1 A nd Hiram king of Tyre sendeth his servants unto Solomon, for he heard that they had anointed him for king instead of his father, for Hiram was a lover of David all the days;

Когда Хирам, царь Тира, услышал о том, что Соломон помазан в преемники своему отцу Давиду, он отправил к Соломону послов, потому что Хирам всегда был другом Давида.

2 a nd Solomon sendeth unto Hiram, saying,

Соломон же послал сказать Хираму:

3 ` Thou hast known David my father, that he hath not been able to build a house to the name of Jehovah his God, because of the wars that have been round about him, till Jehovah's putting them under the soles of his feet.

– Ты знаешь, что из-за войн, что велись против моего отца Давида со всех сторон, он не смог построить дом для Имени Господа, своего Бога, пока Господь не положил его врагов ему под ноги.

4 ` And now, Jehovah my God hath given rest to me round about, there is no adversary nor evil occurrence,

Но теперь Господь, мой Бог, дал мне покой со всех сторон, и нет ни противника, ни бедствия.

5 a nd lo, I am saying to build a house to the name of Jehovah my God, as Jehovah spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son whom I appoint in thy stead on thy throne, he doth build the house for My name.

Поэтому я хочу построить дом для Имени Господа, моего Бога, как Господь сказал моему отцу Давиду: «Твой сын, которого Я посажу на престол на твое место, построит дом для Моего Имени».

6 ` And now, command, and they cut down for me cedars out of Lebanon, and my servants are with thy servants, and the hire of thy servants I give to thee according to all that thou sayest, for thou hast known that there is not among us a man acquainted with cutting wood, like the Sidonians.'

Так повели рубить для меня ливанские кедры. Мои люди будут работать вместе с твоими, и я буду платить тебе за твоих людей, сколько бы ты ни сказал. Ты знаешь, что у нас нет никого, кто умеет рубить деревья, как сидоняне.

7 A nd it cometh to pass at Hiram's hearing the words of Solomon, that he rejoiceth exceedingly, and saith, `Blessed Jehovah to-day, who hath given to David a wise son over this numerous people.'

Выслушав слова Соломона, Хирам очень обрадовался и сказал: – Слава сегодня Господу, ведь Он даровал Давиду мудрого сына, чтобы править этим великим народом!

8 A nd Hiram sendeth unto Solomon, saying, I have heard that which thou hast sent unto me, I do all thy desire concerning cedar-wood, and fir-wood,

И Хирам послал сказать Соломону: «Я выслушал то, с чем ты ко мне посылал, и сделаю все, чего ты хочешь относительно кедрового и кипарисового дерева.

9 m y servants bring down from Lebanon to the sea, and I make them floats in the sea unto the place that thou sendest unto me, and I have spread them out there; and thou dost take up, and thou dost execute my desire, to give the food of my house.'

Мои люди свезут бревна с Ливана к морю, и я сплавлю их плотами по морю, куда ты укажешь. Там я их разделю, и ты сможешь их забрать. А ты исполнишь мое желание, поставляя продовольствие для моего царского дома».

10 A nd Hiram is giving to Solomon cedar-trees, and fir-trees, all his desire,

Так Хирам поставлял Соломону кедровое и кипарисовое дерево, сколько тот хотел,

11 a nd Solomon hath given to Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat, food for his house, and twenty cors of beaten oil; thus doth Solomon give to Hiram year by year.

а Соломон давал Хираму двадцать тысяч коров пшеницы для его дома, не считая двадцати тысяч батов оливкового масла. Соломон поставлял это Хираму год за годом.

12 A nd Jehovah hath given wisdom to Solomon as He spake to him, and there is peace between Hiram and Solomon, and they make a covenant both of them.

Господь даровал Соломону мудрость, как Он ему и обещал. Между Соломоном и Хирамом был мир, и они заключили между собой союз.

13 A nd king Solomon lifteth up a tribute out of all Israel, and the tribute is thirty thousand men,

Царь Соломон набрал работников по всему Израилю – тридцать тысяч человек.

14 a nd he sendeth them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month, by changes, a month they are in Lebanon, two months in their own house; and Adoniram over the tribute.

Он посылал их на Ливан по очереди – десять тысяч человек в месяц. Один месяц они находились в Ливане и два месяца дома. Надсмотрщиком за подневольными рабочими был Адонирам.

15 A nd king Solomon hath seventy thousand bearing burdens, and eighty thousand hewing in the mountain,

У Соломона было семьдесят тысяч носильщиков и восемьдесят тысяч каменотесов в горах,

16 a part from the heads of the officers of Solomon, who over the work, three thousand and three hundred, those ruling over the people who are working in the business.

а также три тысячи триста начальников, которые смотрели за строительством и распоряжались рабочими.

17 A nd the king commandeth, and they bring great stones, precious stone, to lay the foundation of the house, hewn stones;

По повелению царя они добывали большие дорогие камни, чтобы заложить основание дома из тесаного камня.

18 a nd the builders of Solomon, and the builders of Hiram, and the Giblites hew, and prepare the wood and the stones to build the house.

Ремесленники Соломона и Хирама и люди из Гевала рубили и обрабатывали дерево и камень для строительства дома.
