1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Господь сказал Моисею:

2 ` Execute the vengeance of the sons of Israel against the Midianites -- afterwards thou art gathered unto thy people.'

– Отомсти мадианитянам за израильтян. Потом ты умрешь и отойдешь к народу твоему.

3 A nd Moses speaketh unto the people, saying, `Be ye armed some of you for the host, and they are against Midian, to put the vengeance of Jehovah on Midian;

Моисей сказал израильтянам: – Вооружите из числа ваших мужчин воинов, чтобы сразиться с мадианитянами и исполнить месть Господа над Мадианом.

4 a thousand for a tribe -- a thousand for a tribe, to all the tribes of Israel -- ye do send to the host.'

Отправьте сражаться по тысяче мужчин из каждого израильского рода.

5 A nd there are given out of the thousands of Israel a thousand for a tribe, twelve thousand armed ones of the host;

И выставил Израиль двенадцать тысяч воинов, вооруженных для битвы, по тысяче из каждого рода.

6 a nd Moses sendeth them, a thousand for a tribe, to the host, them and Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, to the host; and the holy vessels, and the trumpets of the shouting, in his hand.

Моисей послал их сражаться, по тысяче из каждого рода, вместе с Пинехасом, сыном священника Элеазара, который взял с собой утварь святилища и трубы для подачи сигналов.

7 A nd they war against Midian, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses, and slay every male;

Они сразились с мадианитянами, как повелел Моисею Господь, и перебили всех мужчин.

8 a nd the kings of Midian they have slain, besides their pierced ones, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian; and Balaam son of Beor, they have slain with the sword.

Среди прочих, они убили Евия, Рекема, Цура, Хура и Реву – пятерых царей Мадиана. Еще они убили мечом Валаама, сына Беора.

9 A nd the sons of Israel take captive the women of Midian, and their infants; and all their cattle, and all their substance, and all their wealth they have plundered;

Израильтяне взяли в плен мадианских женщин и детей и взяли в добычу все мадианские стада, отары и их имущество.

10 a nd all their cities, with their habitations, and all their towers, they have burnt with fire.

Они сожгли все города, где жили мадианитяне, и все их лагеря.

11 A nd they take all the spoil, and all the prey, among man and among beast;

Они забрали всю поживу и добычу – и людей, и скот,

12 a nd they bring in, unto Moses, and unto Eleazar the priest, and unto the company of the sons of Israel, the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto the camp, unto the plains of Moab, which by Jordan, Jericho.

и привели пленников, добычу и поживу к Моисею, к священнику Элеазару и народу израильскому в свой лагерь на равнинах Моава, у Иордана, напротив Иерихона.

13 A nd Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the company, go out to meet them, unto the outside of the camp,

Моисей, священник Элеазар и вожди народа вышли за лагерь им навстречу.

14 a nd Moses is wroth against the inspectors of the force, chiefs of the thousands, and chiefs of the hundreds, who are coming in from the host of the battle.

Моисей разгневался на военачальников – тысячников и сотников, которые вернулись с битвы.

15 A nd Moses saith unto them, `Have ye kept alive every female?

– Вы оставили женщин в живых? – спросил он их. –

16 l o, they -- they have been to the sons of Israel, through the word of Balaam, to cause a trespass against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and the plague is in the company of Jehovah.

Это они, по совету Валаама, заставили израильтян изменить Господу у Пеора, и народ Господа поразил мор.

17 ` And now, slay ye every male among the infants, yea, every woman known of man by the lying of a male ye have slain;

Итак, убейте всех мальчиков. Убейте всех женщин, которые спали с мужчинами,

18 a nd all the infants among the women, who have not known the lying of a male, ye have kept alive for yourselves.

но оставьте себе всех девочек, которые еще не спали с мужчиной.

19 ` And ye, encamp ye at the outside of the camp seven days -- any who hath slain a person, and any who hath come against a pierced one, ye cleanse yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day -- ye and your captives;

Пусть те из вас, кто убил или прикоснулся к убитому, семь дней остаются вне лагеря. На третий и на седьмой день очистите себя и пленников.

20 a nd every garment, and every skin vessel, and every work of goats', and every wooden vessel, ye yourselves cleanse.'

Очистите всю одежду и все, сделанное из кожи, козьей шерсти и дерева.

21 A nd Eleazar the priest saith unto the men of the host who go in to battle, `This the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses:

Священник Элеазар сказал воинам, которые были в битве: – Вот установление Закона, которое дал Моисею Господь:

22 o nly, the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,

золото, серебро, бронза, железо, олово, свинец

23 e very thing which may go into fire, ye cause to pass over through fire, and it hath been clean; only, with the water of separation it is cleansed, and all that may not go into fire, ye cause to pass over through water;

и все, что не горит в огне, нужно провести через огонь. После этого оно станет чистым, но, кроме того, эти предметы нужно очистить очистительной водой. Все, что горит в огне, нужно провести через воду.

24 a nd ye have washed your garments on the seventh day, and have been clean, and afterwards ye come in unto the camp.'

25 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Господь сказал Моисею:

26 ` Take up the sum of the prey of the captives, among man and among beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers of the company;

– Вместе со священником Элеазаром и главами семей народа пересчитай пленников и скот.

27 a nd thou hast halved the prey between those handling the battle who go out to the host and all the company;

Раздели добычу между воинами, которые были в битве, и остальным народом.

28 a nd thou hast raised a tribute to Jehovah from the men of war, who go out to the host, one body out of five hundred, of man, and of the herd, and of the asses, and of the flock;

Из доли воинов, которые были в битве, отдели долю Господу по одному из каждых пятисот пленников, быков и коров, ослов, овец и коз.

29 f rom their half ye do take, and thou hast given to Eleazar the priest -- the heave-offering of Jehovah.

Вычти эту долю из их половины и отдай священнику Элеазару, как долю Господа.

30 ` And from the sons of Israel's half thou dost take one possession out of fifty, of man, of the herd, of the asses, and of the flock, of all the cattle, and thou hast given them to the Levites keeping the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah.'

А из половины израильтян возьми по одному из каждых пятидесяти пленников, быков, коров, ослов, овец и коз – из любого скота, и отдай левитам, которым вверена скиния Господа.

31 A nd Moses doth -- Eleazar the priest also -- as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

Моисей со священником Элеазаром сделали, как повелел Моисею Господь.

32 A nd the prey, the residue of the spoil which the people of the host have spoiled, is of the flock six hundred thousand, and seventy thousand, and five thousand;

Всего воины взяли добычи: 675 000 овец,

33 a nd of the herd two and seventy thousand;

72 000 волов,

34 a nd of asses one and sixty thousand;

61 000 ослов

35 a nd of human beings -- of the women who have not known the lying of a male -- all the persons two and thirty thousand.

и 32 000 девушек, которые никогда не спали с мужчиной.

36 A nd the half -- the portion of those who go out into the host -- the number of the flock is three hundred thousand, and thirty thousand, and seven thousand and five hundred.

На долю участников битвы пришлось: 337 500 овец и коз,

37 A nd the tribute to Jehovah of the sheep is six hundred five and seventy;

долей для Господа из них стало 675 голов;

38 a nd the herd six and thirty thousand, and their tribute to Jehovah two and seventy;

36 000 волов, долей для Господа из них стало 72 головы;

39 a nd the asses thirty thousand and five hundred, and their tribute to Jehovah one and sixty;

30 500 ослов, долей для Господа из них стала 61 голова;

40 a nd the human beings sixteen thousand, and their tribute to Jehovah two and thirty persons.

16 000 пленников, долей для Господа из них стали 32 человека.

41 A nd Moses giveth the tribute -- Jehovah's heave-offering -- to Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

Моисей отдал эту долю священнику Элеазару как долю Господа, как повелел Моисею Господь.

42 A nd of the sons of Israel's half, which Moses halved from the men who war --

Половиной для израильтян, которую Моисей отделил от доли воинов,

43 a nd the company's half is, of the flock three hundred thousand, and thirty thousand, seven thousand and five hundred;

половиной для общества, было 337 500 овец и коз,

44 a nd of the herd six and thirty thousand;

36 000 волов,

45 a nd of asses thirty thousand and five hundred;

30 500 ослов

46 a nd of human beings sixteen thousand --

и 16 000 пленников.

47 M oses taketh from the sons of Israel's half the one possession from the fifty, of man and of beast, and giveth them to the Levites keeping the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

Из половины израильтян Моисей взял по одному из каждых пятидесяти пленников и животных, как повелел ему Господь, и отдал левитам, которым была вверена скиния Господа.

48 A nd the inspectors whom the thousands of the host hath, (heads of the thousands and heads of the hundreds), draw near unto Moses,

Начальники над войсковыми подразделениями – тысячники и сотники – пришли к Моисею

49 a nd they say unto Moses, `Thy servants have taken up the sum of the men of war who with us, and not a man of us hath been missed;

и сказали ему: – Твои слуги пересчитали воинов, которые у нас под началом, и ни один не пропал.

50 a nd we bring near Jehovah's offering, each that which he hath found, vessels of gold -- chain, and bracelet, seal-ring, -ring, and bead -- to make atonement for ourselves before Jehovah.'

И вот мы принесли в дар Господу то золото, которое каждый из нас добыл: повязки на руку, браслеты, перстни, серьги и ожерелья, чтобы для нас совершили отпущение перед Господом.

51 A nd Moses receiveth -- Eleazar the priest also -- the gold from them, every made vessel,

Моисей и священник Элеазар приняли у них это золото в виде украшений.

52 a nd all the gold of the heave-offering which they have lifted up to Jehovah is sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from heads of the thousands, and from heads of the hundreds;

Все золото от тысячников и сотников, которое Моисей и Элеазар принесли в дар Господу, весило шестнадцать тысяч семьсот пятьдесят шекелей.

53 ( the men of the host have spoiled each for himself);

(Каждый из воинов грабил для себя.)

54 a nd Moses taketh -- Eleazar the priest also -- the gold from the heads of the thousands and of the hundreds, and they bring it in unto the tent of meeting -- a memorial for the sons of Israel before Jehovah.

Моисей и священник Элеазар приняли золото у тысячников и сотников и внесли его в шатер собрания, чтобы оно было напоминанием об израильтянах перед Господом.
