1 A nd it cometh to pass, when the king sat in his house, and Jehovah hath given rest to him round about, from all his enemies,

Ora, estando o rei Davi em sua casa e tendo-lhe dado o Senhor descanso de todos os seus inimigos em redor,

2 t hat the king saith unto Nathan the prophet, `See, I pray thee, I am dwelling in a house of cedars, and the ark of God is dwelling in the midst of the curtain.'

disse ele ao profeta Natã: Eis que eu moro numa casa de cedro, enquanto que a arca de Deus dentro de uma tenda.

3 A nd Nathan saith unto the king, `All that in thine heart -- go, do, for Jehovah with thee.'

Respondeu Natã ao rei: Vai e faze tudo quanto está no teu coração, porque o Senhor é contigo.

4 A nd it cometh to pass in that night, that the word of Jehovah is unto Nathan, saying,

Mas naquela mesma noite a palavra do Senhor veio a Natã, dizendo:

5 ` Go, and thou hast said unto My servant, unto David, Thus said Jehovah, Dost thou build for Me a house for My dwelling in?

Vai, e dize a meu servo Davi: Assim diz o Senhor: Edificar-me-ás tu uma casa para eu nela habitar?

6 f or I have not dwelt in a house even from the day of My bringing up the sons of Israel out of Egypt, even unto this day, and am walking up and down in a tent and in a tabernacle.

Porque em casa nenhuma habitei, desde o dia em que fiz subir do Egito os filhos de Israel até o dia de hoje, mas tenho andado em tenda e em tabernáculo.

7 D uring all that I have walked up and down among all the sons of Israel, a word have I spoken with one of the tribes of Israel which I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, `Why have ye not built to Me a house of cedars?

E em todo lugar em que tenho andado com todos os filhos de Israel, falei porventura, alguma palavra a qualquer das suas tribos a que mandei apascentar o meu povo de Israel, dizendo: por que não me edificais uma casa de cedro?

8 a nd now, thus dost thou say to My servant, to David: `Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, I have taken thee from the comely place, from after the flock, to be leader over My people, over Israel;

Agora, pois, assim dirás ao meu servo Davi: Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Eu te tomei da malhada, de detrás das ovelhas, para que fosses príncipe sobre o meu povo, sobre Israel;

9 a nd I am with thee whithersoever thou hast gone, and I cut off all thine enemies from thy presence, and have made for thee a great name, as the name of the great ones who in the earth,

e fui contigo, por onde quer que foste, e destruí a todos os teus inimigos diante de ti; e te farei um grande nome, como o nome dos grandes que há na terra.

10 a nd I have appointed a place for My people, for Israel, and have planted it, and it hath tabernacled in its place, and it is not troubled any more, and the sons of perverseness do not add to afflict it any more, as in the beginning,

Também designarei lugar para o meu povo, para Israel, e o plantarei ali, para que ele habite no seu lugar, e não mais seja perturbado, e nunca mais os filhos da iniqüidade o aflijam, como dantes,

11 e ven from the day that I appointed judges over My people Israel; and I have given rest to thee from all thine enemies, and Jehovah hath declared to thee that Jehovah doth make for thee a house.

e como desde o dia em que ordenei que houvesse juízes sobre o meu povo Israel. A ti, porém, darei descanso de todos os teus inimigos. Também o Senhor te declara que ele te fará casa.

12 ` When thy days are full, and thou hast lain with thy fathers, then I have raised up thy seed after thee which goeth out from thy bowels, and have established his kingdom;

Quando teus dias forem completos, e vieres a dormir com teus pais, então farei levantar depois de ti um dentre a tua descendência, que sair das tuas entranhas, e estabelecerei o seu reino.

13 H e doth build a house for My Name, and I have established the throne of his kingdom unto the age.

Este edificará uma casa ao meu nome, e eu estabelecerei para sempre o trono do seu reino.

14 I am to him for a father, and he is to Me for a son; whom in his dealings perversely I have even reproved with a rod of men, and with strokes of the sons of Adam,

Eu lhe serei pai, e ele me será filho. E, se vier a transgredir, castigá-lo-ei com vara de homens, e com açoites de filhos de homens;

15 a nd My kindness doth not turn aside from him, as I turned it aside from Saul, whom I turned aside from before thee,

mas não retirarei dele a minha benignidade como a retirei de Saul, a quem tirei de diante de ti.

16 a nd stedfast thy house and thy kingdom unto the age before thee, thy throne is established unto the age.'

A tua casa, porém, e o teu reino serão firmados para sempre diante de ti; teu trono será estabelecido para sempre.

17 A ccording to all these words, and according to all this vision, so spake Nathan unto David.

Conforme todas estas palavras, e conforme toda esta visão, assim falou Natã a Davi.

18 A nd king David cometh in and sitteth before Jehovah, and saith, `Who I, Lord Jehovah? and what my house, that Thou hast brought me hitherto?

Então entrou o rei Davi, e sentou-se perante o Senhor, e disse: Quem sou eu, Senhor Jeová, e que é a minha casa, para me teres trazido até aqui?

19 A nd yet this little in Thine eyes, Lord Jehovah, and Thou dost speak also concerning the house of Thy servant afar off; and this the law of the Man, Lord Jehovah.

E isso ainda foi pouco aos teus olhos, Senhor Jeová, senão que também falaste da casa do teu servo para tempos distantes; e me tens mostrado gerações futuras, ó Senhor Jeová?

20 A nd what doth David add more to speak unto Thee? and Thou, Thou hast known Thy servant, Lord Jehovah.

Que mais te poderá dizer Davi. pois tu conheces bem o teu servo, ó Senhor Jeová.

21 B ecause of Thy word, and according to Thy heart, Thou hast done all this greatness, to cause Thy servant to know.

Por causa da tua palavra, e segundo o teu coração, fizeste toda esta grandeza, revelando-a ao teu servo.

22 T herefore Thou hast been great, Jehovah God, for there is none like Thee, and there is no God save Thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

Portanto és grandioso, ó Senhor Jeová, porque ninguém há semelhante a ti, e não há Deus senão tu só, segundo tudo o que temos ouvido com os nossos ouvidos.

23 ` And who as Thy people, as Israel -- one nation in the earth, whom God hath gone to redeem to Him for a people, and to make for Him a name -- and to do for you the greatness -- even fearful things for Thy land, at the presence of Thy people, whom Thou hast redeemed to Thee out of Egypt -- nations and their gods?

Que outra nação na terra é semelhante a teu povo Israel, a quem tu, ó Deus, foste resgatar para te ser povo, para te fazeres um nome, e para fazeres a seu favor estas grandes e terríveis coisas para a tua terra, diante do teu povo, que tu resgataste para ti do Egito, desterrando nações e seus deuses?

24 Y ea, Thou dost establish to Thee Thy people Israel, to Thee for a people unto the age, and Thou, Jehovah, hast been to them for God.

Assim estabeleceste o teu povo Israel por teu povo para sempre, e tu, Senhor, te fizeste o seu Deus.

25 ` And now, Jehovah God, the word which Thou hast spoken concerning Thy servant, and concerning his house, establish unto the age, and do as Thou hast spoken;

Agora, pois, o Senhor Jeová, confirma para sempre a palavra que falaste acerca do teu servo e acerca da sua casa, e faze como tens falado,

26 A nd Thy Name is great unto the age, saying, Jehovah of Hosts God over Israel, and the house of Thy servant David is established before Thee,

para que seja engrandecido o teu nome para sempre, e se diga: O Senhor dos exércitos é Deus sobre Israel; e a casa do teu servo será estabelecida diante de ti.

27 F or Thou, Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Thou hast uncovered the ear of Thy servant, saying, A house I build for thee, therefore hath Thy servant found his heart to pray unto Thee this prayer;

Pois tu, Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel, fizeste uma revelação ao teu servo, dizendo: Edificar-te-ei uma casa. Por isso o teu servo se animou a fazer-te esta oração.

28 A nd now, Lord Jehovah, Thou God Himself, and Thy words are truth, and Thou speakest unto Thy servant this goodness,

Agora, pois, Senhor Jeová, tu és Deus, e as tuas palavras são verdade, e tens prometido a teu servo este bem.

29 A nd now, begin and bless the house of Thy servant, to be unto the age before Thee, for Thou, Lord Jehovah, hast spoken, and by Thy blessing is the house of Thy servant blessed -- to the age.'

Sê, pois, agora servido de abençoar a casa do teu servo, para que subsista para sempre diante de ti; pois tu, ó Senhor Jeová, o disseste; e com a tua bênção a casa do teu servo será, abençoada para sempre.
