1 I n that day lay a charge doth Jehovah, With his sword -- the sharp, and the great, and the strong, On leviathan -- a fleeing serpent, And on leviathan -- a crooked serpent, And He hath slain the dragon that in the sea.

В тот день Господь покарает Своим мечом, Своим беспощадным, великим и крепким мечом, Левиафана, змея скользящего, Левиафана, змея извивающегося; Он убьет это морское чудовище.

2 I n that day, `A desirable vineyard,' respond ye to her,

В тот день пойте о плодородном винограднике:

3 I , Jehovah, am its keeper, every moment I water it, Lest any lay a charge against it, Night and day I keep it!

– Я, Господь, его сторожу; каждый миг его поливаю. День и ночь его охраняю, чтобы никто его не повредил.

4 F ury is not in Me; Who giveth Me a brier -- a thorn in battle? I step into it, I burn it at once.

Я не гневаюсь. Если бы встали против Меня терновник с колючками, Я бы войною на них пошел, предал бы их огню.

5 O r -- he doth take hold on My strength, He doth make peace with Me, Peace he doth make with Me.

Или же пусть придут ко Мне за защитой, пусть заключат со Мной мир, да, пусть заключат со Мной мир.

6 T hose coming in He causeth to take root, Jacob doth blossom, and flourished hath Israel, And they have filled the face of the world increase.

В грядущие дни пустит корни Иаков, даст побег и расцветет Израиль, и наполнит весь мир плодами.

7 A s the smiting of his smiter hath He smitten him? As the slaying of his slain doth He slay?

Разве так поражал их Господь, как поразил Он тех, кто их поражал? Разве так убивал их, как были убиты их убийцы?

8 I n measure, in sending it forth, thou strivest with it, He hath taken away by His sharp wind, In the day of an east wind,

Войной и пленом Ты боролся с ними – Твоим свирепым дыханием Ты изгнал их, как в день, когда дует свирепый восточный ветер.

9 T herefore by this is the iniquity of Jacob covered, And this all the fruit -- To take away his sin, in His setting all the stones of an altar, As chalkstones beaten in pieces, They rise not -- shrines and images.

И вот чем снимется вина Иакова, вот что будет полным плодом прощения его греха: когда уподобит он все камни жертвенников кускам известняка, разбитым вдребезги, и не останется ни столбов Ашеры, ни жертвенников, на которых возжигают благовония.

10 F or the fenced city alone, A habitation cast out and forsaken as a wilderness, There doth the calf delight, And there it lieth down, And hath consumed its branches.

Опустеет укрепленный город, брошено селение, оставлено, как пустыня. Там пасутся телята, ложатся и объедают ветви.

11 I n the withering of its branch it is broken off, Women are coming in setting it on fire, For it not a people of understanding, Therefore pity it not doth its Maker, And its Former doth not favour it.

Когда сучья засохнут, их отломят, придут женщины и сожгут их. Потому что этот народ безрассуден, их Создатель их не помилует, их Творец над ними не сжалится.

12 A nd it hath come to pass, in that day, Beat out doth Jehovah from the branch of the river, Unto the stream of Egypt, And ye are gathered one by one, O sons of Israel.

В тот день Господь будет молотить от реки Евфрата до речки на границе Египта, и вы, израильтяне, будете собраны по одному.

13 A nd it hath come to pass, in that day, It is blown with a great trumpet, And come in have those perishing in the land of Asshur, And those cast out in the land of Egypt, And have bowed themselves to Jehovah, In the holy mount -- in Jerusalem!

В тот день затрубит великий рог, и те, кто пропадал в Ассирии, и те, кто был изгнан в Египет, придут и поклонятся Господу на святой горе в Иерусалиме.
