1 A nd strengthen himself doth Solomon son of David over his kingdom, and Jehovah his God with him, and maketh him exceedingly great.

Соломон, сын Давида, прочно утвердился в своем царстве, и Господь, его Бог, был с ним и необыкновенно возвеличил его.

2 A nd Solomon saith to all Israel, to heads of the thousands, and of the hundreds, and to judges, and to every honourable one of all Israel, heads of the fathers,

Соломон собрал весь Израиль – тысячников и сотников, судей и всех вождей всего Израиля, глав семейств.

3 a nd they go -- Solomon, and all the assembly with him -- to the high place that in Gibeon, for there hath been God's tent of meeting, that Moses, servant of Jehovah, made in the wilderness,

Во главе этого собрания Соломон отправился к святилищу в Гаваоне, потому что там находилась Божья скиния собрания, которую устроил в пустыне Моисей, слуга Господень.

4 b ut the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjath-Jearim, when David prepared for it, for he stretched out for it a tent in Jerusalem;

А Давид уже перенес Божий ковчег из города Кирьят-Иеарима на место, которое он приготовил для него, поставив для него шатер в Иерусалиме.

5 a nd the altar of brass that Bezaleel son of Uri, son of Hur made, he put before the tabernacle of Jehovah; and Solomon and the assembly seek to it.

Но бронзовый жертвенник, который сделал Веселеил, сын Урия, внук Хура, находился в Гаваоне перед скинией Господа, поэтому Соломон и все собравшиеся люди говорили там с Господом.

6 A nd Solomon goeth up thither, on the altar of brass, before Jehovah, that at the tent of meeting, and causeth to ascend upon it a thousand burnt-offerings.

В присутствии Господа Соломон поднялся к бронзовому жертвеннику, который был перед скинией собрания, и принес на нем тысячу всесожжений.

7 I n that night hath God appeared to Solomon, and saith to him, `Ask -- what do I give to thee?'

В ту ночь Бог явился Соломону и сказал ему: – Проси у Меня, чего хочешь.

8 A nd Solomon saith to God, `Thou hast done with David my father great kindness, and hast caused me to reign in his stead.

Соломон ответил Богу: – Ты явил моему отцу Давиду великую милость и сделал меня царем вместо него.

9 N ow, O Jehovah God, is Thy word with David my father stedfast, for Thou hast caused me to reign over a people numerous as the dust of the earth;

И теперь, Господи Боже, пусть исполнится то, что Ты обещал моему отцу Давиду, ведь Ты сделал меня царем народа, который многочислен, как земная пыль.

10 n ow, wisdom and knowledge give to me, and I go out before this people, and I come in, for who doth judge this Thy great people?'

Дай мне теперь мудрости и знаний, чтобы я мог вести этот народ; иначе кто способен править Твоим многочисленным народом?

11 A nd God saith to Solomon, `Because that this hath been with thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, and honour, and the life of those hating thee, and also many days hast not asked, and dost ask for thyself wisdom and knowledge, so that thou dost judge My people over which I have caused thee to reign --

Бог сказал Соломону: – За то, что желание твоего сердца было таким и ты не просил ни богатства, ни сокровищ, ни славы, ни смерти своим врагам, ни долгой жизни для себя, но лишь мудрости и знания, чтобы править Моим народом, царем которого Я тебя сделал,

12 t he wisdom and the knowledge is given to thee, and riches and wealth and honour I give to thee, that there hath not been so to the kings who before thee, and after thee it is not so.'

тебе будут даны мудрость и знание. Более того, Я дам тебе богатства, сокровища и славу, каких не было ни у кого из царей до тебя и после тебя не будет.

13 A nd Solomon cometh in the high place that in Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tent of meeting, and reigneth over Israel,

Соломон ушел из святилища в Гаваоне, из шатра собрания, и пришел в Иерусалим, чтобы править Израилем. Сила и богатство Соломона (3 Цар. 10: 26-29; 2 Пар. 9: 25-28)

14 a nd Solomon gathereth chariots and horsemen, and he hath a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he placeth them in the cities of the chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem.

Соломон преумножал количество своих колесниц и коней. У него было тысяча четыреста колесниц и двенадцать тысяч коней, которых он разместил в колесничных городах и у себя в Иерусалиме.

15 A nd the king maketh the silver and the gold in Jerusalem as stones, and the cedars he made as sycamores that in the low country, for abundance.

В его правление серебро и золото в Иерусалиме ценились не выше простых камней, а кедра было так же много, как тутовых деревьев в предгорьях Иудеи.

16 A nd the source of the horses that to Solomon from Egypt and from Keva; merchants of the king from Keva take at a price,

Кони Соломона поставлялись из Египта и из Кувы – царские купцы покупали их в Куве.

17 a nd they come up, and bring out from Egypt a chariot for six hundred silverlings, and a horse for fifty and a hundred, and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of Aram -- by their hand they bring out.

Колесницу привозили из Египта за шестьсот шекелей серебра, а коня – за сто пятьдесят. Так же, через царских купцов, их доставляли всем царям хеттов и арамеев.
