1 A nd it cometh to pass, after these things -- the butler of the king of Egypt and the baker have sinned against their lord, against the king of Egypt;

2 a nd Pharaoh is wroth against his two eunuchs, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers,

Фараон разгневался на двух своих приближенных, главного виночерпия и главного пекаря,

3 a nd giveth them in charge in the house of the chief of the executioners, unto the round-house, the place where Joseph a prisoner,

и заключил их в темницу при доме начальника стражи, туда же, куда был заключен Иосиф.

4 a nd the chief of the executioners chargeth Joseph with them, and he serveth them; and they are days in charge.

Начальник стражи поручил их Иосифу, и тот прислуживал им. Они пробыли в заточении некоторое время,

5 A nd they dream a dream both of them, each his dream in one night, each according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker whom the king of Egypt hath, who prisoners in the round-house.

и вот им обоим – виночерпию и пекарю египетского царя, которые сидели в темнице – в одну и ту же ночь приснились сны, и каждый сон имел свое особое значение.

6 A nd Joseph cometh in unto them in the morning, and seeth them, and lo, they morose;

Придя к ним на следующее утро, Иосиф увидел, что они чем-то опечалены.

7 a nd he asketh Pharaoh's eunuchs who with him in charge in the house of his lord, saying, `Wherefore your faces sad to-day?'

Он спросил приближенных фараона, заключенных вместе с ним в доме его господина: – Почему у вас сегодня такой печальный вид?

8 A nd they say unto him, `A dream we have dreamed, and there is no interpreter of it;' and Joseph saith unto them, `Are not interpretations with God? recount, I pray you, to me.'

– Нам обоим приснились сны, – ответили они, – а истолковать их некому. Иосиф сказал им: – Разве толкование не от Бога? Расскажите мне ваши сны.

9 A nd the chief of the butlers recounteth his dream to Joseph, and saith to him, `In my dream, then lo, a vine before me!

Главный виночерпий рассказал Иосифу свой сон: – Я видел во сне виноградную лозу,

10 a nd in the vine three branches, and it as it were flourishing; gone up hath its blossom, its clusters have ripened grapes;

и на лозе были три ветви. Едва на ней показались почки, как она расцвела, и цветы сразу превратились в гроздья винограда.

11 a nd Pharaoh's cup in my hand, and I take the grapes and press them into the cup of Pharaoh, and I give the cup into the hand of Pharaoh.'

У меня в руке была чаша фараона; я взял виноград, выжал сок в чашу и подал чашу в руку фараону.

12 A nd Joseph saith to him, `This its interpretation: the three branches are three days;

– Вот что это значит, – сказал ему Иосиф. – Три ветви – это три дня.

13 y et, within three days doth Pharaoh lift up thy head, and hath put thee back on thy station, and thou hast given the cup of Pharaoh into his hand, according to the former custom when thou wast his butler.

Через три дня фараон возвысит тебя и возвратит на прежнее место, и ты подашь фараону его чашу, как в прежние времена, когда ты был его виночерпием.

14 ` Surely if thou hast remembered me with thee, when it is well with thee, and hast done (I pray thee) kindness with me, and hast made mention of me unto Pharaoh, then hast thou brought me out from this house,

Но в те добрые для тебя времена, молю тебя, вспомни обо мне и окажи мне милость: упомяни обо мне фараону, чтобы вызволить меня из темницы.

15 f or I was really stolen from the land of the Hebrews; and here also have I done nothing that they have put me in the pit.'

Меня ведь насильно увезли из земли евреев, и здесь я тоже не сделал ничего такого, чтобы сидеть в темнице.

16 A nd the chief of the bakers seeth that he hath interpreted good, and he saith unto Joseph, `I also in a dream, and lo, three baskets of white bread on my head,

Увидев, что Иосиф дал благоприятное истолкование, главный пекарь сказал Иосифу: – Мне тоже приснился сон: я держал на голове три корзины с хлебом.

17 a nd in the uppermost basket of all of Pharaoh's food, work of a baker; and the birds are eating them out of the basket, from off my head.'

В верхней была всякая выпечка для фараона, но ее клевали птицы прямо из корзины на моей голове.

18 A nd Joseph answereth and saith, `This its interpretation: the three baskets are three days;

– Вот что это значит, – сказал Иосиф. – Три корзины – это три дня.

19 y et, within three days doth Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and hath hanged thee on a tree, and the birds have eaten thy flesh from off thee.'

Через три дня фараон возвысит и тебя тоже – тебе отрубят голову, а тело посадят на кол, и птицы будут клевать его.

20 A nd it cometh to pass, on the third day, Pharaoh's birthday, that he maketh a banquet to all his servants, and lifteth up the head of the chief of the butlers, and the head of the chief of the bakers among his servants,

На третий день, в свой день рождения, фараон устроил пир для всех своих придворных, и в их окружении он возвысил главного виночерпия и главного пекаря:

21 a nd he putteth back the chief of the butlers to his butlership, and he giveth the cup into the hand of Pharaoh;

главного виночерпия он возвратил на прежнее место, и тот вновь подал чашу в руку фараону,

22 a nd the chief of the bakers he hath hanged, as Joseph hath interpreted to them;

а главного пекаря посадил на кол, как Иосиф и сказал им в своем истолковании.

23 a nd the chief of the butlers hath not remembered Joseph, but forgetteth him.

Но главный виночерпий не вспомнил об Иосифе; он забыл о нем.
