1 W herefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the apostle and chief priest of our profession, Christ Jesus,

Por tanto, hermanos santos, participantes del llamamiento celestial, consideren a Jesús, el Apóstol y Sumo Sacerdote de nuestra fe.

2 b eing stedfast to Him who did appoint him, as also Moses in all his house,

El cual fue fiel al que Lo designó (constituyó), como también lo fue Moisés en toda la casa de Dios.

3 f or of more glory than Moses hath this one been counted worthy, inasmuch as more honour than the house hath he who doth build it,

Porque Jesús ha sido considerado digno de más gloria que Moisés, así como el constructor de la casa tiene más honra que la casa.

4 f or every house is builded by some one, and He who the all things did build God,

Porque toda casa es hecha por alguno, pero el que hace todas las cosas es Dios.

5 a nd Moses indeed stedfast in all his house, as an attendant, for a testimony of those things that were to be spoken,

Moisés fue fiel en toda la casa de Dios como siervo, para testimonio de lo que se iba a decir más tarde.

6 a nd Christ, as a Son over his house, whose house are we, if the boldness and the rejoicing of the hope unto the end we hold fast.

Pero Cristo (el Mesías) fue fiel como Hijo sobre la casa de Dios, cuya casa somos nosotros, si retenemos firme hasta el fin nuestra confianza y la gloria de nuestra esperanza.

7 W herefore, (as the Holy Spirit saith, `To-day, if His voice ye may hear --

Por lo cual, como dice el Espíritu Santo: “ Si ustedes oyen hoy Su voz,

8 y e may not harden your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of the temptation in the wilderness,

no endurezcan sus corazones, como en la provocacion, como en el dia de la prueba en el desierto,

9 i n which tempt Me did your fathers, they did prove Me, and saw My works forty years;

donde sus padres Me tentaron y Me pusieron a prueba, y vieron Mis obras por cuarenta años.

10 w herefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, Always do they go astray in heart, and these have not known My ways;

Por lo cual Yo me disguste con aquella generacion, y dije: ‘siempre se desvian en su corazon, y no han conocido Mis caminos;’

11 s o I sware in My anger, If they shall enter into My rest --!')

como jure en Mi ira: ‘ No entraran en Mi reposo.’”

12 S ee, brethren, lest there shall be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in the falling away from the living God,

Tengan cuidado, hermanos, no sea que en alguno de ustedes haya un corazón malo de incredulidad, para apartarse del Dios vivo.

13 b ut exhort ye one another every day, while the To-day is called, that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of the sin,

Antes, exhórtense los unos a los otros cada día, mientras todavía se dice: “Hoy;” no sea que alguno de ustedes sea endurecido por el engaño del pecado.

14 f or partakers we have become of the Christ, if the beginning of the confidence unto the end we may hold fast,

Porque somos hechos partícipes de Cristo, si es que retenemos firme hasta el fin el principio de nuestra seguridad.

15 i n its being said, `To-day, if His voice ye may hear, ye may not harden your hearts, as in the provocation,'

Por lo cual se dice: “ Si ustedes oyen hoy Su voz, no endurezcan sus corazones, como en la provocacion.”

16 f or certain having heard did provoke, but not all who did come out of Egypt through Moses;

Porque ¿quiénes, habiendo oído, Lo provocaron ? ¿Acaso no fueron todos los que salieron de Egipto guiados por Moisés?

17 b ut with whom was He grieved forty years? was it not with those who did sin, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?

¿Con quiénes se disgustó por cuarenta años? ¿No fue con aquéllos que pecaron, cuyos cuerpos cayeron en el desierto ?

18 a nd to whom did He swear that they shall not enter into His rest, except to those who did not believe? --

¿Y a quiénes juró que no entrarían en Su reposo, sino a los que fueron desobedientes ?

19 a nd we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.

Vemos, pues, que no pudieron entrar a causa de su incredulidad.
