1 A nd it cometh to pass, after these things -- the butler of the king of Egypt and the baker have sinned against their lord, against the king of Egypt;

Depois destas coisas o copeiro do rei do Egito e o seu padeiro ofenderam o seu senhor, o rei do Egito.

2 a nd Pharaoh is wroth against his two eunuchs, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers,

Pelo que se indignou Faraó contra os seus dois oficiais, contra o copeiro-mor e contra o padeiro-mor;

3 a nd giveth them in charge in the house of the chief of the executioners, unto the round-house, the place where Joseph a prisoner,

e mandou detê-los na casa do capitão da guarda, no cárcere onde José estava preso;

4 a nd the chief of the executioners chargeth Joseph with them, and he serveth them; and they are days in charge.

e o capitão da guarda pô-los a cargo de José, que os servia. Assim estiveram por algum tempo em detenção.

5 A nd they dream a dream both of them, each his dream in one night, each according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker whom the king of Egypt hath, who prisoners in the round-house.

Ora, tiveram ambos um sonho, cada um seu sonho na mesma noite, cada um conforme a interpretação do seu sonho, o copeiro e o padeiro do rei do Egito, que se achavam presos no cárcere:

6 A nd Joseph cometh in unto them in the morning, and seeth them, and lo, they morose;

Quando José veio a eles pela manhã, viu que estavam perturbados:

7 a nd he asketh Pharaoh's eunuchs who with him in charge in the house of his lord, saying, `Wherefore your faces sad to-day?'

Perguntou, pois, a esses oficiais de Faraó, que com ele estavam no cárcere da casa de seu senhor, dizendo: Por que estão os vossos semblantes tão tristes hoje?

8 A nd they say unto him, `A dream we have dreamed, and there is no interpreter of it;' and Joseph saith unto them, `Are not interpretations with God? recount, I pray you, to me.'

Responderam-lhe: Tivemos um sonho e ninguém há que o interprete. Pelo que lhes disse José: Porventura não pertencem a Deus as interpretações? Contai-mo, peço-vos.

9 A nd the chief of the butlers recounteth his dream to Joseph, and saith to him, `In my dream, then lo, a vine before me!

Então contou o copeiro-mor o seu sonho a José, dizendo-lhe: Eis que em meu sonho havia uma vide diante de mim,

10 a nd in the vine three branches, and it as it were flourishing; gone up hath its blossom, its clusters have ripened grapes;

e na vide três sarmentos; e, tendo a vide brotado, saíam as suas flores, e os seus cachos produziam uvas maduras.

11 a nd Pharaoh's cup in my hand, and I take the grapes and press them into the cup of Pharaoh, and I give the cup into the hand of Pharaoh.'

O copo de Faraó estava na minha mão; e, tomando as uvas, eu as espremia no copo de Faraó e entregava o copo na mão de Faraó.

12 A nd Joseph saith to him, `This its interpretation: the three branches are three days;

Então disse-lhe José: Esta é a sua interpretação: Os três sarmentos são três dias;

13 y et, within three days doth Pharaoh lift up thy head, and hath put thee back on thy station, and thou hast given the cup of Pharaoh into his hand, according to the former custom when thou wast his butler.

dentro de três dias Faraó levantará a tua cabeça, e te restaurará ao teu cargo; e darás o copo de Faraó na sua mão, conforme o costume antigo, quando eras seu copeiro.

14 ` Surely if thou hast remembered me with thee, when it is well with thee, and hast done (I pray thee) kindness with me, and hast made mention of me unto Pharaoh, then hast thou brought me out from this house,

Mas lembra-te de mim, quando te for bem; usa, peço-te, de compaixão para comigo e faze menção de mim a Faraó e tira-me desta casa;

15 f or I was really stolen from the land of the Hebrews; and here also have I done nothing that they have put me in the pit.'

porque, na verdade, fui roubado da terra dos hebreus; e aqui também nada tenho feito para que me pusessem na masmorra.

16 A nd the chief of the bakers seeth that he hath interpreted good, and he saith unto Joseph, `I also in a dream, and lo, three baskets of white bread on my head,

Quando o padeiro-mor viu que a interpretação era boa, disse a José: Eu também sonhei, e eis que três cestos de pão branco estavam sobre a minha cabeça.

17 a nd in the uppermost basket of all of Pharaoh's food, work of a baker; and the birds are eating them out of the basket, from off my head.'

E no cesto mais alto havia para Faraó manjares de todas as qualidades que fazem os padeiros; e as aves os comiam do cesto que estava sobre a minha cabeça.

18 A nd Joseph answereth and saith, `This its interpretation: the three baskets are three days;

Então respondeu José: Esta é a interpretação do sonho: Os três cestos são três dias;

19 y et, within three days doth Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and hath hanged thee on a tree, and the birds have eaten thy flesh from off thee.'

dentro de três dias tirará Faraó a tua cabeça, e te pendurará num madeiro, e as aves comerão a tua carne de sobre ti.

20 A nd it cometh to pass, on the third day, Pharaoh's birthday, that he maketh a banquet to all his servants, and lifteth up the head of the chief of the butlers, and the head of the chief of the bakers among his servants,

E aconteceu ao terceiro dia, o dia natalício de Faraó, que este deu um banquete a todos os seus servos; e levantou a cabeça do copeiro-mor, e a cabeça do padeiro-mor no meio dos seus servos;

21 a nd he putteth back the chief of the butlers to his butlership, and he giveth the cup into the hand of Pharaoh;

e restaurou o copeiro-mor ao seu cargo de copeiro, e este deu o copo na mão de Faraó;

22 a nd the chief of the bakers he hath hanged, as Joseph hath interpreted to them;

mas ao padeiro-mor enforcou, como José lhes havia interpretado.

23 a nd the chief of the butlers hath not remembered Joseph, but forgetteth him.

O copeiro-mor, porém, não se lembrou de José, antes se esqueceu dele.
