1 A nd it came to pass in Iconium, that they did enter together into the synagogue of the Jews, and spake, so that there believed both of Jews and Greeks a great multitude;

В Иконии Павел и Варнава вошли, как обычно, в иудейскую синагогу и говорили так убедительно, что поверило очень много иудеев и греков.

2 a nd the unbelieving Jews did stir up and made evil the souls of the nations against the brethren;

Однако иудеи, которые отказались им верить, возбудили язычников и настроили их против братьев.

3 l ong time, indeed, therefore, did they abide speaking boldly in the Lord, who is testifying to the word of His grace, and granting signs and wonders to come to pass through their hands.

Павел и Варнава провели там довольно много времени. Они смело говорили о Господе, Который подтверждал весть о Своей благодати, давая им силу совершать знамения и чудеса.

4 A nd the multitude of the city was divided, and some were with the Jews, and some with the apostles,

Жители города разделились. Одни поддерживали иудеев, а другие – апостолов.

5 a nd when there was a purpose both of the nations and of the Jews with their rulers to use despitefully, and to stone them,

Но когда язычники и иудеи вместе со своими начальниками захотели применить силу и побить их камнями,

6 t hey having become aware, did flee to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, and Derbe, and to the region round about,

те, узнав об этом, бежали в города Ликаонии Листру и Дервию и в их окрестности,

7 a nd there they were proclaiming good news.

где продолжали возвещать Радостную Весть. Служение в Листре

8 A nd a certain man in Lystra, impotent in the feet, was sitting, being lame from the womb of his mother -- who never had walked,

В Листре жил человек, не владевший ногами; он был хромым от рождения и никогда не ходил.

9 t his one was hearing Paul speaking, who, having stedfastly beheld him, and having seen that he hath faith to be saved,

Он слушал то, что говорил Павел. Павел же посмотрел на него и увидел, что у того есть вера для исцеления.

10 s aid with a loud voice, `Stand up on thy feet upright;' and he was springing and walking,

– Встань на ноги твои прямо! – громко сказал он калеке. Тот вскочил и начал ходить.

11 a nd the multitudes having seen what Paul did, did lift up their voice, in the speech of Lycaonia, saying, `The gods, having become like men, did come down unto us;'

Люди увидели, что сделал Павел, и стали кричать на ликаонском языке: – К нам сошли боги в образе людей!

12 t hey were calling also Barnabas Zeus, and Paul Hermes, since he was the leader in speaking.

Они назвали Варнаву Зевсом и Павла Гермесом, потому что говорил в основном он.

13 A nd the priest of the Zeus that is before their city, oxen and garlands unto the porches having brought, with the multitudes did wish to sacrifice,

За городом был храм Зевса, и его жрец привел к городским воротам быков и принес венки; желая вместе с народом принести им жертву.

14 a nd having heard, the apostles Barnabas and Paul, having rent their garments, did spring into the multitude, crying

Когда же апостолы Варнава и Павел услышали об этом, они разорвали свои одежды, кинулись в толпу и стали кричать:

15 a nd saying, `Men, why these things do ye? and we are men like-affected with you, proclaiming good news to you, from these vanities to turn unto the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all the things in them;

– Опомнитесь, что вы делаете? Мы такие же люди, как и вы! Мы принесли вам Радостную Весть, и мы хотим, чтобы вы оставили этих бесполезных идолов и обратились к живому Богу, Который создал небо и землю, море и все, что в них.

16 w ho in the past generations did suffer all the nations to go on in their ways,

В прошлом Он позволял народам ходить каждому своими путями,

17 t hough, indeed, without witness He did not leave himself, doing good -- from heaven giving rains to us, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness;'

но продолжал свидетельствовать о Себе, делая добро, посылая вам дождь с небес и урожай в свое время, давая пищу и наполняя ваши сердца радостью.

18 a nd these things saying, scarcely did they restrain the multitudes from sacrificing to them.

Но даже этими словами им едва удалось убедить народ не приносить им жертву.

19 A nd there came thither, from Antioch and Iconium, Jews, and they having persuaded the multitudes, and having stoned Paul, drew him outside of the city, having supposed him to be dead;

Однако иудеи, которые пришли из Антиохии и Иконии, склонили толпу на свою сторону. Павла побили камнями и выволокли за город, думая, что он уже мертв.

20 a nd the disciples having surrounded him, having risen he entered into the city, and on the morrow he went forth with Barnabas to Derbe.

Но когда ученики собрались вокруг него, он поднялся и пошел обратно в город. На следующий день они с Варнавой ушли в Дервию. Возвращение в Сирийскую Антиохию

21 H aving proclaimed good news also to that city, and having discipled many, they turned back to Lystra, and Iconium, and Antioch,

Они возвещали Радостную Весть в этом городе и приобрели много учеников. Затем они возвратились в Листру, Иконию и Антиохию.

22 c onfirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting to remain in the faith, and that through many tribulations it behoveth us to enter into the reign of God,

Там они ободряли учеников и воодушевляли их оставаться твердыми в вере. – Нам предстоит испытать много скорбей перед тем, как мы войдем в Божье Царство, – говорили они.

23 a nd having appointed to them by vote elders in every assembly, having prayed with fastings, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

Павел и Варнава в каждой церкви назначили старших и, помолившись с постом, передали их Господу, в Которого они уверовали.

24 A nd having passed through Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia,

Затем они прошли Писидию и пришли в Памфилию.

25 a nd having spoken in Perga the word, they went down to Attalia,

Проповедовав слово в Пергии, они пришли в Атталию.

26 a nd thence did sail to Antioch, whence they had been given by the grace of God for the work that they fulfilled;

Из Атталии они отплыли обратно в Антиохию, где были вверены Божьей благодати на труд, который они и исполнили.

27 a nd having come and gathered together the assembly, they declared as many things as God did with them, and that He did open to the nations a door of faith;

Вернувшись обратно, они собрали церковь и рассказали обо всем, что Бог совершил через них и как Он открыл дверь веры для язычников.

28 a nd they abode there not a little time with the disciples.

Там они пробыли довольно много времени вместе с учениками.
