1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Domnul a vorbit lui Moise, şi a zis:

2 ` Execute the vengeance of the sons of Israel against the Midianites -- afterwards thou art gathered unto thy people.'

Răsbună pe copiii lui Israel împotriva Madianiţilor, apoi vei fi adăugat la poporul tău.``

3 A nd Moses speaketh unto the people, saying, `Be ye armed some of you for the host, and they are against Midian, to put the vengeance of Jehovah on Midian;

Moise a vorbit poporului şi a zis:,,Înarmaţi dintre voi nişte bărbaţi pentru oştire, şi să meargă împotriva Madianului, ca să aducă la îndeplinire răzbunarea Domnului împotriva Madianului.

4 a thousand for a tribe -- a thousand for a tribe, to all the tribes of Israel -- ye do send to the host.'

Să trimeteţi la oaste cîte o mie de oameni de seminţie, din toate seminţiile lui Israel.``

5 A nd there are given out of the thousands of Israel a thousand for a tribe, twelve thousand armed ones of the host;

Au luat dintre miile lui Israel cîte o mie de oameni de seminţie, adică douăsprezece mii de oameni înarmaţi pentru oaste.

6 a nd Moses sendeth them, a thousand for a tribe, to the host, them and Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, to the host; and the holy vessels, and the trumpets of the shouting, in his hand.

Moise a trimes la oaste pe aceşti o mie de oameni de seminţie, şi a trimes cu ei pe fiul preotului Eleazar, Fineas, care ducea uneltele sfinte şi trîmbiţele răsunătoare.

7 A nd they war against Midian, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses, and slay every male;

Au înaintat împotriva Madianului, după porunca pe care o dăduse lui Moise Domnul; şi au omorît pe toţi bărbaţii.

8 a nd the kings of Midian they have slain, besides their pierced ones, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian; and Balaam son of Beor, they have slain with the sword.

Împreună cu toţi ceilalţi, au omorît şi pe împăraţii Madianului: Evi, Rechem, Ţur, Hur şi Reba, cei cinci împăraţi ai Madianului; au ucis cu sabia şi pe Balaam, fiul lui Beor.

9 A nd the sons of Israel take captive the women of Midian, and their infants; and all their cattle, and all their substance, and all their wealth they have plundered;

Copiii lui Israel au luat prinse pe femeile Madianiţilor cu pruncii lor, şi le-au jăfuit toate vitele, toate turmele şi toate bogăţiile.

10 a nd all their cities, with their habitations, and all their towers, they have burnt with fire.

Le-au ars toate cetăţile pe cari le locuiau şi toate ocoalele lor.

11 A nd they take all the spoil, and all the prey, among man and among beast;

Au luat toată prada şi toate jafurile de oameni şi dobitoace;

12 a nd they bring in, unto Moses, and unto Eleazar the priest, and unto the company of the sons of Israel, the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto the camp, unto the plains of Moab, which by Jordan, Jericho.

şi pe cei prinşi, prada şi jafurile, le-au adus lui Moise, preotului Eleazar, şi adunării copiilor lui Israel, cari erau tăbărîţi în cîmpia Moabului, lîngă Iordan, în faţa Ierihonului.

13 A nd Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the company, go out to meet them, unto the outside of the camp,

Moise, preotul Eleazar, şi toţi mai marii adunării, le-au ieşit înainte, afară din tabără.

14 a nd Moses is wroth against the inspectors of the force, chiefs of the thousands, and chiefs of the hundreds, who are coming in from the host of the battle.

Şi Moise s'a mîniat pe căpeteniile oştirii, pe căpeteniile peste o mie şi pe căpeteniile peste o sută, cari se întorceau dela război.

15 A nd Moses saith unto them, `Have ye kept alive every female?

El le -a zis:,, Cum? Aţi lăsat cu viaţă pe toate femeile?

16 l o, they -- they have been to the sons of Israel, through the word of Balaam, to cause a trespass against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and the plague is in the company of Jehovah.

Iată, ele sînt acelea cari, după cuvîntul lui Balaam, au tîrît pe copiii lui Israel să păcătuiască împotriva Domnului, în fapta lui Peor; şi atunci a izbucnit urgia în adunarea Domnului.

17 ` And now, slay ye every male among the infants, yea, every woman known of man by the lying of a male ye have slain;

Acum, dar, omorîţi pe orice prunc de parte bărbătească, şi omorîţi pe orice femeie care a cunoscut pe un bărbat culcîndu-se cu el;

18 a nd all the infants among the women, who have not known the lying of a male, ye have kept alive for yourselves.

dar lăsaţi cu viaţă pentru voi toţi pruncii de parte femeiască şi pe toate fetele cari n'au cunoscut împreunarea cu un bărbat.

19 ` And ye, encamp ye at the outside of the camp seven days -- any who hath slain a person, and any who hath come against a pierced one, ye cleanse yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day -- ye and your captives;

Iar voi, tăbărîţi şapte zile afară din tabără; toţi aceia dintre voi cari au ucis pe cineva, şi toţi cei ce s'au atins de vre un mort, să se cureţe a treia şi a şaptea zi, ei şi cei prinşi de voi.

20 a nd every garment, and every skin vessel, and every work of goats', and every wooden vessel, ye yourselves cleanse.'

Să curăţiţi deasemenea orice haină, orice lucru de piele, orice lucru de păr de capră şi orice unealtă de lemn.``

21 A nd Eleazar the priest saith unto the men of the host who go in to battle, `This the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses:

Preotul Eleazar a zis ostaşilor, cari se duseseră la război:,, Iată ce este poruncit prin legea pe care a dat -o lui Moise Domnul.

22 o nly, the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,

Aurul, argintul, arama, ferul, cositorul şi plumbul,

23 e very thing which may go into fire, ye cause to pass over through fire, and it hath been clean; only, with the water of separation it is cleansed, and all that may not go into fire, ye cause to pass over through water;

orice lucru care poate suferi focul, să -l treceţi prin foc ca să se curăţească. Dar tot ce nu poate suferi focul, să fie curăţit cu apa de curăţire; să -l treceţi prin apă.

24 a nd ye have washed your garments on the seventh day, and have been clean, and afterwards ye come in unto the camp.'

Să vă spălaţi hainele în ziua a şaptea şi veţi fi curaţi; apoi, veţi putea intra în tabără.``

25 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Domnul a zis lui Moise:

26 ` Take up the sum of the prey of the captives, among man and among beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers of the company;

Fă, împreună cu preotul Eleazar şi cu căpeteniile caselor adunării, socoteala prăzii luate, fie oameni fie dobitoace.

27 a nd thou hast halved the prey between those handling the battle who go out to the host and all the company;

Împarte prada între luptătorii cari s'au dus la oaste şi între toată adunarea.

28 a nd thou hast raised a tribute to Jehovah from the men of war, who go out to the host, one body out of five hundred, of man, and of the herd, and of the asses, and of the flock;

Să iei întîi din partea ostaşilor cari s'au dus la oaste o dare pentru Domnul, şi anume: unul din cinci sute, atît din oameni cît şi din boi, măgari şi oi.

29 f rom their half ye do take, and thou hast given to Eleazar the priest -- the heave-offering of Jehovah.

Să le luaţi din jumătatea cuvenită lor, şi să le dai preotului Eleazar ca un dar ridicat pentru Domnul.

30 ` And from the sons of Israel's half thou dost take one possession out of fifty, of man, of the herd, of the asses, and of the flock, of all the cattle, and thou hast given them to the Levites keeping the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah.'

Şi din jumătatea care se cuvine copiiilor lui Israel să iei unul din cincizeci, atît din oameni cît şi din boi, măgari şi oi, din orice dobitoc; şi să le dai Leviţilor, cari păzesc cortul Domnului.``

31 A nd Moses doth -- Eleazar the priest also -- as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

Moise şi preotul Eleazar au făcut ce poruncise lui Moise Domnul.

32 A nd the prey, the residue of the spoil which the people of the host have spoiled, is of the flock six hundred thousand, and seventy thousand, and five thousand;

Prada de război, rămasă din jaful celor ce făcuseră parte din oaste, era de şase sute şaptezeci şi cinci de mii de oi,

33 a nd of the herd two and seventy thousand;

şaptezeci şi două de mii de boi,

34 a nd of asses one and sixty thousand;

şasezeci şi una de mii de măgari,

35 a nd of human beings -- of the women who have not known the lying of a male -- all the persons two and thirty thousand.

şi treizeci şi două de mii de suflete, adică femei cari nu cunoscuseră împreunarea cu un bărbat.

36 A nd the half -- the portion of those who go out into the host -- the number of the flock is three hundred thousand, and thirty thousand, and seven thousand and five hundred.

Jumătatea care alcătuia partea celor ce se duseseră la oaste, a fost de trei sute treizeci şi şapte de mii cinci sute de oi,

37 A nd the tribute to Jehovah of the sheep is six hundred five and seventy;

din cari şase sute şaptezeci şi cinci au fost luaţi ca dare Domnului;

38 a nd the herd six and thirty thousand, and their tribute to Jehovah two and seventy;

treizeci şi şase de mii de boi, din cari şaptezeci şi doi luaţi ca dare Domnului;

39 a nd the asses thirty thousand and five hundred, and their tribute to Jehovah one and sixty;

treizeci de mii cinci sute de măgari, din cari şasezeci şi unu luaţi ca dare Domnului;

40 a nd the human beings sixteen thousand, and their tribute to Jehovah two and thirty persons.

şi şasesprezece mii de inşi, din cari treizeci şi doi luaţi ca dare Domnului.

41 A nd Moses giveth the tribute -- Jehovah's heave-offering -- to Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

Moise a dat preotului Eleazar darea luată ca dar ridicat pentru Domnul, după cum îi poruncise Domnul.

42 A nd of the sons of Israel's half, which Moses halved from the men who war --

Jumătatea cuvenită copiilor lui Israel, pe care a despărţit -o Moise de a bărbaţilor cari merseseră la oaste,

43 a nd the company's half is, of the flock three hundred thousand, and thirty thousand, seven thousand and five hundred;

şi care era partea adunării, a fost de trei sute treizeci şi şapte de mii cinci sute de oi,

44 a nd of the herd six and thirty thousand;

treizeci şi şase de mii de boi,

45 a nd of asses thirty thousand and five hundred;

treizeci de mii cinci sute de măgari,

46 a nd of human beings sixteen thousand --

şi şasesprezece mii de suflete.

47 M oses taketh from the sons of Israel's half the one possession from the fifty, of man and of beast, and giveth them to the Levites keeping the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

Din această jumătate care se cuvenea copiilor lui Israel, Moise a luat unul din cincizeci, atît din oameni cît şi din dobitoace; şi le -a dat Leviţilor, cari păzesc cortul Domnului, după cum îi poruncise Domnul.

48 A nd the inspectors whom the thousands of the host hath, (heads of the thousands and heads of the hundreds), draw near unto Moses,

Căpeteniile oştirii, căpeteniile peste o mie şi căpeteniile peste o sută, s'au apropiat de Moise,

49 a nd they say unto Moses, `Thy servants have taken up the sum of the men of war who with us, and not a man of us hath been missed;

şi i-au zis:,, Robii tăi au făcut socoteala ostaşilor cari erau subt poruncile noastre, şi nu lipseşte niciun om dintre noi.

50 a nd we bring near Jehovah's offering, each that which he hath found, vessels of gold -- chain, and bracelet, seal-ring, -ring, and bead -- to make atonement for ourselves before Jehovah.'

Noi aducem deci, ca dar Domnului, fiecare ce a găsit ca scule de aur, şi anume: lănţişoare, brăţări, inele, cercei şi salbe, ca să se facă ispăşire pentru sufletele noastre înaintea Domnului.``

51 A nd Moses receiveth -- Eleazar the priest also -- the gold from them, every made vessel,

Moise şi preotul Eleazar au primit de la ei toate aceste scule lucrate în aur.

52 a nd all the gold of the heave-offering which they have lifted up to Jehovah is sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from heads of the thousands, and from heads of the hundreds;

Tot aurul, pe care l-au adus Domnului căpeteniile peste o mie şi căpeteniile peste o sută, ca dar ridicat, cîntărea şasesprezece mii şapte sute cincizeci de sicli.

53 ( the men of the host have spoiled each for himself);

Oamenii din oaste au păstrat fiecare pentru sine prada pe care o făcuse.

54 a nd Moses taketh -- Eleazar the priest also -- the gold from the heads of the thousands and of the hundreds, and they bring it in unto the tent of meeting -- a memorial for the sons of Israel before Jehovah.

Moise şi preotul Eleazar au luat aurul de la căpeteniile peste o mie şi dela căpeteniile peste o sută, şi l-au adus în cortul întîlnirii, ca aducere aminte pentru copiii lui Israel înaintea Domnului.
