1 A nd the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, take each his censer, and put in them fire, and put on it perfume, and bring near before Jehovah strange fire, which He hath not commanded them;

Ora, Nadabe, e Abiú, filhos de Arão, tomaram cada um o seu incensário e, pondo neles fogo e sobre ele deitando incenso, ofereceram fogo estranho perante o Senhor, o que ele não lhes ordenara.

2 a nd fire goeth out from before Jehovah, and consumeth them, and they die before Jehovah.

Então saiu fogo de diante do Senhor, e os devorou; e morreram perante o Senhor.

3 A nd Moses saith unto Aaron, `It that which Jehovah hath spoken, saying, By those drawing near to Me I am sanctified, and in the face of all the people I am honoured;' and Aaron is silent.

Disse Moisés a Arão: Isto é o que o Senhor falou, dizendo: Serei santificado naqueles que se chegarem a mim, e serei glorificado diante de todo o povo. Mas Arão guardou silêncio.

4 A nd Moses calleth unto Mishael and unto Elzaphan, sons of Uzziel, uncle of Aaron, and saith unto them, `Come near, bear your brethren from the front of the sanctuary unto the outside of the camp;'

E Moisés chamou a Misael e a Elzafã, filhos de Uziel, tio de Arão, e disse-lhes: Chegai-vos, levai vossos irmãos de diante do santuário, para fora do arraial.

5 a nd they come near, and bear them in their coats unto the outside of the camp, as Moses hath spoken.

Chegaram-se, pois, e levaram-nos como estavam, nas próprias túnicas, para fora do arraial, como Moisés lhes dissera.

6 A nd Moses saith unto Aaron, and to Eleazar, and to Ithamar his sons, `Your heads ye do not uncover, and your garments ye do not rend, that ye die not, and on all the company He be wroth; as to your brethren, the whole house of Israel, they bewail the burning which Jehovah hath kindled;

Então disse Moisés a Arão, e a seus filhos Eleazar e Itamar: Não descubrais as vossas cabeças, nem rasgueis as vossas vestes, para que não morrais, nem venha a ira sobre toda a congregação; mas vossos irmãos, toda a casa de Israel, lamentem este incêndio que o Senhor acendeu.

7 a nd from the opening of the tent of meeting ye do not go out, lest ye die, for the anointing oil of Jehovah upon you;' and they do according to the word of Moses.

E não saireis da porta da tenda da revelação, para que não morrais; porque está sobre vós o óleo da unção do Senhor. E eles fizeram conforme a palavra de Moisés.

8 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Aaron, saying,

Falou também o Senhor a Arão, dizendo:

9 ` Wine and strong drink thou dost not drink, thou, and thy sons with thee, in your going in unto the tent of meeting, and ye die not -- a statute age-during to your generations;

Não bebereis vinho nem bebida forte, nem tu nem teus filhos contigo, quando entrardes na tenda da revelação, para que não morrais; estatuto perpétuo será isso pelas vossas gerações,

10 s o as to make a separation between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the pure;

não somente para fazer separação entre o santo e o profano, e entre o imundo e o limpo,

11 a nd to teach the sons of Israel all the statutes which Jehovah hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.'

mas também para ensinar aos filhos de Israel todos os estatutos que o Senhor lhes tem dado por intermédio de Moisés.

12 A nd Moses speaketh unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar, and unto Ithamar his sons, who are left, `Take ye the present that is left from the fire-offerings of Jehovah, and eat it unleavened near the altar, for it most holy,

Também disse Moisés a Arão, e a Eleazar e Itamar, seus filhos que lhe ficaram: Tomai a oferta de cereais que resta das ofertas queimadas do Senhor, e comei-a sem levedura junto do altar, porquanto é coisa santíssima.

13 a nd ye have eaten it in the holy place, for it thy portion, and the portion of thy sons, from the fire-offerings of Jehovah; for so I have been commanded.

Comê-la-eis em lugar santo, porque isto é a tua porção, e a porção de teus filhos, das ofertas queimadas do Senhor; porque assim me foi ordenado.

14 ` And the breast of the wave-offering, and the leg of the heave-offering, ye do eat in a clean place, thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee; for thy portion and the portion of thy sons they have been given, out of the sacrifices of peace-offerings of the sons of Israel;

Também o peito da oferta movida e a coxa da oferta alçada, comê-los-eis em lugar limpo, tu, e teus filhos e tuas filhas contigo; porquanto são eles dados como tua porção, e como porção de teus filhos, dos sacrifícios das ofertas pacíficas dos filhos de Israel.

15 t he leg of the heave-offering, and breast of the wave-offering, besides fire-offerings of the fat, they do bring in to wave a wave-offering before Jehovah, and it hath been to thee, and to thy sons with thee, by a statute age-during, as Jehovah hath commanded.'

Trarão a coxa da oferta alçada e o peito da oferta movida juntamente com as ofertas queimadas da gordura, para movê-los como oferta movida perante o Senhor; isso te pertencerá como porção, a ti e a teus filhos contigo, para sempre, como o Senhor tem ordenado.

16 A nd the goat of the sin-offering hath Moses diligently sought, and lo, it is burnt, and he is wroth against Eleazar, and against Ithamar, sons of Aaron, who are left, saying,

E Moisés buscou diligentemente o bode da oferta pelo pecado, e eis que já tinha sido queimado; pelo que se indignou grandemente contra Eleazar e contra Itamar, os filhos que de Arão ficaram, e lhes disse:

17 ` Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin-offering in the holy place, for it most holy -- and it He hath given to you to take away the iniquity of the company, to make atonement for them before Jehovah?

Por que não comestes a oferta pelo pecado em lugar santo, visto que é coisa santíssima, e o Senhor a deu a vós para levardes a iniqüidade da congregação, para fazerdes expiação por eles diante do Senhor?

18 l o, its blood hath not been brought in unto the holy place within; eating ye do eat it in the holy place, as I have commanded.'

Eis que não se trouxe o seu sangue para dentro do santuário; certamente a devíeis ter comido em lugar santo, como eu havia ordenado.

19 A nd Aaron speaketh unto Moses, `Lo, to-day they have brought near their sin-offering and their burnt-offering before Jehovah; and like these meet me, yet I have eaten a sin-offering to-day; is it good in the eyes of Jehovah?'

Então disse Arão a Moisés: Eis que hoje ofereceram a sua oferta pelo pecado e o seu holocausto perante o Senhor, e tais coisas como essas me têm acontecido; se eu tivesse comido hoje a oferta pelo pecado, porventura teria sido isso coisa agradavel aos olhos do Senhor?

20 A nd Moses hearkeneth, and it is good in his eyes.

Ouvindo Moisés isto, pareceu-lhe razoável.
