1 A nd it cometh to pass after this, that David smiteth the Philistines, and humbleth them, and taketh Gath and its small towns out of the hand of the Philistines;

2 a nd he smiteth Moab, and the Moabites are servants to David, bringing a present.

3 A nd David smiteth Hadarezer king of Zobah, at Hamath, in his going to establish his power by the river Phrat,

David derrotó además a Hadad Ezer, rey de Soba, cerca de Hamat, cuando éste iba a establecer su dominio en el Río Eufrates.

4 a nd David captureth from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David destroyeth utterly all the chariots, and leaveth of them a hundred chariots.

David le tomó 1, 000 carros y 7, 000 hombres de a caballo y 20, 000 soldados de a pie; David desjarretó todos los caballos de los carros, pero dejó suficientes caballos para 100 carros.

5 A nd Aram of Damascus cometh in to give help to Hadarezer king of Zobah, and David smiteth in Aram twenty and two thousand men,

Cuando vinieron los Arameos de Damasco en ayuda de Hadad Ezer, rey de Soba, David mató a 22, 000 hombres de los Arameos.

6 a nd David putteth in Aram of Damascus, and the Aramaeans are to David for servants, bearing a present, and Jehovah giveth salvation to David whithersoever he hath gone.

Entonces David puso guarniciones en Aram de Damasco; y los Arameos fueron siervos de David, trayéndo le tributo. Y el Señor ayudaba a David dondequiera que iba.

7 A nd David taketh the shields of gold that have been on the servants of Hadarezer, and bringeth them in to Jerusalem;

David tomó los escudos de oro que llevaban los siervos de Hadad Ezer, y los trajo a Jerusalén.

8 a nd from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, hath David taken very much brass; with it hath Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

Asimismo David tomó una gran cantidad de bronce de Tibhat y de Cun, ciudades de Hadad Ezer, con el cual Salomón hizo el mar de bronce, las columnas y los utensilios de bronce.

9 A nd Tou king of Hamath heareth that David hath smitten the whole force of Hadarezer king of Zobah,

Cuando Tou, rey de Hamat, oyó que David había derrotado a todo el ejército de Hadad Ezer, rey de Soba,

10 a nd he sendeth Hadoram his son unto king David, to ask of him of peace, and to bless him (because that he hath fought against Hadarezer, and smiteth him, for a man of wars with Tou had Hadarezer been,) and all kinds of vessels, of gold, and silver, and brass;

envió a su hijo Adoram al rey David para saludarlo y bendecirlo, porque había peleado contra Hadad Ezer y lo había derrotado, pues Hadad Ezer había estado en guerra con Tou. Y Adoram trajo toda clase de objetos de oro, de plata y de bronce.

11 a lso them hath king David sanctified to Jehovah with the silver and the gold that he hath taken from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

Estos el rey David dedicó también al Señor, junto con la plata y el oro que había tomado de todas estas naciones: de Edom, Moab, Amón, Filistea y Amalec.

12 A nd Abishai son of Zeruiah hath smitten Edom in the valley of salt -- eighteen thousand,

Además Abisai, hijo de Sarvia, derrotó a 18, 000 Edomitas en el Valle de la Sal.

13 a nd he putteth in Edom garrisons, and all the Edomites are servants to David; and Jehovah saveth David whithersoever he hath gone.

Puso guarniciones en Edom, y todos los Edomitas fueron siervos de David. Y el Señor daba la victoria a David dondequiera que iba. Oficiales de David

14 A nd David reigneth over all Israel, and he is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,

David reinó sobre todo Israel, y administraba justicia y derecho a todo su pueblo.

15 a nd Joab son of Zeruiah over the host, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud remembrancer,

Joab, hijo de Sarvia, era comandante del ejército; y Josafat, hijo de Ahilud, era cronista;

16 a nd Zadok son of Ahitub, and Abimelech son of Abiathar, priests, and Shavsha scribe,

Sadoc, hijo de Ahitob, y Abimelec, hijo de Abiatar, eran sacerdotes, y Savsá era escriba;

17 a nd Benaiah son of Jehoiada over the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the elder sons of David at the hand of the king.

Benaía, hijo de Joiada, era jefe de los Cereteos y Peleteos; y los hijos de David eran los primeros junto al rey.
