1 ` And I, in the first year of Darius the Mede, my standing for a strengthener, and for a stronghold to him;

В первый год власти Дария Мидянина я стал ему поддержкой и защитой.) Цари севера и юга

2 a nd, now, truth I declare to thee, Lo, yet three kings are standing for Persia, and the fourth doth become far richer than all, and according to his strength by his riches he stirreth up the whole, with the kingdom of Javan.

– Итак, я скажу тебе истину: в Персии появятся еще три царя, а потом – четвертый, который будет гораздо богаче всех прочих. Получив власть через богатство, он поднимет всех против Греческого царства.

3 A nd a mighty king hath stood, and he hath ruled a great dominion, and hath done according to his will;

Тогда появится могучий царь, который будет править с великой властью и делать, что пожелает.

4 a nd according to his standing is his kingdom broken, and divided to the four winds of the heavens, and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion that he ruled, for his kingdom is plucked up -- and for others apart from these.

Но когда он еще будет набирать силу, его империя будет разрушена и разделена по четырем сторонам света. Она не перейдет к его потомкам и не будет управляться властью, подобной его власти, потому что она будет с корнем вырвана для других. Противостояние Селевкидов (север) и Птолемеев (юг)

5 ` And a king of the south -- even of his princes -- doth become strong, and doth prevail against him, and hath ruled; a great dominion his dominion.

– Южный царь станет очень силен, но один из его военачальников станет сильнее его и будет править своим царством с великой силой.

6 ` And at the end of years they do join themselves together, and a daughter of the king of the south doth come in unto the king of the north to do upright things; and she doth not retain the power of the arm; and he doth not stand, nor his arm; and she is given up, she, and those bringing her in, and her child, and he who is strengthening her in times.

Через несколько лет они станут союзниками. Дочь южного царя за северного царя, чтобы скрепить союз, но она не удержит власти, и его потомство не продолжится. Она будет предана вместе со свитой, ребенком и тем, кто ее поддерживал.

7 ` And hath stood up from a branch of her roots, his station, and he cometh in unto the bulwark, yea, he cometh into a stronghold of the king of the south, and hath wrought against them, and hath done mightily;

В те дни ветвь от ее корня явится, чтобы занять ее место. Он пойдет против войска северного царя и войдет в его крепость; он будет воевать с ними и одержит победу.

8 a nd also their gods, with their princes, with their desirable vessels of silver and gold, into captivity he bringeth Egypt; and he doth stand more years than the king of the north.

Он даже захватит их богов, изваяния из металла и дорогие вещи из серебра и золота и увезет их в Египет. На несколько лет он оставит северного царя в покое.

9 ` And the king of the south hath come into the kingdom, and turned back unto his own land;

Тогда северный царь вторгнется в державу южного царя, но возвратится в свою страну.

10 a nd his sons stir themselves up, and have gathered a multitude of great forces, and he hath certainly come in, and overflowed, and passed through, and he turneth back, and they stir themselves up unto his stronghold.

Его сыновья станут готовиться к войне и собирать огромное войско, которое помчится, подобно наводнению, и принесет битву к самой его крепости.

11 A nd the king of the south doth become embittered, and hath gone forth and fought with him, with the king of the north, and hath caused a great multitude to stand, and the multitude hath been given into his hand,

Тогда южный царь в гневе выступит и сразится с северным царем, набравшим большое войско, которое, однако, будет разбито.

12 a nd he hath carried away the multitude, his heart is high, and he hath caused myriads to fall, and he doth not become strong.

Когда войско будет уведено, южный царь возгордится и убьет многие тысячи, но не достигнет победы.

13 ` And the king of the north hath turned back, and hath caused a multitude to stand, greater than the first, and at the end of the times a second time he doth certainly come in with a great force, and with much substance;

Северный царь соберет другое войско, больше первого, и через несколько лет выступит с огромным войском, полностью снаряженным.

14 a nd in those times many do stand up against the king of the south, and sons of the destroyers of thy people do lift themselves up to establish the vision -- and they have stumbled.

В те времена многие восстанут против южного царя. Неистовые из твоего собственного народа восстанут во исполнение видения, но безуспешно.

15 ` And the king of the north cometh in, and poureth out a mount, and hath captured fenced cities; and the arms of the south do not stand, nor the people of his choice, yea, there is no power to stand.

Тогда северный царь придет, насыплет осадный вал и возьмет укрепленный город. Силы юга не смогут противиться; даже у лучших их воинов не будет силы, чтобы устоять.

16 A nd he who is coming unto him doth according to his will, and there is none standing before him; and he standeth in the desirable land, and wholly in his hand.

Завоеватель будет действовать, как пожелает; никто не сможет ему противостоять. Он укрепится в Прекрасной Стране, и вся она будет в его власти.

17 A nd he setteth his face to go in with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; and he hath wrought, and the daughter of women he giveth to him, to corrupt her; and she doth not stand, nor is for him.

Он решит войти с силами всего царства, изложить условия мира и исполнить их. Чтобы погубить царство своего врага, он отдаст ему в жены свою дочь, но этот замысел не исполнится, и это не принесет ему пользы.

18 ` And he turneth back his face to the isles, and hath captured many; and a prince hath caused his reproach of himself to cease; without his reproach he turneth back to him.

Тогда он обратит взгляд на прибрежные области и захватит многие из них, но некий военачальник положит конец его дерзости; истинно, он обратит его дерзость против него же.

19 A nd he turneth back his face to the strongholds of his land, and hath stumbled and fallen, and is not found.

Тогда он повернет к крепостям своей страны, но споткнется, падет, и его не станет.

20 ` And stood up on his station hath causing an exactor to pass over the honour of the kingdom, and in a few days he is destroyed, and not in anger, nor in battle.

Его преемник пошлет сборщика налогов, чтобы поддержать величие царства. Но пройдет немного времени и он погибнет – не от гнева и не в битве. Антиох IV Епифан – враг народа Божьего

21 ` And stood up on his station hath a despicable one, and they have not given unto him the honour of the kingdom, and he hath come in quietly, and hath strengthened the kingdom by flatteries.

– На его место явится презренный человек, не облеченный царским величием. Он придет без предупреждения и овладеет царством через козни.

22 A nd the arms of the flood are overflowed from before him, and are broken; and also the leader of the covenant.

Перед ним будет сметено неисчислимое войско; оно будет погублено вместе с вождем завета.

23 A nd after they join themselves unto him, he worketh deceit, and hath increased, and hath been strong by a few of the nation.

Заключив с ним союз, он станет действовать обманом и лишь с немногими людьми придет к власти.

24 P eaceably even into the fertile places of the province He cometh, and he hath done that which his fathers did not, nor his fathers' fathers; prey, and spoil, and substance, to them he scattereth, and against fenced places he deviseth his devices, even for a time.

Он без предупреждения вторгнется в богатейшие части провинции и сделает то, чего не делали ни его отцы, ни праотцы. Он распределит награбленное, добычу и богатство среди своих сторонников. Он будет замышлять, как ниспровергнуть крепости, но лишь до времени.

25 ` And he stirreth up his power and his heart against the king of the south with a great force, and the king of the south stirreth himself up to battle with a very great and mighty force, and standeth not, for they devise devices against him,

С большим войском он соберет свои силы и смело выступит против южного царя. Южный царь будет вести войну с большим и очень сильным войском, но не сможет устоять из-за заговоров, составленных против него.

26 a nd those eating his portion of food destroy him, and his force overfloweth, and fallen have many wounded.

Даже те, кто едят царскую пищу, станут пытаться его погубить; его войско будет сметено, и многие падут в сражении.

27 ` And both of the kings' hearts to do evil, and at one table they speak lies, and it doth not prosper, for yet the end at a time appointed.

Оба царя, держа в сердцах зло, сядут за один стол и будут лгать друг другу, но успеха не будет, потому что конец придет лишь в определенное время.

28 A nd he turneth back his land with great substance, and his heart against the holy covenant, and he hath wrought, and turned back to his land.

Северный царь вернется в свою страну с великим богатством, но сердце его будет настроено против святого завета. Он будет действовать против него, а после вернется в свою страну.

29 A t the appointed time he turneth back, and hath come against the south, and it is not as the former, and as the latter.

В определенное время он снова вторгнется в земли юга, но на этот раз исход будет иным, нежели прежде.

30 A nd ships of Chittim have come in against him, and he hath been pained, and hath turned back, and hath been insolent toward the holy covenant, and hath wrought, and turned back, and he understandeth concerning those forsaking the holy covenant.

Ему преградят путь корабли с западных побережий, и он падет духом. Он повернет назад и изольет свою ярость на святой завет. Он возвратится и будет благосклонен к тем, кто отступил от святого завета.

31 A nd strong ones out of him stand up, and have polluted the sanctuary, the stronghold, and have turned aside the continual, and appointed the desolating abomination.

Посланные им воины займут и осквернят храм и крепость. Они отменят ежедневную жертву и поставят опустошающую мерзость.

32 A nd those acting wickedly the covenant, he defileth by flatteries; and the people knowing their God are strong, and have wrought.

Лестью он соблазнит тех, кто нарушил завет, но люди, которые знают своего Бога, будут ему твердо противостоять.

33 A nd the teachers of the people give understanding to many; and they have stumbled by sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil -- days.

Мудрые среди народа наставят многих, хотя некоторое время их будут губить мечом, сжигать, брать в плен и грабить.

34 A nd in their stumbling, they are helped -- a little help, and joined to them have been many with flatteries.

При этом они получат небольшую помощь, но многие присоединятся к ним неискренне.

35 A nd some of the teachers do stumble for refining by them, and for purifying, and for making white -- till the end of the time, for yet for a time appointed.

Некоторые из мудрых споткнутся, чтобы пройти испытание, очиститься и убелиться, прежде чем наступит конец, потому что до его прихода еще будет оставаться определенное время. Надменный царь – враг Бога

36 ` And the king hath done according to his will, and exalteth himself, and magnifieth himself against every god, and against the God of gods he speaketh wonderful things, and hath prospered till the indignation hath been completed, for that which is determined hath been done.

– Царь будет делать, что пожелает. Он превознесет себя выше всякого бога и будет говорить неслыханные вещи против Бога богов. Он будет преуспевать, пока не завершатся времена гнева, потому что должно произойти предопределенное.

37 A nd unto the God of his fathers he doth not attend, nor to the desire of women, yea, to any god he doth not attend, for against all he magnifieth himself.

Он не будет признавать ни богов своих отцов, ни того, который желанен женщинам; он не будет признавать никакого бога, но вознесет над всеми ими самого себя.

38 A nd to the god of strongholds, on his station, he giveth honour; yea, to a god whom his fathers knew not he giveth honour, with gold, and with silver, and with precious stone, and with desirable things.

Вместо них он будет чтить бога крепостей; бога, неизвестного его отцам, он будет чествовать золотом и серебром, драгоценными камнями и дорогими дарами.

39 A nd he hath dealt in the fortresses of the strongholds with a strange god whom he hath acknowledged; he multiplieth honour, and hath caused them to rule over many, and the ground he apportioneth at a price.

Он нападет на самые сильные крепости с помощью чужого бога. Он умножит богатства тех, кто признает его, и назначит их правителями над многими, и будет делить землю за плату.

40 ` And at the time of the end, push himself forward with him doth a king of the south, and storm against him doth a king of the north, with chariot, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he hath come in to the lands, and hath overflowed, and passed over,

В конце времен на него нападет южный царь. Но северный царь обрушится на него как ураган, с колесницами, всадниками и многочисленными кораблями. Он вторгнется во многие страны и промчится через них, подобно наводнению.

41 a nd hath come into the desirable land, and many do stumble, and these escape from his hand: Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the sons of Ammon.

Он вторгнется и в Прекрасную страну. Многие страны падут, но Эдом, Моав и вожди Аммона будут избавлены от его руки.

42 ` And he sendeth forth his hand upon the lands, and the land of Egypt is not for an escape;

Он прострет свою власть на многие страны; не спасется и Египет.

43 a nd he hath ruled over treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the desirable things of Egypt, and Lubim and Cushim at his steps.

Он овладеет золотыми и серебряными сокровищами и всеми богатствами Египта, и покоренные ливийцы с кушитами пойдут за ним.

44 ` And reports trouble him out of the east and out of the north, and he hath gone forth in great fury to destroy, and to devote many to destruction;

Но известия с востока и севера встревожат его, и он выйдет в страшном гневе истреблять и губить многих.

45 a nd he planteth the tents of his palace between the seas and the holy desirable mountain, and hath come unto his end, and there is no helper to him.

Он разобьет свои царские шатры между морем и прекрасной святой горой. Но он придет к своему концу, и никто ему не поможет.
