1 T he children! obey your parents in the Lord, for this is righteous;

2 h onour thy father and mother,

«Почитай отца и мать» – это первое повеление с обещанием:

3 w hich is the first command with a promise, `That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live a long time upon the land.'

«Чтобы тебе жить благополучно и долго на земле».

4 A nd the fathers! provoke not your children, but nourish them in the instruction and admonition of the Lord.

Отцы, не раздражайте ваших детей, но воспитывайте их в учении и наставлении Господа. Взаимоотношения рабов и их хозяев

5 T he servants! obey the masters according to the flesh with fear and trembling, in the simplicity of your heart, as to the Christ;

Рабы, подчиняйтесь вашим земным хозяевам с почтением и страхом, от чистого сердца, как вы подчинялись бы и Христу.

6 n ot with eye-service as men-pleasers, but as servants of the Christ, doing the will of God out of soul,

Делайте это не напоказ, только ради того, чтобы заслужить их доброе отношение, но делайте это как рабы Христа, от души исполняющие волю Бога.

7 w ith good-will serving, as to the Lord, and not to men,

Служите со старанием, как вы служили бы Господу, а не людям.

8 h aving known that whatever good thing each one may do, this he shall receive from the Lord, whether servant or freeman.

Знайте, что Господь вознаградит каждое доброе дело, кто бы его ни сделал, раб или свободный.

9 A nd the masters! the same things do ye unto them, letting threatening alone, having known that also your Master is in the heavens, and acceptance of persons is not with him.

И вы, хозяева, так же относитесь к своим рабам. Перестаньте им угрожать. Помните, что на небесах есть Господь – хозяин над ними и над вами, и Он никому не отдает предпочтения. Духовное оружие и доспехи Бога

10 A s to the rest, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might;

И в заключение хочу сказать: укрепляйтесь в Господе Его мощью и силой.

11 p ut on the whole armour of God, for your being able to stand against the wiles of the devil,

Наденьте на себя все вооружение, которое вам дал Бог, чтобы вы могли устоять перед происками дьявола.

12 b ecause we have not the wrestling with blood and flesh, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, with the spiritual things of the evil in the heavenly places;

Потому что мы боремся не против людей из плоти и крови, а против начальств, против властей, против владык этого мира тьмы и против духов зла на небесах.

13 b ecause of this take ye up the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the day of the evil, and all things having done -- to stand.

Поэтому возьмите все Божье вооружение, чтобы вы смогли противостать им в день, когда зло пойдет в наступление, и, все преодолев, выстоять.

14 S tand, therefore, having your loins girt about in truth, and having put on the breastplate of the righteousness,

Встаньте твердо, подвязавшись поясом истины, надев броню праведности

15 a nd having the feet shod in the preparation of the good-news of the peace;

и обув ноги в готовность возвещать Радостную Весть о мире.

16 a bove all, having taken up the shield of the faith, in which ye shall be able all the fiery darts of the evil one to quench,

А кроме всего возьмите щит веры, которым вы сможете погасить горящие стрелы дьявола.

17 a nd the helmet of the salvation receive, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the saying of God,

Наденьте шлем спасения и возьмите меч от Духа – слово Божье.

18 t hrough all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the Spirit, and in regard to this same, watching in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints --

Молитесь всякими молитвами и прошениями во всякое время в Духе, для этого бодрствуйте и будьте постоянны в молитве за всех святых.

19 a nd in behalf of me, that to me may be given a word in the opening of my mouth, in freedom, to make known the secret of the good news,

Молитесь и обо мне, чтобы, когда я говорю, мне были даны нужные слова и чтобы я мог бесстрашно объяснять тайну Радостной Вести,

20 f or which I am an ambassador in a chain, that in it I may speak freely -- as it behoveth me to speak.

послом которой я являюсь, даже находясь в этих цепях. Молитесь о том, чтобы я смело возвещал ее, как и должно. Заключительные приветствия

21 A nd that ye may know -- ye also -- the things concerning me -- what I do, all things make known to you shall Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful ministrant in the Lord,

А чтобы и вы были в курсе моих дел, вам все расскажет Тихик, наш дорогой брат и верный служитель Господа.

22 w hom I did send unto you for this very thing, that ye might know the things concerning us, and that he might comfort your hearts.

Для этого я и посылаю его к вам, чтобы вы получили вести о нас и ободрились.

23 P eace to the brethren, and love, with faith, from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ!

Пусть у вас, братья, будет мир, любовь и вера от Бога Отца и Господа Иисуса Христа.

24 T he grace with all those loving our Lord Jesus Christ -- undecayingly! Amen.

Благодать со всеми, кто бесконечно любит нашего Господа Иисуса Христа.
