1 ` Take heed your kindness not to do before men, to be seen by them, and if not -- reward ye have not from your Father who in the heavens;

Смотрите, не выставляйте свою праведность напоказ. Иначе вы не получите от Небесного Отца никакой награды.

2 w henever, therefore, thou mayest do kindness, thou mayest not sound a trumpet before thee as the hypocrites do, in the synagogues, and in the streets, that they may have glory from men; verily I say to you -- they have their reward!

Когда даешь милостыню бедным, то не объявляй об этом всем, как делают лицемеры в синагогах и на улицах для того, чтобы их хвалили. Говорю вам истину: они уже получили свою награду.

3 ` But thou, doing kindness, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doth,

Ты же, когда помогаешь бедным, делай это так, чтобы твоя левая рука не знала, что делает правая;

4 t hat thy kindness may be in secret, and thy Father who is seeing in secret Himself shall reward thee manifestly.

пусть твоя помощь будет тайной. Тогда твой Отец, Который видит и то, что делается втайне, вознаградит тебя. Молитва (Мк. 11: 25-26; Лк. 11: 2-4)

5 ` And when thou mayest pray, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites, because they love in the synagogues, and in the corners of the broad places -- standing -- to pray, that they may be seen of men; verily I say to you, that they have their reward.

Когда вы молитесь, то не будьте как лицемеры, которые любят молиться, стоя в синагогах и на углах улиц таким образом, чтобы все их видели. Говорю вам истину: они уже получили свою награду.

6 ` But thou, when thou mayest pray, go into thy chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who in secret, and thy Father who is seeing in secret, shall reward thee manifestly.

Ты же, когда молишься, войди в комнату, закрой за собой дверь и помолись своему Небесному Отцу, Который невидимо находится с тобой. Тогда твой Отец, Который видит и то, что делается втайне, вознаградит тебя.

7 ` And -- praying -- ye may not use vain repetitions like the nations, for they think that in their much speaking they shall be heard,

Когда вы молитесь, то не болтайте попусту, как это делают язычники, которые думают, что будут услышаны благодаря своему многословию.

8 b e ye not therefore like to them, for your Father doth know those things that ye have need of before your asking him;

Не будьте, как они, ведь ваш Отец знает о ваших нуждах еще до того, как вы обращаетесь к Нему с просьбой.

9 t hus therefore pray ye: `Our Father who in the heavens! hallowed be Thy name.

Молитесь так: Отец наш на Небесах, пусть прославится Твое Имя!

10 ` Thy reign come: Thy will come to pass, as in heaven also on the earth.

Пусть придет Твое Царство и исполнится воля Твоя на земле, как и на небесах.

11 ` Our appointed bread give us to-day.

Дай нам сегодня насущный наш хлеб.

12 ` And forgive us our debts, as also we forgive our debtors.

Прости нам наши долги, как и мы простили должникам нашим.

13 ` And mayest Thou not lead us to temptation, but deliver us from the evil, because Thine is the reign, and the power, and the glory -- to the ages. Amen.

Не дай нам поддаться искушению, но избавь нас от лукавого. Тебе принадлежит Царство, сила и слава вовеки. Аминь.

14 ` For, if ye may forgive men their trespasses He also will forgive you -- your Father who in the heavens;

Потому что, если вы будете прощать людям их проступки, то и ваш Небесный Отец простит вас.

15 b ut if ye may not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Но если вы не будете прощать людям, то и ваш Отец не простит вам ваших проступков. О посте

16 ` And when ye may fast, be ye not as the hypocrites, of sour countenances, for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear to men fasting; verily I say to you, that they have their reward.

Когда вы поститесь, то не ходите с мрачными лицами, как лицемеры, которые хотят показать своим видом, что постятся. Говорю вам истину: они уже получили свою награду.

17 ` But thou, fasting, anoint thy head, and wash thy face,

Ты же, когда постишься, умойся и помажь голову твою

18 t hat thou mayest not appear to men fasting, but to thy Father who in secret, and thy Father, who is seeing in secret, shall reward thee manifestly.

чтобы люди не замечали, что ты постишься. Пусть только твой Небесный Отец, Который невидимо находится с тобой, знает об этом, и тогда Он вознаградит тебя, ведь Он видит и то, что делается втайне. Сокровище на небесах (Лк. 11: 34-36; Лк. 16: 13, Мат. 12: 33-34)

19 ` Treasure not up to yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust disfigure, and where thieves break through and steal,

Не копите себе богатств на земле, где их портят моль и ржавчина и где воры могут обокрасть ваш дом.

20 b ut treasure up to yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth disfigure, and where thieves do not break through nor steal,

Копите лучше себе сокровища на небесах, где их не испортят ни моль, ни ржавчина и куда воры не смогут проникнуть и украсть.

21 f or where your treasure is, there will be also your heart.

Ведь где твое сокровище, там будет и твое сердце. Свет тела

22 ` The lamp of the body is the eye, if, therefore, thine eye may be perfect, all thy body shall be enlightened,

Глаз – это светильник всего тела. Если твой глаз ясен, то и все твое тело будет полно света.

23 b ut if thine eye may be evil, all thy body shall be dark; if, therefore, the light that in thee is darkness -- the darkness, how great!

Но если глаз у тебя дурной, то все твое тело будет полно тьмы. Если свет, который в тебе – тьма, то какова же тогда тьма!

24 ` None is able to serve two lords, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to the one, and despise the other; ye are not able to serve God and Mammon.

Никто не может служить двум господам. Он или одного будет ненавидеть, а другого любить, или же одному будет предан, а другим станет пренебрегать. Вы не можете одновременно служить и Богу, и богатству. Забота и переживания (Лк. 12: 22-31)

25 ` Because of this I say to you, be not anxious for your life, what ye may eat, and what ye may drink, nor for your body, what ye may put on. Is not the life more than the nourishment, and the body than the clothing?

Поэтому Я говорю вам: не тревожьтесь о своей жизни, что вам есть или что пить, или о своем теле, во что вам одеться. Разве жизнь не важнее пищи и тело не важнее одежды?

26 l ook to the fowls of the heaven, for they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into storehouses, and your heavenly Father doth nourish them; are not ye much better than they?

Посмотрите на птиц небесных: они не сеют, не жнут, не собирают в хранилища, однако ваш Небесный Отец питает их. Неужели вы менее ценны, чем птицы?

27 ` And who of you, being anxious, is able to add to his age one cubit?

Кто из вас, беспокоясь, может продлить себе жизнь хотя бы на один час?

28 a nd about clothing why are ye anxious? consider well the lilies of the field; how do they grow? they do not labour, nor do they spin;

Зачем вам беспокоиться об одежде? Подумайте о том, как растут полевые лилии. Они не трудятся и не прядут,

29 a nd I say to you, that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these.

но говорю вам, что даже Соломон во всей своей славе не одевался так, как любая из них.

30 ` And if the herb of the field, that to-day is, and to-morrow is cast to the furnace, God doth so clothe -- not much more you, O ye of little faith?

Но если Бог так одевает полевую траву, которая сегодня есть, а завтра будет брошена в печь, то не оденет ли Он и вас, маловеры?

31 t herefore ye may not be anxious, saying, What may we eat? or, What may we drink? or, What may we put round?

Поэтому не тревожьтесь и не спрашивайте: «Что нам есть?», или «Что нам пить?», или «Во что одеться?»

32 f or all these do the nations seek for, for your heavenly Father doth know that ye have need of all these;

Ведь язычники только обо всем этом и думают, но ваш Небесный Отец знает, что вы нуждаетесь во всем этом.

33 b ut seek ye first the reign of God and His righteousness, and all these shall be added to you.

Прежде всего ищите Царства Божьего и Его праведности, и это все вам тоже будет дано.

34 B e not therefore anxious for the morrow, for the morrow shall be anxious for its own things; sufficient for the day the evil of it.

Поэтому не тревожьтесь о завтрашнем дне; завтрашний день сам побеспокоится о себе. Для каждого дня достаточно своих тревог.
