1 T o the Overseer, `On the Gittith.' A Psalm of David. Jehovah, our Lord, How honourable Thy name in all the earth! Who settest thine honour on the heavens.

¡Oh Señor, Señor nuestro, Cuán glorioso es Tu nombre en toda la tierra, Que has desplegado Tu gloria sobre los cielos!

2 F rom the mouths of infants and sucklings Thou hast founded strength, Because of Thine adversaries, To still an enemy and a self-avenger.

Por boca de los infantes y de los niños de pecho has establecido Tu fortaleza, Por causa de Tus adversarios, Para hacer cesar al enemigo y al vengativo.

3 F or I see Thy heavens, a work of Thy fingers, Moon and stars that Thou didst establish.

Cuando veo Tus cielos, obra de Tus dedos, La luna y las estrellas que Tú has establecido,

4 W hat man that Thou rememberest him? The son of man that Thou inspectest him?

Digo: ¿Qué es el hombre para que Te acuerdes de él, Y el hijo del hombre para que lo cuides ?

5 A nd causest him to lack a little of Godhead, And with honour and majesty compassest him.

¡Sin embargo, lo has hecho un poco menor que los ángeles, Y lo coronas de gloria y majestad!

6 T hou dost cause him to rule Over the works of Thy hands, All Thou hast placed under his feet.

Tú le haces señorear sobre las obras de Tus manos; Todo lo has puesto bajo sus pies:

7 S heep and oxen, all of them, And also beasts of the field,

Todas las ovejas y los bueyes, Y también las bestias del campo,

8 B ird of the heavens, and fish of the sea, Passing through the paths of the seas!

Las aves de los cielos y los peces del mar, Cuanto atraviesa las sendas de los mares.

9 J ehovah, our Lord, How honourable Thy name in all the earth!
