` A woman, a harlot, or polluted, they do not take, and a woman cast out from her husband they do not take, for he holy to his God;

Não tomarão mulher prostituta ou desonrada, nem tomarão mulher repudiada de seu marido; pois o sacerdote é santo para seu Deus.

8 a nd thou hast sanctified him, for the bread of thy God he is bringing near; he is holy to thee; for holy I, Jehovah, sanctifying you.

Portanto o santificarás; porquanto oferece o pão do teu Deus, santo te será; pois eu, o Senhor, que vos santifico, sou santo.

9 ` And a daughter of any priest when she polluteth herself by going a-whoring -- her father she is polluting; with fire she is burnt.

E se a filha dum sacerdote se profanar, tornando-se prostituta, profana a seu pai; no fogo será queimada.

10 ` And the high priest of his brethren, on whose head is poured the anointing oil, and hath consecrated his hand to put on the garments, his head doth not uncover, nor rend his garments,

Aquele que é sumo sacerdote entre seus irmãos, sobre cuja cabeça foi derramado o óleo da unção, e que foi consagrado para vestir as vestes sagradas, não descobrirá a cabeça nem rasgará a sua vestidura;

11 n or beside any dead person doth he come; for his father and for his mother he doth not defile himself;

e não se chegará a cadáver algum; nem sequer por causa de seu pai ou de sua, mãe se contaminará;

12 n or from the sanctuary doth he go out, nor doth he pollute the sanctuary of his God, for the separation of the anointing oil of his God on him; I Jehovah.

não sairá do santuário, nem profanará o santuário do seu Deus; pois a coroa do óleo da unção do seu Deus está sobre ele. Eu sou o Senhor.

13 ` And he taketh a wife in her virginity;

E ele tomará por esposa uma mulher na sua virgindade.

14 w idow, or cast out, or polluted one -- a harlot -- these he doth not take, but a virgin of his own people he doth take a wife,

Viúva, ou repudiada, ou desonrada, ou prostituta, destas não tomará; mas virgem do seu povo tomará por mulher.

15 a nd he doth not pollute his seed among his people; for I Jehovah, sanctifying him.'

E não profanará a sua descendência entre o seu povo; porque eu sou o Senhor que o santifico.

16 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Disse mais o Senhor a Moisés:

17 ` Speak unto Aaron, saying, No man of thy seed to their generations in whom there is blemish doth draw near to bring near the bread of his God,

Fala a Arão, dizendo: Ninguém dentre os teus descendentes, por todas as suas gerações, que tiver defeito, se chegará para oferecer o pão do seu Deus.

18 f or no man in whom blemish doth draw near -- a man blind, or lame or dwarfed, or enlarged,

Pois nenhum homem que tiver algum defeito se chegará: como homem cego, ou coxo, ou de nariz chato, ou de membros demasiadamente compridos,

19 o r a man in whom there is a breach in the foot, or a breach in the hand,

ou homem que tiver o pé quebrado, ou a mão quebrada,

20 o r hump-backed, or a dwarf, or with a mixture in his eye, or a scurvy person, or scabbed, or broken-testicled.

ou for corcunda, ou anão, ou que tiver belida, ou sarna, ou impigens, ou que tiver testículo lesado;

21 ` No man in whom is blemish (of the seed of Aaron the priest) doth come nigh to bring near the fire-offerings of Jehovah; blemish in him; the bread of his God he doth not come nigh to bring near.

nenhum homem dentre os descendentes de Arão, o sacerdote, que tiver algum defeito, se chegará para oferecer as ofertas queimadas do Senhor; ele tem defeito; não se chegará para oferecer o pão do seu Deus.

22 ` Bread of his God -- of the most holy things, and of the holy things -- he doth eat;

Comerá do pão do seu Deus, tanto do santíssimo como do santo;

23 o nly, unto the vail he doth not enter, and unto the altar he doth not draw nigh; for blemish in him; and he doth not pollute My sanctuaries; for I Jehovah, sanctifying them.'

contudo, não entrará até o véu, nem se chegará ao altar, porquanto tem defeito; para que não profane os meus santuários; porque eu sou o Senhor que os santifico.

24 A nd Moses speaketh unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the sons of Israel.

Moisés, pois, assim falou a Arão e a seus filhos, e a todos os filhos de Israel.
