1 A nd Huram king of Tyre sendeth messengers unto David, and cedar-wood, and artificers of walls, and artificers of wood, to build to him a house.

Хирам, царь города Тира, отправил к Давиду послов, каменщиков, плотников и кедровые бревна, чтобы построить ему дворец.

2 A nd David knoweth that Jehovah hath established him for king over Israel, because of the lifting up on high of his kingdom, for the sake of His people Israel.

Давид понял, что Господь утвердил его царем над Израилем, и что царство его высоко вознесено ради Его народа Израиля.

3 A nd David taketh again wives in Jerusalem, and David begetteth again sons and daughters;

В Иерусалиме Давид взял себе еще жен, и у него родились еще сыновья и дочери.

4 a nd these the names of the children whom he hath in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

Вот имена детей, которые родились у него в Иерусалиме: Шаммуа, Шовав, Нафан, Соломон,

5 a nd Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,

6 a nd Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

Ногах, Нефег, Иафия,

7 a nd Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

8 A nd the Philistines hear that David hath been anointed for king over all Israel, and all the Philistines go up to seek David, and David heareth, and goeth out before them.

Услышав о том, что Давид помазан в цари над всем Израилем, все филистимляне отправились искать его, но Давид узнал об этом и выступил против них.

9 A nd the Philistines have come, and rush into the valley of Rephaim,

Филистимляне пришли и принялись разбойничать в долине Рефаим.

10 a nd David asketh of God, saying, `Do I go up against the Philistines -- and hast Thou given them into my hand?' And Jehovah saith to him, `Go up, and I have given them into thy hand.'

Давид вопросил Бога: – Идти ли мне на филистимлян? Отдашь ли Ты их мне? Господь ответил ему: – Иди, Я отдам их в твои руки.

11 A nd they go up into Baal-Perazim, and David smiteth them there, and David saith, `God hath broken up mine enemies by my hand, like the breaking up of waters;' therefore they have called the name of that place Baal-Perazim.

Давид со своими воинами пошел к Баал-Парециму и разбил там филистимлян. Он сказал: – Бог разбил моих врагов моей рукой, как прорвавшаяся вода. Поэтому то место и было названо Баал-Парецим.

12 A nd they leave there their gods, and David speaketh, and they are burnt with fire.

Филистимляне бросили там своих богов, и по приказу Давида их сожгли.

13 A nd the Philistines add again, and rush into the valley,

Филистимляне снова принялись разбойничать в долине.

14 a nd David asketh again of God, and God saith to him, `Do not go up after them, turn round from them, and thou hast come to them from over-against the mulberries;

Давид вновь спросил Бога, и Бог ответил ему: – Не нападай на них отсюда, но обойди их и напади на них со стороны бальзамовых деревьев.

15 a nd it cometh to pass, when thou hearest the sound of the stepping at the heads of the mulberries, then thou goest out into battle, for God hath gone out before thee to smite the camp of the Philistines.'

Как только ты услышишь в вершинах бальзамовых деревьев шум как от шагов, тотчас же вступай в бой, потому что Бог вышел перед тобой, чтобы разбить войско филистимлян.

16 A nd David doth as God commanded him, and they smite the camp of the Philistines from Gibeon even unto Gazer;

Давид сделал так, как повелел ему Бог, и они разили филистимское войско всю дорогу от Гаваона до Гезера.

17 a nd the name of David goeth out into all the lands, and Jehovah hath put his fear on all the nations.

Слава Давида прошла по всем странам, и Господь навел страх перед ним на все народы.
