1 A nd the sons of Israel add to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and Jehovah giveth them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

Израильтяне вновь стали творить зло в глазах Господа, и Господь отдал их в руки филистимлян на сорок лет.

2 A nd there is a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danite, and his name Manoah, his wife barren, and hath not borne;

У одного человека из поселения Цоры по имени Маноах из клана данитян жена была бесплодна и не имела детей.

3 a nd a messenger of Jehovah appeareth unto the woman, and saith unto her, `Lo, I pray thee, thou barren, and hast not borne; when thou hast conceived, then thou hast borne a son.

Ангел Господень явился ей и сказал: – Ты бесплодна и не имеешь детей, но забеременеешь и родишь сына.

4 A nd, now, take heed, I pray thee, and do not drink wine, and strong drink, and do not eat any unclean thing,

Итак, смотри, не пей ни вина, ни другого алкогольного напитка, и не ешь ничего ритуально нечистого,

5 f or, lo, thou art conceiving and bearing a son, and a razor doth not go up on his head, for a Nazarite to God is the youth from the womb, and he doth begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.'

потому что ты забеременеешь и родишь сына. Его головы не коснется бритва, потому что мальчик с самого рождения будет назореем Богу. Именно он начнет спасать Израиль от рук филистимлян.

6 A nd the woman cometh and speaketh to her husband, saying, `A man of God hath come unto me, and his appearance as the appearance of a messenger of God, very fearful, and I have not asked him whence he, and his name he hath not declared to me;

Женщина пошла к своему мужу и сказала ему: – Ко мне приходил Божий человек. Он был похож на Божьего Ангела, Его вид внушал благоговейный ужас. Я не спросила Его, откуда Он, а Он не сказал мне Своего Имени.

7 a nd he saith to me, Lo, thou art pregnant, and bearing a son, and now do not drink wine and strong drink, and do not eat any unclean thing, for a Nazarite to God is the youth from the womb till the day of his death.'

Но Он сказал мне: «Ты забеременеешь и родишь сына. Поэтому не пей ни вина, ни другого алкогольного напитка и не ешь ничего ритуально нечистого, потому что мальчик будет назореем Богу с рождения до самой смерти».

8 A nd Manoah maketh entreaty unto Jehovah, and saith, `O, my Lord, the man of God whom Thou didst send, let him come in, I pray thee, again unto us, and direct us what we do to the youth who is born.'

И Маноах молился Господу: – Владыка, прошу Тебя, пусть Божий человек, Которого Ты посылал к нам, придет опять и научит нас, что нам делать с мальчиком, который должен родиться.

9 A nd God hearkeneth to the voice of Manoah, and the messenger of God cometh again unto the woman, and she sitting in a field, and Manoah her husband is not with her,

Бог услышал Маноаха, и Божий Ангел вновь пришел к той женщине, когда она была в поле; но ее мужа Маноаха с ней не было.

10 a nd the woman hasteth, and runneth, and declareth to her husband, and saith unto him, `Lo, he hath appeared unto me -- the man who came on day unto me.'

Женщина тут же побежала и сказала своему мужу: – Он здесь! Тот человек, Который приходил ко мне тогда!

11 A nd Manoah riseth, and goeth after his wife, and cometh unto the man, and saith to him, `Art thou the man who spake unto the woman?' and he saith, `I.'

Маноах встал и пошел за своей женой. Он пришел к тому человеку и спросил: – Это Ты говорил с моей женой? – Я, – ответил Он.

12 A nd Manoah saith, `Now let thy words come to pass; what is the custom of the youth -- and his work?'

И Маноах спросил Его: – Когда Твои слова исполнятся, как жить мальчику, и что ему делать?

13 A nd the messenger of Jehovah saith unto Manoah, `Of all that I said unto the woman let her take heed;

Ангел Господень ответил: – Твоя жена должна исполнять все, что Я ей сказал.

14 o f anything which cometh out from the wine-vine she doth not eat, and wine and strong drink she doth not drink, and any unclean thing she doth not eat; all that I have commanded her she doth observe.'

Она не должна есть ничего, что дает виноградная лоза, пить вина и никакого другого алкогольного напитка, а также есть что-либо ритуально нечистое. Она должна делать все, что Я ей велел.

15 A nd Manoah saith unto the messenger of Jehovah, `Let us detain thee, we pray thee, and prepare before thee a kid of the goats.'

Маноах сказал Ангелу Господнему: – Мы хотели бы, чтобы Ты остался, пока мы не приготовим для Тебя козленка.

16 A nd the messenger of Jehovah saith unto Manoah, `If thou detain me -- I do not eat of thy bread; and if thou prepare a burnt-offering -- to Jehovah thou dost offer it;' for Manoah hath not known that He a messenger of Jehovah.

Ангел Господень ответил Маноаху: – Хоть ты удерживаешь Меня, Я не буду есть твоего угощения. Но если ты приготовишь всесожжение, принеси его Господу. (Маноах не знал, что это был Ангел Господень.)

17 A nd Manoah saith unto the messenger of Jehovah, `What thy name? when thy words come to pass, then we have honoured thee.'

Маноах спросил Ангела Господнего: – Как Твое Имя, чтобы нам отблагодарить Тебя, когда Твои слова исполнятся?

18 A nd the messenger of Jehovah saith to him, `Why this -- thou dost ask for My name? -- and it Wonderful.'

Ангел Господень ответил: – Зачем ты спрашиваешь Мое Имя? Оно чудно.

19 A nd Manoah taketh the kid of the goats, and the present, and offereth on the rock to Jehovah, and He is doing wonderfully, and Manoah and his wife are looking on,

Тогда Маноах взял козленка и хлебное приношение и принес на скале в жертву Господу, Который сотворил чудо, пока Маноах и его жена глядели.

20 a nd it cometh to pass, in the going up of the flame from off the altar toward the heavens, that the messenger of Jehovah goeth up in the flame of the altar, and Manoah and his wife are looking on, and they fall on their faces to the earth,

Когда пламя с жертвенника поднялось к небу, Ангел Господень вознесся в пламени жертвенника, пока Маноах и его жена глядели; увидев это, они бросились лицом вниз на землю.

21 a nd the messenger of Jehovah hath not added again to appear unto Manoah, and unto his wife, then hath Manoah known that He a messenger of Jehovah.

Когда Ангел Господень стал невидим Маноаху и его жене, Маноах понял, что это был Ангел Господень.

22 A nd Manoah saith unto his wife, `We certainly die, for we have seen God.'

– Теперь мы наверняка умрем! – сказал Маноах своей жене. – Ведь мы видели Бога!

23 A nd his wife saith to him, `If Jehovah were desirous to put us to death, He had not received from our hands burnt-offering and present, nor shewed us all these things, nor as time caused us to hear like this.'

Но его жена ответила: – Если бы Господь хотел нам смерти, Он не принял бы из наших рук всесожжения и хлебного приношения и не возвестил бы нам сейчас всего этого.

24 A nd the woman beareth a son, and calleth his name Samson, and the youth groweth, and Jehovah doth bless him,

Женщина родила сына и назвала его Самсоном. Мальчик рос, и Господь благословлял его,

25 a nd the Spirit of Jehovah beginneth to move him in the camp of Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

и Дух Господа начал действовать в нем, когда он был в Махане-Дане, между Цорой и Эштаолом.
