1 A nd it cometh to pass when Jabin king of Hazor heareth, that he sendeth unto Jobab king of Madon, and unto the king of Shimron, and unto the king of Achshaph,

Когда Иавин, царь Хацора, услышал об этом, он послал сообщить Иоваву, царю Мадона, царям Шимрона и Ахсафа,

2 a nd unto the kings who on the north in the hill-country, and in the plain south of Chinneroth, and in the low country, and in the elevations of Dor, on the west,

и царям, которые жили в северных нагорьях, в иорданской долине к югу от Киннерета, в западных предгорьях и на возвышенностях Дора на западе;

3 t he Canaanite on the east, and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill-country, and the Hivite under Hermon, in the land of Mizpeh --

хананеям на востоке и на западе; аморреям, хеттам, ферезеям и иевусеям в нагорьях и хивеям под Хермоном в области Мицпы.

4 a nd they go out, they and all their camps with them, a people numerous, as the sand which on the sea-shore for multitude, and horse and charioteer very many;

Они выступили со всеми своими воинами и большим количеством коней и колесниц – огромным войском, многочисленным, как песок на морском берегу.

5 a nd all these kings are met together, and they come and encamp together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.

Все эти цари объединили свои силы, и, придя, встали лагерем у реки Мерома, чтобы воевать с Израилем.

6 A nd Jehovah saith unto Joshua, `Be not afraid of their presence, for to-morrow about this time I am giving all of them wounded before Israel; their horses thou dost hough, and their chariots burn with fire.'

Господь сказал Иисусу: – Не бойся их, потому что завтра к этому времени Я отдам всех их Израилю убитыми. Перережь жилы их коням и сожги их колесницы.

7 A nd Joshua cometh, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and they fall on them;

Иисус и все его войско внезапно вышли на них возле реки Мерома и напали,

8 a nd Jehovah giveth them into the hand of Israel, and they smite them and pursue them unto the great Zidon, and unto Misrephoth-Maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward, and they smite them, till he hath not left to them a remnant;

а Господь отдал их в руки Израиля. Они разбили их и гнались за ними до великого Сидона и Мисрефот-Маима и до долины Мицпы на востоке, пока никого из них не осталось в живых.

9 a nd Joshua doth to them as Jehovah said to him; their horses he hath houghed, and their chariots burnt with fire.

Иисус поступил с ними так, как сказал ему Господь, – он перерезал жилы их коням и сжег их колесницы.

10 A nd Joshua turneth back at that time, and captureth Hazor, and its king he hath smitten by the sword; for Hazor formerly head of all these kingdoms;

В то время Иисус повернул назад, взял Хацор и предал его царя мечу. (Хацор был главным из всех этих царств.)

11 a nd they smite every person who in it by the mouth of the sword; he hath devoted -- he hath not left any one breathing, and Hazor he hath burnt with fire;

Всех, кто в нем был, они предали мечу, уничтожив их полностью – никого не оставили в живых; а сам город он сжег.

12 a nd all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, hath Joshua captured, and he smiteth them by the mouth of the sword; he devoted them, as Moses, servant of Jehovah, commanded.

Иисус взял все эти царские города и их царей и предал их мечу. Он полностью уничтожил их, как велел слуга Господа Моисей.

13 O nly, all the cities which are standing by their hill, Israel hath not burned them, save Hazor only, hath Joshua burnt;

Впрочем Израиль не сжег ни один из городов, построенных на возвышенностях, кроме Хацора, который сжег Иисус.

14 a nd all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, have the sons of Israel spoiled for themselves; only, every human being they have smitten by the mouth of the sword, till their destroying them; they have not left any one breathing.

Израильтяне забирали себе из этих городов всю добычу и скот, а всех жителей предавали мечу, пока не истребили их полностью, не оставляя в живых ничего, что дышало.

15 A s Jehovah commanded Moses His servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so hath Joshua done; he hath not turned aside a thing of all that Jehovah commanded Moses.

Как повелел Своему слуге Моисею Господь, так Моисей повелел Иисусу, а Иисус исполнил это – он не оставил неисполненным ничего из того, что Господь повелел Моисею.

16 A nd Joshua taketh all this land: the hill-country, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the low country, and the plain, even the hill-country of Israel and its low lands,

Иисус захватил всю эту землю: нагорья, весь Негев, всю область Гошен, западные предгорья, иорданскую долину и горы Израиля с их предгорьями

17 f rom the mount of Halak, which is going up Seir, and unto Baal-Gad, in the valley of Lebanon, under mount Hermon; and all their kings he hath captured, and he smiteth them, and putteth them to death.

от горы Халак, которая высится к Сеиру, до самого Баал-Гада в долине Ливана, под горой Хермон. Он захватил всех их царей и, сразив их, предал смерти.

18 M any days hath Joshua made with all these kings war;

Долгое время Иисус воевал с этими царями.

19 t here hath not been a city which made peace with the sons of Israel save the Hivite, inhabitants of Gibeon; the whole they have taken in battle;

Кроме хивеев, что в Гаваоне, ни один город не заключил мира с израильтянами, все их они взяли войной.

20 f or from Jehovah it hath been to strengthen their heart, to meet in battle with Israel, in order to devote them, so that they have no grace, but in order to destroy them, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

Ведь Сам Господь ожесточил их сердца, чтобы они воевали с Израилем, чтобы им быть полностью уничтоженными, безжалостно истребленными, как повелел Моисею Господь.

21 A nd Joshua cometh at that time, and cutteth off the Anakim from the hill-country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, even from all the hill-country of Judah, and from all the hill-country of Israel; with their cities hath Joshua devoted them.

В то время Иисус пошел и искоренил анакитов в нагорьях: в Хевроне, Давире и Анаве, во всех нагорьях Иуды и во всех нагорьях Израиля. Иисус полностью уничтожил их и их города.

22 T here hath not been left Anakim in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, were they left.

На земле Израиля анакитов не осталось, они уцелели лишь в Газе, Гате и Ашдоде.

23 A nd Joshua taketh the whole of the land, according to all that Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses, and Joshua giveth it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions, by their tribes; and the land hath rest from war.

Так Иисус захватил всю ту землю, как говорил Моисею Господь, и отдал ее в наследие израильтянам по их родовым разделениям. И земля успокоилась от войны.
