1 A nd it cometh to pass after this, that David smiteth the Philistines, and humbleth them, and taketh Gath and its small towns out of the hand of the Philistines;

2 a nd he smiteth Moab, and the Moabites are servants to David, bringing a present.

Еще Давид разбил моавитян. Так моавитяне покорились Давиду и стали платить ему дань.

3 A nd David smiteth Hadarezer king of Zobah, at Hamath, in his going to establish his power by the river Phrat,

Еще Давид разбил Ададезера, царя Цовы, нанося ему поражение до самого города Хамата, когда тот шел утвердить свою власть у реки Евфрата.

4 a nd David captureth from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David destroyeth utterly all the chariots, and leaveth of them a hundred chariots.

Давид захватил тысячу его колесниц, семь тысяч колесничих и двадцать тысяч пеших воинов. Он подрезал сухожилия всем колесничным коням, оставив из них лишь сотню.

5 A nd Aram of Damascus cometh in to give help to Hadarezer king of Zobah, and David smiteth in Aram twenty and two thousand men,

Когда на помощь Ададезеру, царю Цовы, пришли арамеи Дамаска, Давид поразил из них двадцать две тысячи человек.

6 a nd David putteth in Aram of Damascus, and the Aramaeans are to David for servants, bearing a present, and Jehovah giveth salvation to David whithersoever he hath gone.

Он разместил войска в царстве дамасских арамеев, и арамеи стали у него рабами, платящими дань. Господь давал Давиду победу, куда бы он ни ходил.

7 A nd David taketh the shields of gold that have been on the servants of Hadarezer, and bringeth them in to Jerusalem;

Давид взял золотые щиты, которые принадлежали приближенным Ададезера, и принес их в Иерусалим.

8 a nd from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, hath David taken very much brass; with it hath Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

Из Теваха и Куна, городов, принадлежавших Ададезеру, Давид взял очень много бронзы, из которой Соломон сделал бронзовое море, столбы и разную бронзовую утварь для дома Господа.

9 A nd Tou king of Hamath heareth that David hath smitten the whole force of Hadarezer king of Zobah,

Когда Фой, царь Хамата, услышал, что Давид разбил все войско Ададезера, царя Цовы,

10 a nd he sendeth Hadoram his son unto king David, to ask of him of peace, and to bless him (because that he hath fought against Hadarezer, and smiteth him, for a man of wars with Tou had Hadarezer been,) and all kinds of vessels, of gold, and silver, and brass;

он послал к царю Давиду своего сына Гадорама, чтобы приветствовать его и поздравить с победой над Ададезером, с которым тот вел войну. Гадорам привез разные изделия, сделанные из золота, серебра и бронзы.

11 a lso them hath king David sanctified to Jehovah with the silver and the gold that he hath taken from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

Царь Давид посвятил и эти изделия Господу, вместе с серебром и золотом, которые он отнял у всех этих народов – Эдома и Моава, аммонитян, филистимлян и Амалика.

12 A nd Abishai son of Zeruiah hath smitten Edom in the valley of salt -- eighteen thousand,

Авишай, сын Саруи, перебил восемнадцать тысяч эдомитян в Соляной долине.

13 a nd he putteth in Edom garrisons, and all the Edomites are servants to David; and Jehovah saveth David whithersoever he hath gone.

Он разместил свои войска в Эдоме, и все эдомитяне стали его рабами. Господь давал Давиду победу, куда бы тот ни ходил. Приближенные Давида (2 Цар. 8: 15-18; 20: 23-26)

14 A nd David reigneth over all Israel, and he is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,

Давид правил всем Израилем, верша суд и правду для всего своего народа.

15 a nd Joab son of Zeruiah over the host, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud remembrancer,

Иоав, сын Саруи, был начальником войска; Иосафат, сын Ахилуда, был летописцем;

16 a nd Zadok son of Ahitub, and Abimelech son of Abiathar, priests, and Shavsha scribe,

Цадок, сын Ахитува, и Ахимелех, сын Авиатара, были священниками; Шавша был писарем,

17 a nd Benaiah son of Jehoiada over the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the elder sons of David at the hand of the king.

Ванея, сын Иодая, командовал керетитами и пелетитами, а сыновья Давида были первыми приближенными при царе.
